Kerr, Alexander Hamilton

Alex passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in his 74th year. Loving husband for 38 years of the late Elaine (Eagles). Cherished father of the late Laurie-Anne Currie (Alan), and David (Tracey). Extremely proud Grumps of Scott. Wonderful brother of Anne Bond (Martin). Grateful friend of Alan, Lynn and Sam. Close companion and friend to Marjorie Lampman. Alex will be missed by his sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and a lifetime of great friends. Cremation has taken place. Private Service was held. Donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home (905) 852-3073.

Clark, Victor

passed away at his home on Friday, October 15, 2010 in his 70th year. Victor, Beloved Husband of Norma for 51 years. Loving Father of Roy, Derek, Jill and Sharon. Cherished Gramps and Papa of Crystal, Nicole, Jessica, Monique, Derek, Carl, Seany, Jessy and Tyler. Brother of June, Neil, Alison and Robin. A Funeral Service was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with visiting from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

MacPherson, George

passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in his 74th year. Predeceased by his wife Betty MacPherson. Father of Lisa, Bruce, Drew and Andrea. Papa of Amanda, Sarah, Joshua, the late Emily, Owen, Justin and Melina. Brother of Janice, Bruce and the late Gordon. In respect of George’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Halliday, Harvey Arnold

passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Port Perry Hospital. Harvey, beloved husband of Barbara for 56 years. Loving father of Jan (Hank) Blasiak, Susan (Tony) Johnson, Greg (Michiyo). Proud grandfather of Michael, Jennifer, Kristin, Candice, Kyle, Jay, Joe, and great grandfather of Lucy. Survived by his sisters and brothers Dot (Art) Shetler, Elsie (Ernie deceased) Comartin, Fran (Alex ) Easton, Bill (Marj), Cliff (Joan deceased), Joyce (deceased) Don Knuppel, Eric (Barb), and Irene (Dave) Kirk.
Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 for service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Visitation 1 hour prior. Reception followed at the Port Perry Royal Canadian Legion. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Blair, Patricia Gail

On Tuesday, October 12th, 2010, at Toronto Western Hospital in her 69th year. Pat beloved wife of Bill, loving mother to Phil (Marla), Rick and Scott (Lorie). Grandmother to Haley, Megan, Eliza and Shea. Survived by her brother Don (Marnie) Ross. Fondly remembered by her brother in law Herb (Gloria), her niece Sarah and her nephews Glen and Gary Blair.
Friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S, Uxbridge (905) 852 – 3073 on Friday, October 15th, 2010 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Pat’s life was held in the chapel on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to March of Dimes or a Charity of Choice.

Szekreny, Julie

In her 76th year, passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. She slipped away peacefully on October 6th, 2010
At Julie’s request, there will be no service, cremation has taken place and she will rest next to her husband George at the Uxbridge cemetery. She will be dearly missed by her many family and friends.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) – 852 – 3073.

Barfoot, John David

Greenbank has lost a true friend and neighbour with the passing of John on Saturday October 9, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Barb and the immensely proud and cherished father of Colleen and Leanne. John was greatly loved by his sister Wendy Nolan, his surrogate brother (in-law) Bill and their daughters Tara (Rich) and Hilary (Deon). He will be forever treasured by the Hansen family especially his buddy Carl and his many Cowan relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Russell Barfoot and his stepfather John Richardson.
John loved big – family, friends, community, hockey, refereeing, ringette, eating, music, helping others, puttering, Little Hawk Lake, and yes – the Leafs!

He`ll be so hugely missed.
Family and friends were received at the Low & Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Wednesday October 13, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Barfoot was held at the Greenbank United Church, Hwy 12, Greenbank on Thursday October 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Community Living Durham North would be appreciated.

Cliff, Donald Robert
Chartered Member Of The Blackstock Lions Club

Suddenly at his home on Thursday October 7, 2010 in his 66th year, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Don Cliff beloved husband and best friend to Christine for 39 years. Loving father to Jason (Leeanna), Don (Merlie), Robyn (Ian) Mills. Proud grandpa to Zoe, Alex, Preston, Tanner and step GG to Micah. Survived by his sister Barbara Fugelsang and her husband Al. Sadly missed by the entire Robbins family and his many friends. Family and friends called at the Low & Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Tuesday October 12, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. A Lions Club service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6 p.m. A complete funeral service was held in the chapel on Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. Cremation followed. If desired memorial donations to Durham Regional Cancer Centre or Lions Club Camp Kirk would be appreciated.

passed away at his home in Columbus on Thursday October 7, 2010. Thomas will be sadly missed by all the staff and his friends at Christian Horizon. Friends will be received at Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Tuesday October 12, 2010 from 12 to 1 p.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. a reception followed at the funeral home. Interment Pine Grove cemetery , Prince Albert. If desired memorial donations may be made to C H Global.

Kerber, Norbert G.

passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. In his 81st year. Norbert, beloved husband to Terry for 60 years. Proud father to Karan and her husband Brent Nicholson, Jesse and his wife Victoria, Scott and his wife Pascalle and Michael. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Nicole, Austin, Briar, Jessica, Adam, and great grandchildren Lily, Ruby, Ayden and Savanna. Survived by his sister Rosemary and her husband Gordon Taylor.
A service to Celebrate Norbert’s life was held on Sunday, October 10th, 2010 in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. from the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852 – 3073, with visiting from 12:00 noon until time of service. The family would like to greatly thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Auxiliary.

Bailey, Deborah "Debbie" Lynn

passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Loving mother to Julian Bailey. Devoted Grandmother to Austin Bailey. Cherished Daughter to Mary and Dale Cleveland. Debbie was loved very much and will be missed by all her family and friends
A Memorial Service was held at the Low and Low funeral home at 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. We would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Jensen and the wonderful staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital who have given Deborah such excellent care over the years.

passed away on October 5th, 2010 at her home in her 73rd year. Predeceased by her husband Clyde Edward Crawford. Loving Mother of Janet & Roger Crawford – Gilmore, Linda & Glenn Crawford – Hediman, Barbara & Bev Crawford – Newton and predeceased by her son Roy Crawford. Caring Grandmother to Tammy, Todd, Christopher, Alissa, Mitchell and Kaitlin. Great – grandmother to Serria and Edward. Thank you to all the staff at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and Markham Stouffville Hospital, Dr St. John, Dr. Bryan, Dr. Yuen, and Dr. Solo for all your help and care. A special thank you to Terry Crawford, for all your help and support, we appreciate everything you have done. A memorial service was held in the chapel at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S, Uxbridge, (905) 852 – 3073 on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. with visiting from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Interment at Greenbank cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
