At Extendicare Peterborough, on Tuesday, April 9, 2002, Myrl Alice Dawson, in her 89th year. Widow of Denver John Dawson (1966) and William Gannon (1978). Loved mother of Donna Hunter (Fred), Toronto, Barbara Riley (Bruce), Peterborough, Mardi Dawson (Fowler), Stratford. Grandmother of Karen Hunter, Stephen Hunter, Michael Hunter, Susanne Hunter, Leslie Riley, Robert Riley, Lindy Feltz, and Carla Fowler. Grandmother, by marriage, of Victoria Hunter, Agnes Hunter, Daniel Johnson, Kevin Feltz, and Trevor Worsell. Great-grandmother of 13. Daughter of the late Clara (nee Goforth) and Peter Smith. Survived by sister Rae Tuffnail, Flint, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Agnes Plume and Alice Gunn, and brother Jack Smith. Sister-in-law of Lucille Bell, St. Mary's and Jean Dawson, Stratford. Predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Jessie Dawson, Mildred and Ivan Pounder, David Dawson, Harry Tuffnail, Larry Plume, Ted Gunn, and Jean Smith. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Service. Funeral Service will be held at ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, Bowmanville, 1 p.m. Friday. Interment Bowmanville cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrl's memory may be made to All Saints Anglican Church, Peterborough, St. John's Anglican Church, Bowmanville, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville.

After a brief illness, on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 92. Mabel (nee Elford) of Port Perry, beloved wife of the late Fred Dayes. Loving mother of Alan Dayes and his wife Pat of North Bay, Clifford Dayes of Edmonton, Alberta, Lorraine an her husband Charlie Andrews of Prince Albert and Jim Dayes and his wife Carol of Courtice. Loving grandmother of Beverly, Barry, Brian, Denise, Cheryl, Colleen, Tracie, Christine, Stewart, Julie, & Stephanie. Great-grandmother of Nicholas, Amie, Lauren, Spencer, Brandon, Dakota, Daniel, John-Paul, Victoria, Jeffrey & Matthew. Predeceased by her 4 brothers and 7 sisters. Relatives and friends will be received at the Wagg Funeral Home, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Mabel Dayes will be held in the Chapel on Friday, April 12th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Julie van Haaften officiating. Interment Nestleton United Church cemetery. FORD, Philip -
passed away peacefully after a short illness on April 9, 2002 at his home. Beloved husband of Hélène-Muriel for 30 years. Loving father of Claire and her husband Rod, Steven and his wife Lee. Proud Oupa of Alice and Liam. Loving son of Yvonne Ford of South Africa. Philip will be fondly remembered by many friends and family near and abroad. Peacefully at home, on Monday, April 8th, 2002 after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. Carol Gamble, in her 60th year. Beloved wife of Thomas Franklin Gamble for 37 years. Devoted daughter of Janet Brown and the late Arnold Brown. Loving sister of Lynda McFadden (Bernie) and Catherine Vowles (John). She was a great inspiration and much loved Aunt to Laura, Greg and Tara; Scott, Mark and Lanny; Brent and Jean. Carol was a graduate of Peterborough Civic Hospital Class of 1963. Carol will be sorely missed by many. Loving grandfather of Katie and Casey and his wife Mary-Lynne. Predeceased by his brothers Bob and John and his sister Beatrice all originally from Brantford. VANSTONE, Ralph "Ross" -
passed away after a lengthy illness with Esophageal Cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday April 5, 2002. Service was held on Monday April 8, 2002 at the Armstrong Funeral Home Chapel, 124 King St. East, Oshawa. Beloved husband of Lorraine Vanstone of 23 years. Loving father of Paula and her husband Tony Cormier of Oshawa, Nancy and her husband Mark Argent of Hawaii, Murray Vanstone and his wife Darlene of Timmins, Kelly Vanstone and his wife Beth of Oshawa. Loving stepfather to Dianne Malchow of Oshawa, Fred Gilbert and his wife Cheryl of Oshawa and John Gilbert and his wife Kim of Toronto. Loving grandfather of sixteen, and great grandfather of seven. Ross was a pressman at The Oshawa Times for 46 years. He started there fresh out of Whitby High School at the age of 18 years old. He played hockey for The Oshawa Times for many years. He was also active with the Cadets and the Cadet band. The family of Ross would like to thank everyone that attended the service, friends & family for their support during this difficult time. special thanks to Dr. Brankston, Dr. Eisenstat, Dr. Chou and the nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Dear step mother of Lorraine Famme and her family, daughter Mary Louise Amos, and sons, Jim Famme and David Famme. Dear sister of the late Herbert, Harry and Ida of England. Jean will be sadly missed by her friends at the Court at Pringle Creek and especially Shirley Barnes who has been such a wonderful comfort over the past few months. Jean was a keen fan and player of the Oshawa Curling Club and Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club, she was also a member of the LenoreGroup of Simcoe Street United Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 11 at 2:30 p.m. from the Chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa. Visitation one hour prior to service time. On Sunday, April 7, 2002 at Oshawa General Hospital, with his loving family at his side, in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his devoted wife Hilda (1997). Survived by his children William and Joyce of Sarnia, Ian and Marlene of Waterloo, Barbara and Steven Hatch of Oshawa, Robert and Andrea of Whitby, Victoria and Michael Green of Mississauga, John and Joan of Stoney Creek; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother William of Canyon Lake, California. Served with R.C.N.V.R. as a C.P.O. in both Atlantic and Pacific theatres. Bob was a longtime member of Composite Masonic Lodge #667, Past Master 1960, P.D.D.G.M. Hamilton District "B" 1991-1992 and Lodge Secretary for 15 years, a Past President and Charter Member of the Burlington Probus Club, and a former member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club. Resting at the L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa Street North in Hamilton (905-544-1147) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Foundation of Grand Lodge Canada or the Lung Association.

passed away peacefully on Sunday April 7, 2002 in his 82nd year at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa. Survived by his wife Sylvia, sons Gordon, Dale, Daniel and predeceased by son Andrew. Survived by brothers Tom, Arthur and sister Mary. Grandfather to Clare, Kyla, Holly and Nathan. Remembered by family in Scotland and Australia.
