Dolly’s gentle spirit peacefully left us on Friday September 27th in her 93rd year surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband George. Survived by her devoted children Jim (Nancy), Linda Mullen (Avery), Wendy (Stephen Galloway) and Pam Oldham (Brad). Also survived by her adored grandchildren Timothy, Tamara, Shari, Shelley, Michelle, Taryn, Gaelen, Jason, Tyler and Samantha. Also loved by 7 great and 4 great- great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge (23 Main Street South 905-852-3073), on Wednesday October 2nd 2013 in the chapel at 1:00pm. Boumans, Mark Steven
Passed away, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Lakeridge Health Port Perry at the age of 53. Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 25 years, Shelley (nee McHugh). Especially proud father of Ashley and Matthew. Cherished son of Bert and Brenda Boumans. Mark will also be terribly missed by his much loved sister, Kim (Sean) Fewer. Fondly remembered and deeply respected son in-law of Bill and Betty McHugh. Beloved brother in-law of Dean (Tandy) McHugh and Karen (Bill) King. Mark was also the much adored Uncle to Aaron and Paige Fewer and Connor and Cassidy King. Predeceased by his nephew Damon Fewer (2007). Sadly missed by his fellow employees and the residents of Port Perry Villa. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Port Perry and especially Dr. Kim Ferguson for their loving care and support.

It is with overwhelming grief that the Wells and Korb Families have been shattered by the sudden loss of their beloved Tyler Spencer Korb, December 30, 1990 – September 21, 2013. Cherished and adored son of Karen Wells and Alfred Korb. So loved by his sister Savannah, brothers Andrew and Jeff. Predeceased by sister Kathleen Elizabeth. Loved great-grandson of Eulalie Mascoll. Precious Grandson of Maise Korb, the late Arthur Korb, and Denise and Harold Wells. Special nephew to Steve and Lyndsey Wells and Patricia and Rob Pierre. Loving Uncle and cousin to many. Best friend and soul mate to Stephanie Phoenix, greatly missed by Daryl and Sherry Phoenix, along with many other family members. St. John, J. Russell M.D.
John Russell St. John died at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on September 21, 2013, at the age of 93 years. Russ was born at home in Uxbridge on July 3, 1920. He attended the University of Toronto graduating in medicine in 1944 and married Elizabeth “Betty” Rae of Wingham. After service in the Canadian Army Medical Corp in WWII, Russ set up practice in 1946 in Howley, Newfoundland employed by Bowater Pulp & Paper. In 1948, he and Betty returned to Uxbridge where he raised his family, volunteered in his community, was pivotal in establishing the local hospital and practiced medicine for 32 years before retiring and dividing his time between Florida and Uxbridge. For the last few years, Russ and Betty have resided at Butternut Manor. Russ was a determined and hard-working man. He was a devoted doctor and family man. Russ was a sportsman enjoying hockey and later coaching, fishing and golf. Up until the last few weeks of his life Russ could be found at the bridge table whenever there was a game to be had. He was devoted to Betty his wife of 69 years, proud of his children and took great delight in his grandchildren and their offspring who though far flung, visited whenever they could. Russ is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Betty, his brother Neil St. John of Pickering, his son Brian St. John and daughter Mary Bryon both of Uxbridge, son Wayne St. John of Bethany and daughter Sue St. John of Toronto; eight grandchildren: Melanie, Kelly, Rachel, Marcia, Rebecca, Meredith, Gillian and Douglas; father-in-law to Nancy St. John, Terry Bryon, Donna St. John and Lorraine Holding; great grandfather to Jake, Keira, Wynton, Reuben, Callum and Bowen. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and May (nee Campbell), his sister Jean Wood, his brother Harold and his son Douglas St. John. Visitation will take place at Low & Low Funeral Home Uxbridge, 23 Main St. South (905) 852-3073 on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm. A Celebration of Russ’ life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 1:00pm in the chapel. Reception to follow service. Kemp, William Ernest
It is with heavy hearts and unconditional love that we announce the passing of William Ernest Kemp on Friday, September 13, 2013. He leaves behind his son Greg Kemp, daughter Michella and her husband Craig Cross and Debbie and David Saliba. With great admiration his grandchildren; Ashleigh (Chris), Christopher, Branden, Megan and Jessie are also left to mourn. William will also be sadly missed by his brother Guelph Kemp of California as well as his nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws. William served in the Veteran’s Wing at Sunnybrook Hospital for 15 years and sang in the choir at St. Paul’s for 10 years. A huge thanks to Dr. Carley Jensen for her support, compassion and hugs. A “Graduation of Life” service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 1-3p.m. at the home of his daughter Michella and son in-law Craig Cross in Prince Albert. Petre, Wilma Grace
passed away after a 7 year battle with cancer on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Wilma was born on November 30, 1938 at Kirkland Lake, Ontario to Edith and William Davis. Shortly after the family moved to North Bay, Ontario. She was the oldest of ten children. Wilma did her schooling in North Bay, was active in all girls sports, graduated from Nursing in 1959 and married Ray in 1960. Wilma was the beloved wife of Ray for the past 53 years, the mother of Mark (Susan), Michael (Rose) and Paula, and grandmother of Adam and Thomas. She was predeceased by her parents Edith and William Davis and brothers Wayne and John. She is survived by brothers Ron, Darrell, Don, Doug and sisters Loann, Helen and Barbara. Wilma is the sister in law of Maryellen and Rusty Workman and Don and Jackie Petre. She will be missed by her Kings Bay Bridge Club, the Kings Bay Book Club, the Scugog Duplicate Bridge Club and her many close friends and coworkers at the Oshawa General Hospital. Formerly of Goodwood and Haliburton, passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Highland Wood in Haliburton. Mae shared her life for 67 years with her faithful and loving husband, Gordon Jones. Loving mother of Marilyn (Jim) Fader and Betty (Tom) Russell. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Steve (Heather) Jackson, Sue (Dave) Lotton, Jeff (Suzanne) Smith and Jason (Shannon) Smith. Mae also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren; Nick and Julia Jackson, Keegan and Kaleb Smith, Cooper and Tyson Lotton and Calloway and Jack Smith. Born January 23, 1927 to Ralph and Emily Faulkner (nee Brown). Sister to James (WWII), Jean (Percy Pugh), Jessie (B.W. Taylor), Noreen (Clare McGuckin) and Norman (Karen/Martha) Faulkner all predeceased. Mae was a faithful member at Goodwood and Lakeside Baptist Churches. After a happy, successful life Mae suffered a stroke in 1996 but will finally be at peace.
