Bowman, Barbara

passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket in her 72nd year. Loving wife of Mike for 50 years. Sadly missed by her children Christine (David), Kenny (Eileen) and Katy (Michael). Proud Mommom of Alexander, Steven, Emily, Clare, Jamie and Liam. As per Barb’s wishes, no funeral service will be held, cremation has taken place. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Uxbridge / Scugog Animal Shelter.

Sangalli, Mario

passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket. Predeceased by his beloved wife Flora. Loving father of Fabrizio (Iolanda), Dario (Cathy) and John (Lucille). Proud grandfather of Christina, Marco, Ivano, Norissa, Nickolas, Nadia and Nolan. A visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. Entombment took place at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Brand, Lorne
April 26, 1943 - June 14, 2011

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lorne Neil Brand (son of Laura and Lorne Brand, son-in-law of Margaret and Howard Lee) at the age of 68. Beloved Husband of Debbi Jefferson, adored and loving Father of Matthew, Lorne (Sarah), Debbi-Lynne, Ryan (Shannon) and Sarah. Proud Grandfather of Tyler and Nathan. Devoted Brother to David and Suzanne and many Brothers and Sisters-in-law. Fun loving Uncle to many Nieces and Nephews. (Some who affectionately called him “Spiderman”). Lorne’s incredible sense of humor and big heart will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. with visiting from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Loyst, John (Ren)

passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2011 in his 89th year at the Lakeridge Health Hospital in Whitby. Beloved husband of Marion for 60 years. Cherished father of Allen (Cathy), Debbie (the late Grant), Cathy (Vic) and Dianne (Steve). Proud poppy of Connie, Gary, Sherrie, Arren, Jody, Becky, Jordan, Nick, Karen, Jeff, Jessica, Avery, Ted and 15 great grandchildren. He will be missed by his loyal companion Babe. A visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach St. Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral Service was held in the chapel on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. Reception followed at the Claremont Royal Canadian Legion Br. 483 (4937 Old Brock Rd N. Claremont). If so desired, in John’s memory donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Hospital Port Perry, or the Claremont Royal Canadian Legion Br. 483.

Hockley, Mary Edith

Peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at Reachview Nursing Home, in her 96th year. Loving wife of the late Everett Hockley. Lovingly remembered by her children Ruby (the late Don Heard), Ken (Beatrice) and Allan (Doris). Fondly remembered by her many grandchildren and great – grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother and sister – in – law Clarence and Verna Jones and is survived by her brother Gord (Mae) Jones.
Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge, ON (905) 852 – 3073 on Tuesday, June 7th, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service was held in the chapel on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.A reception followed. Interment at Uxbridge cemetery. In Mary’s memory donations may be made to a charity of your own choice.

Collett, Edward Gordon

Peacefully passed away, on Monday, June 6th, 2011 at the Cottage Hospital, Uxbridge at age 81. Gord beloved husband to Tina, dear father to Denise and husband Brian, Carrie and husband Chris and Beth and husband Ron. Opa to Andrea and husband Kris, Nicole, Vanessa, Melissa, Meghan, and Maddy. Great granddaughter Grace. Survived by his brother Bill and wife Margaret, younger brother of the late Jack and Elaine Drury. Sister in law Eadie Henry. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Steve, Jeffery, Susan, Cathy, Mark, David, Lezlie and Lisa. A service to celebrate Gord’s life was held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Low and Low Funeral Home Port Perry 1763 Reach St. (905) 985-7331 from 10 a.m. until Service time at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. In Gord’s memory donations may be made to Canadian Tire Jumpstart “giving kids a sporting chance”.
A special thank you to the nurses at the Cottage Hospital, Uxbridge. “So long” to our #1 fan and family man Gord/Dad/Opa. Love, from all your Girls.

passed away at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry on Thursday June 2, 2011 in her 86th year. Blanche Dowswell wife of the late Earl Dowswell. Loving mother of Gwen (Don) McCall, Betty Groff, Dale (Betty) Dowswell and predeceased by Dennis. Dear grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of Lillian Hope, Garnet Bacon and predeceased by Ken Bacon and Evelyn Fretz. Family and friends were received at the Low & Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel on Saturday June 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Williamson, Patricia (Peggy) Laura

It is with great sorrow that the family of Peggy announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Peggy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill. Peggy is survived by her husband Peter, daughters Susan (John) Lubberdink, Janice Mosley (Mark Wilson), and grandchildren Michael and Andrea Mosley. Patricia was predeceased by daughter Patsy, parents Thomas and Julia Davis, sister Ida Norma Gage and nephew Tom Gage. A Funeral Service was held to celebrate Peggy’s life at the St. Andrew’s-Chalmers Presbyterian Church (40 B Toronto St. S. Uxbridge) on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with visiting one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Wiggins, Arlie Alison

passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at ReachView Village Nursing Home, Uxbridge in her 64th year. Loving daughter to the late Hugh and Madeline Wilkinson. Beloved wife to the late Robert G. Wiggins. Dear mother to Blake Bell and Trevor Bell and grandmother to Luke Bell. Survived by her brother Neil Wilkinson and sister-in-law Jean Wilkinson. Aunt to Sharon, Carey, Blair Wilkinson and family friend Gale Willgoss. Our mother loved her children, loved being a mother, loved her family and loved flowers. A Service to celebrate Arlie’s life was held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 Visitation from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. A reception followed. passed away peacefully in her 95th year, at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry on Monday May 30th, 2011. Ruby Beare wife of the late George Beare. Loving mother of Carol (Hillis) Wilbur, Fred Beare, Barry (Joan) Beare and predeceased by Sharon Morton and daughter in law Renee Beare. Dear grandmother of Scott, Todd, and Lee Wilbur, Tracey Thoms, Paula Sullivan, Parker Morton, Corrie Jolicoeur, Michelle Armstrong and Nicky Beare and many great grandchildren. Ruby is predeceased by her brothers and sisters George, Hilda, Elsie, Grace, Doug Clayton and Mabel. Prozenko, Henry

passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Linda for 47 years. Cherished father of Peter (Leeann) and Steve.
