GREIG, William (Bill) John -
passed away suddenly on Friday, April 5, 2002 in Tampa, Florida at 54 years of age. Bill was born in Oshawa on June 23, 1947. A curly headed little boy, he was doted on by his parents, Gerald and Vera. He had an older sister, Barbara (Bonnie) whom he loved to tease. He was delighted when his sister married her husband William (Bill) Horton. They became fast friends and close brothers-in-law. Soon enough he was an uncle to Steven and Carey. Bill always said he wanted to marry before he turned 30. On June 11, 1977, he married Susan Gillespie, just days short of his 30th birthday. His new in-laws were Malcolm and Joan Gillespie. Bill and Susan, whom both worked for Emco Limited spent 3 years living in Toronto until the expected birth of their first son Cory Jonathan. This immediately prompted them to buy their first home in Bradford. Two years later their second son Michael William was born and this completed their family. Bill loved his two sons and was so proud of both of them. From changing diapers to coaching them on each of their baseball teams to teaching them all they know about hockey and golf, he was always there for them. Soon enough it was time to teach them to drive, and Bill found that Cory and Michael grew up too fast. In the meantime, Bill became an uncle to Kurtis and Alisen, children of Jayeson and Deanna Nicols; Daniel and Kaila, children of Rob and Gale Gillespie; Steven and Lisa, children of Rick and Jodi Gillespie. As well as a great uncle to Marshall, Daniel and Drew, children of Steven and Leslie Horton. Bill worked for Emco Limited for over 34 years. Last year he took on the challenge of helping start up a new branch for Ontario Water Products. We lost Bill in a tragic accident while on a golfing trip in Florida. We will all miss him so much, he had so many friends and always kept us laughing. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives. Friends called at Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford for visitation. Funeral Service was held at the Bradford United Church, 66 Barrie St., Bradford on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at 2 p.m. followed by cremation.
