Garrett, Daniel W.

passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry. Dan Garrett dearly beloved husband of Susan (Parish) of Port Perry. Loving father of Lee. Dear son of Ross and Helen Garrett of Newmarket. Dear brother of Shaun (Laurie) Garrett, Kevin Garrett, Kim (Gary) Chitzit and Darla Garrett. Dan will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Helen Parish, the Parish family and all of his nieces, nephews and many friends. Family and friends called at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church 97 King Rd., Richmond Hill on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Greenbank Bethel cemetery , Greenbank, following the service at the cemetery a reception will be held at the Greenbank United Church. Memorial donations to the Greenbank United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Port Perry Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Huntley, Joan Bernice

passed away peacefully on November 23, 2007 in her 84th year. Predeceased by parents Vic and Ida Hayden, husband Ronald, daughter Patricia Benoit, and brother Tom Hayden, sisters Marie Snooks, Faye Taylor, and companion Florian Kuiack. Loving Mother to Judy (Keith), Ron (Irene), William (Lisa) and special friend to Bob and Gail McNeill. Caring Grandmother to Brian (Gloria), Traci, Dawn (Udana), Kristi, Corrie (Mike), Aaron and Cassandra. Fondly remembered by 7 Great Grandchildren. Joan will be remembered by many dear family and friends. Joan proudly served in World War II and member of the Uxbridge Legion. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends were received at Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for a Service in the chapel on Monday November 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 2 hours prior. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Andrews, Christopher

In his 59th year, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Chris Andrews, son of the late Henry and Helen, passed away on the morning of November 18, 2007 at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa. Chris will be lovingly remembered by Leslie, his wife of 32 years, his 3 sons Jason, Robert, and Brandon, his brother Fred (Sheila), his sister Mary Helen (Pat), in-laws Eric, Gregory (Gloria), Sheri (Doug) and Steven (Mary), as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Chris led a simple, selfless life and always put his family and friends before himself. A Memorial Service was held at Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street Port Perry (905) 985-7331 at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2007 with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to the Humane Society or a Cancer Foundation of your choice. A special thanks goes out to the Doctors and Nurses of the Oncology unit of Lakeridge Health in Oshawa for all of the wonderful work they do.

Davy, Peter

passed away peacefully at the Reach View Village on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in his 89th year. Dear brother of Ian, and fondly remembered by his niece Jane (Glenn) Davy-Ward and nephew James Davy. Will be sadly missed by his great nephews Jeremy and John. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 main Street, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Monday, November 19th, 2007 for service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Cook, William Hilary

passed away at Reach View Village in Uxbridge on Thursday, November 15, 2007, in his 84th year. Hilary Cook dearly beloved husband of Louise of 55 years. Loving father of Verne and his wife Karen and Alec and his wife June. Dear grandad of Verne Jr. (Jill), and Burke and grampie to Rachel (Ben) Hazelwood, Susanna and David and great grandad to Kaleb. Predeceased by his parents William and Lily Cook, sister Rose Shears and brother Edgar and Godfrey. Hilary will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends in Ontario and Newfoundland. 1929-2007

Peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Son of the late Madeline and William Thomas. He loved and was loved by his childhood friend and wife Freda; children Michael (Pat) Thomas, Donna (Steve) Ball, Carol-Ann (Bill) Lowry and a neighbour's child (Lynn Davis); grandchildren Melissa (Mark), Kristin (Cory), Ashleigh (Clint), Jarrett, Lisa (Troy), Matthew, Catlin, David, Jesse, Jaime; and great grandchild Cameron. Brother-in-law to Reg (deceased) and Sadie, Hart (deceased) and Joy, Norm and Helen, LeRoy and Gerry, Bill and Carol, Ron (deceased) and Carol, Flo and Gord, Catherine (deceased), Jack and Ethel (deceased), Arthur (deceased) and Betty and Ken. Uncle to many nieces and nephews and a friend to all who knew him. Thanks to all the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital who made his passing an easier journey for him and his family. Armstrong, Margaret Jean (nee Howlett)
of Petrolia, Ontario

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of mom after a long struggle with cancer on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Much loved wife of 64 years of Arley Armstrong. Devoted mother to Lloyd Armstrong (Leslie-Jayne) of Ottawa, John Armstrong (Nancy) of Stouffville and Janet Lehman (Dan) of Epsom. Predeceased by Susan Elizabeth. Loving grandmother to Meredith (Todd), Laura, Matthew, Jessica, and Rachel Armstrong and Diane and Aaron Lehman. Predeceased by brother Ralph and sisters Marion, Verna, Helen and Minnie. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Chapel (905) 852-3073. Grimes, Judi (nee Sine)
May 18, 1958 - November 1, 2007

With tremendous sorrow we announce Judi's passing, peacefully at home with her husband Matt by her side, after a short, but valiant battle with cancer. married for 25 years, she will be missed beyond words by her husband Matt who was her high school sweetheart and best friend, and daughters Amanda and Shelly who were her pride and joy. Daughter of Joyce (deceased) and Don Sine, Judi came from a large family with five siblings who are heartbroken; Linda (Tom), Rodney, Wendy (Cliff), Ian (Lisette) and Heather (Mike). Her extended family, including sister-in-law Sue (Denny), many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and many will miss Judi. Judi treasured her home life with her wonderful family which also includes four dogs, two horses and one donkey. The Grimes home in Uxbridge, with its beautiful setting, has often been the location for large gatherings of family and friends, with Judi happily orchestrating the events. She also spent her time keeping Matt organized with the administrative duties related to his business and regular visits to her ailing father residing in Stouffville. Matt, Amanda and Shelly would like to thank family and friends for their support through this difficult time. Predeceased by his son Donald, Foster Parents Edith and Fred Marshman, Foster Brothers, Fred and Bert Marshman, Foster Sisters Florence Storry and Dorothy Williams. Precious Grandfather to nine Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. passed away peacefully at the Rouge Valley Hospital, Ajax on Friday, October 26, 2007 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond for over 63 years. Loving mother of Ken (Olive), Brian (Reta), and Kathy (Doug) Cummings. Proud Grandma of Janice, Wayne, Robert, Jackie, Rodney, Karen, Andrew, and Matthew. Great-Grandma to Garrett, Andrea, Mariana and Gabriel. Baster, Paul Hammond

Suddenly in hospital on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee: Jones). Loving father of Julia and her husband Paul Fraser and Katherine and her husband Jon Bryan. Very proud grandfather of Anika and Serena Fraser and Hannah Bryan. Dear son of the late Charles and Marjorie Baster and stepson of the late Elsie Baster. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Catherine, Linda, Mark, Nancy, Karen, and predeceased by Mary-Isabel and Margaret. He will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Though being diagnosed with Parkinson’s at an early age. Paul dedicated numerous hours helping others. Paul was an active leader in the community; he mentored and trained many young people in audio recording and editing at the professional level. He was also very interested in classic cars, auto racing and restoration. Heavily involved in the arts community, the United Church and Parkinson’s Society. Family and friends called at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Paul’s life was held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Trinity United Church 20 First Avenue Uxbridge at 2:00 p.m. In Paul’s memory, donations made to The Parkinson’s Society or Epson/Utica United Church would be appreciated.
