passed away with her family by her side at the Scarborough General Hospital on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the age of 63. Loving mother of Parker and his wife Denise Morton and Corrie and her husband Stephen Jolicoeur. Dear nanny of Steven, Alexa, Natasha, and Vanessa. Dear daughter of Ruby Beare and the late George Beare and sister of Carol (Hillis) Wilbur, Fred Beare, and Barry Beare. Sharon was a loving mother, nanny, and a dedicated nurse who will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Family and friends called at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A complete Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Sharon was held in the chapel on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow at the funeral home. Spring interment at Greenbank Bethel cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Hedges, Marjorie
May 27, 1912 - January 21, 2008

passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Hedges. Loving mother of Ronald (Marie) and Rosemary. A Funeral Service was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Jones, Gertrude (Gertie)

passed away peacefully at Newmarket Health Centre on January 20, 2008 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Matthew Richard (Dick) Jones. Loving mother of Brenda, Brian (Janice), the late Gary (Lisa), and the late Renee. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Elaina, Vanessa, Natalie, Mathew, Kirstin, Robert, and Hayden. Great grandmother to Sydney, Brody, Kaiya, Ruebyn, and Cosmo. Fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters, and her nieces and nephews. McLean, Joan

passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Markham Stouffville Hospital on Thursday, January 17, 2008. Formerly of Uxbridge Hydro. Survived by her kindred spirit Richard. Loving mother to Eric and his wife Kari and Liam and his wife Jenn. She will be missed by her grandchildren Kate, Ben and Hailey. She will be remembered by her ever-loving sisters and brothers Jean, Anne, Linda, Marie, Michelle, Regina, Nancy, Harry and George. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for visitation on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In Joan’s memory, donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation.

Mustard, Mac Alexander

Peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in his 82nd year. Mac, beloved husband of Mona. Dear father of Grant and his wife Rosemary. Proud Papa to Craig (Rebecca) and Christopher (Jill). Survived by his sisters Helen Clark, Isabel St. John, and Marion Harrison. Rested at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Leaskdale Church (12251 Regional Road # 1, Leaskdale). Interment Uxbridge cemetery. In Mac’s memory, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Leaskdale Church or the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

Skrabek, Edward Victor

passed away suddenly at Goodwood on January 13, 2008 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Renate for 54 years. Loving father to Edward (Sarah) and predeceased by daughter Marian. Dear Opa to Elisabeth and David. Survived by brother John Gruber. Will also be sadly missed by Cookie. A memorial service was held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., Uxbridge on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow. Private spring interment in Huntsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Peacefully at home on January 15, 2008 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Albert Brandenburg. Dear mother to Marcel, James, Dominic, Jessica and their spouses. Lynne passed away suddenly at her home, on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Sunday, January 6, 2008. He was in his 89th year. Predeceased by his brother Wilbert Lapp. Dearly missed by his sisters Muriel Cox and Doreen Brethour. Sister of Dick Kuehl and predeceased by brothers Jack, Tom and Bob Kuehl. Fitzhenry, Robert

American by birth but Canadian by choice, publisher Robert Fitzhenry died at home in his sleep on Thursday, January 3, 2008. He was 89. A wordsmith and an entrepreneur, he moved across the boarder in 1966 and co-founded Fitzhenry & Whiteside, a significant distribution company that represented Harper and Row (now part of Harper Collins) and other American Houses, especially in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Mr. Fitzhenry published a number of Canadian reference books, including the Funk and Wagnalls Canadian College Dictionary and the Fitzhenry & Whiteside Thesaurus, Book of Quotations, Book of Canadian Facts and Dates, and Trees in Canada. Donations made to the Donkey Sanctuary (6981 Puslinch Concession # 4 R.R. # 6 Guelph ON N1H 6J3) would be appreciated.

Weldon, Lucille

passed away at the Peterborough Hospital on Thursday, January 3, 2008. Lucille, beloved wife of Lloyd. Loving mother of Hillary (Bill), Brent (Lee), and Reid (Ginny). passed away peacefully on December 31, 2007. Beloved daughter of Stan Clark and his companion Jessie Ferron. Loving sister of Cheryl Allen and her husband Lee Allan, dear Aunt of Sean Allen and his wife Missy Allen and Neil Allen, beloved Great Aunt o0f Hailie and Hayden, dear niece of Norine McDonald, Lorraine Richards and Raymond Clark. Norine will be missed by all friends, family and the PJ girls. She has gone to meet her mother Jean Clark. She will also be missed by the staff of Pace. Raymer, Douglas Arthur

Douglas Arthur Raymer, surrounded by his family, was peacefully promoted home to Glory to be with his Lord and Saviour on December 29, 2007 in his 76th year. Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife Pat, children Rita & Barry, Bruce & Cheryl, Ian & Joan, daughter-in-law Jody & John, grandchildren Jennifer & Dwayne, Lindsey & Micah, Christen & Andrew, Melissa (1998-2002), Michael, Mark, Amanda, Alyssa, honorary grandchildren Ben, Katie, Jason, and great-grandchildren Hendrik, and Riley. Special thanks to all of Doug’s caregivers, especially Dr. Douglas Wu, the nursing staff at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, his homecare providers, and all the blood donors who helped Doug through the past six months. Visitation was held at Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge Ontario (905) 852-3073 on Monday, December 31, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaverton Presbyterian Church Vision Fund or to Canadian Blood Services.

Noble, Dorothy Aileen

Peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Reach View Village Nursing Home, Uxbridge. In her 89th year. Dorothy beloved wife of the late Harold. Dear mother of Jim and his wife Joyce of Atlanta, Bruce and his wife Renate of Trenton, Ivan and his wife Marion of Stouffville, Marilyn and her husband Don of Milton. Fondly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Survived by brothers Fred and Frank Wagner and sister Verna McPhail. Rested at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge 23 Main Street South (905) 852-3073 on Monday, December 31, 2007 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. In Dorothy’s memory donations may be made to the Uxbridge Baptist Church or the Gideons.
