Raithby, Paul Taylor
(Retired Teacher with Scarborough Board for 35 yrs)

Entered into rest, peacefully, at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital after a long and determined battle with multiple myeloma on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Paul, beloved husband of Mary.Loving father of Andy (Trish), Chris (Roy), Brad (Lynn), Tracey (Tony) and Kelly (Mike). Much loved Poppa Paul, Dadda, Grandpa to Lindsay (fiancé Dave), Trevor, Cassie, Kelsey, Jordan, Mitchell, Brodi, Alyx, Lauren, Elliot, Michael, Colton and Aimee. Proud great grandfather of Jaelynn. Survived by his brother Gord (Patti). Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Joanna Robertson (Sandy) and many nieces, nephews and great nephew.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. from the Low and Low Funeral Home Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South (905) 852-3073 Funeral Service was held on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. from St. Andrews Chalmers Presbyterian Church, 40-B Toronto Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-6262. In Paul’s memory, donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital or St. Andrews Chalmers Presbyterian Church Building Fund. The family wishes to thank Dr. Batten and the entire staff of the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital for their tireless support over the last 6 years, as well as the oncology department at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Davis, Gerald

At Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Gerald Davis, formerly of Port Perry. He is survived by a sister Thelma Murphy of Petrolia and twenty one nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Robert and Maudie Davis, his brothers Allan and Norman Davis, and a sister Alma Davis. He served his country in World War II with Royal Canadian Artillery and the Highland Light Infantry. A Funeral Service was held at Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Visitors will be received at the funeral home from 12:00 until the service at 2:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

West, Valerie

After a long battle with cancer Val passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket at the age of 64. Beloved wife of Wayne. Loving mother of the late Craig. Dear daughter of the late Doris and Jack King. Dear sister of Marie Leitch and Joan Yeadon; sister-in-law of Rick and Ann West of B.C. Loving aunt of Cheri (Walter) Kay, Brad (Carol) Leitch, Jason, Kevin, and Lorne; and her great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her many close friends. Family and friends called at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for visitation on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Pine Orchard Friends cemetery. Baker, Violet Ann

passed away in the early morning on February 6, 2008, at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario in her 85th year surrounded by her cherished family, daughter Sharon, son-in-law, Kenneth, and her beloved grandchildren Linzi and Callum. She will be deeply missed and remembered with much love and fondness, as a mother, grandmother, sister, dear friend and companion. With her recently passed husband of 62 years. Frank, she led a life full of family, travel, laughter and many happy memories. Violet was a vibrant spirit whose quiet strength was a source of inspiration to all who had the honour of knowing her. Her smile, her inner strength, ever-present sweetness and grace will never be forgotten. May she have peace and contentment in joining her partner and soul mate. She will be in our heart always. Entered into rest at Rouge Valley Hospital, Ajax on Thursday, February 7, 2008 in her 71st year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Underwood. Loving mother of Douglas and Brenda, and Donna and John Coppins. She will be missed by her grandchildren Michael, Melissa (James), Dylan, and Katelynn. Great grandmother of Jacob. Loving sister of Mary Coxworth and Don Benson and predeceased by Stan and Harry Benson. Garth was a WWII Veteran, a creative and talented craftsman and jeweler and a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed. passed away peacefully after a long valiant battle with lung cancer at Huntsville Memorial Hospital at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008. Gail was a teacher for 34 years. Beloved wife of Wayne Redshaw for 45 years. Loving mother of Shane (Heather) and Lisa (Jim) Davis. Loving Nana to Dakota and Carson Redshaw, and Joshua, Curtis, and Tyler Davis. Daughter of the late Herbert and Jean Bell. Predeceased by her brother Bill. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Wayne (Donna) and sister-in-law Fern. Gail will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. passed away peacefully on January 23, 2008 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry in his 86th year with family by his side. Carl Marco beloved husband of Anne and dear father of Beverley, Chuck, Carl, Gloria and John and predeceased by his eldest son Lloyd. He will be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
