BOWIE, John David -
(April 11th, 1944). Suddenly in Whitby, in his 59th year, on Wednesday, June 12, 2002. Beloved husband of Colleen (nee Leo), father of Sheila Schultz (Mark) of Brighton, Michigan, David (Stephanie) of Embrun, Ontario and Heather of Thailand. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Iain, Brendan, Christine, Kyle, William and Daniel. Brother of Joan MacDougall (Bob) of St. Catharines, Patricia Tennant (Bryan) of Parry Sound. John's successful career began at General Motors in St. Catharines, and he quickly advanced to executive position in General Motors Oshawa and Detroit, completing his career as President of EDS Canada. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE 'Thornton Chapel', 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Saturday, June 15th, from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, June 16th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 17th, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

HOLMES, Elma “Lynn”
After a lengthy illness with multiple sclerosis, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, on Wednesday, June 12, 2002, Lynn (nee Hilts) in her 53rd year. Dearly beloved wife of "Rick”. Loving mother of Susan Holmes and fiancé Dwayne Albert and Kevin Holmes. Beloved daughter of Ernest and the late Ruby Hilts. Dearly missed by twin sister Lea Barnes, brother Larry Hilts and sister Laurel and husband Timm Nichols. Daughter-in-law of Evelyn and the late Reginald Holmes. Fondly remembered by her cousin Sharleen Wilson. Suddenly at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday June 12th, 2002. Beloved infant son of James & Tracy McWilliams. Dear brother of Paige. Loving grandson of Bill & Linda Bates & Sharon & Ernie Cove. Dear nephew to Kevin, David & Lori and David McWilliams. He now joins his Grampa Gerry McWilliams, who predeceased him. Veteran of RCAF and 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 Whitby. Frank Steffler passed away on Wednesday June 12, 2002 in his 90th year at the Ajax Pickering Hospital. Frank beloved son of the late Grace Ann Moran and Francis Henry Steffler. Loving brother of Leo Steffler, Mary Callfas, Bernadette McDougall and the late Camila Flanagan, Grace Steffler, Sarah Sernie, William and George Steffler. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mr Steffler will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas St. East Whitby Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Lakeridge Health, Uxbridge. In her 75th year. Caroline, beloved wife of the late Frederick James Swan. Dear mother of Robert James Swan and Lynn Bastien, Patricia and Phil Walsh, Carolyn and Bill Lawrence, Bill and Linda Swan, James and Cathy Swan and Shirley Cheadle. Grandmother of Rob, Malisa, Timothy, Shandie, Deryck, Trevor, William Jr., Jennifer, Amanda, Angela, Jessica, Christine, Meagan, Devyn, Emily and seven great grandchildren. Survived by her brother Ted Laws and sister Patricia Platt. Resting at the Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South on Saturday, June 15th, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In Caroline's memory donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation. Peacefully, at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, on Tuesday, June 11, 2002, after a lengthy illness, Tom, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Mina (nee Craggs) and the late Beryl (nee Clare). Dear father and great dad to Norman and his wife Joy, Raymond (deceased) and his wife Gwen, both of Oshawa, Patricia and her husband George Carter of Madoc, Diane (deceased) and her husband Reg and Stella Reich of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Kim, Lori, Kevin, Barbara, David, Rosanne, Taminy, Louise, Richard, Christopher, Joanne and the late Tommy. Remembered by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Edna and brothers Fred and Harold. Loved mother of Paul Woodhouse and his wife Lisa of B.C., Chrystal Woodhouse and her husband Robert Wright of Pontypool, Angela and her husband Mike Hurren of Kingston, Andrew Woodhouse of Bowmanville and the late Stephen Woodhouse. Loving grandmother of Emily, Olivia and Dalton. Dear sister of Maureen Millar, Margaret Clifton, Catherine McMann, Stephen Millar, John Millar and Elizabeth Anderson. Survived by her loving aunts and uncles and lots of nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will take place at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Bowmanville, at Lambs Rd. and Hwy #2 on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family have requested donations be made through the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville or directly to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Bowmanville.

Loving father of Edmund Piho and Debbie Warriner of Port Perry, Mike Piho and his wife Joan Alkenbrack of Port Perry, Christine and her husband Bob Harper of Uxbridge, Linda and her husband Dave Pearce of Nestleton, and Teresa and her husband Keith Blair of Oshawa. Loved grandfather of Terra, Cody, Jami, Clinton, Brendan, Michael, Garrett, Connor, Cole, and Matthew. Will be missed by the rest of his family in Canada and Estonia.
