Shettler, Keith

Peacefully at the Port Perry Hospital on Saturday, January 13, 2007 in his 82nd year. Private Family Service was held on Sunday January 14, 2007. Cremation followed Services. Spring interment in Montreal, Quebec. In Keith’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Bollon, Margaret
(Retired R.N.A.)

passed away with her family by her side at home on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the age of 81. Loving mother of Andy and his wife Monique Bollon and Susie and her husband Dave Parkinson. Dear Oma of Billy Parkinson. Margaret will be sadly missed by her many friends. She has always loved animals and was well known for her strength, big heart and had the gift to give. At Margaret’s request, no funeral services will be held. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations to your local Animal Shelter, Humane Society or the World Wildlife Foundation would be appreciated.

MacLean / Nicholls, Eefje M.

Peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2007 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in her 67th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Kenneth Nicholls, Uxbridge. Loving mother of Thomas and wife Sandy of Kincardine, Kenneth and wife Michelle of Lucknow, Steven and wife Shannon of Campbell River B.C, Kevin and wife Tammy of Woodstock. Dear grandmother of Derek, Alannah, Kyle, Tucker, Madison, Benjamin, Caleb, Eric and Evan. Loving daughter of Gerritje Bakker of Wingham. Predeceased by her father Rimmer Bakker. Sister of Teade and wife Barbara Bakker, Marinus and wife Margaret Bakker of Auburn, Aantje and husband Tom Robinson of Wingham. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and family here and in the Netherlands, close friends, members of Mill Run Golf Course, and many colleagues from Ontario Hydro in Kincardine, Darlington, Pickering and KST Engineering. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Cremation to follow. If family and friends so desire, donations to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital would be appreciated, where Eefje was treated with so much care and compassion. Service in Wingham at later date, details to be forthcoming. We will all miss your beautiful smile and loving heart.

White, Doris Theresa

Passed peacefully away at Markham Stouffville Hospital while surrounded by her family and friends on Friday, January 5, 2007 at age 68. At her side loving husband Kenneth Huntington, her mother Theresa Russell, and father the late John White. Survived by eight children, eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters and five brothers. Predeceased by one son, five brothers and two sisters. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Doris’s life was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. As expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations sent in memory of Doris to the Lung Association.

Snoddon, Pauline Maude (nee Shier)

Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in her 83rd year. Sadly missed by her loving husband Ross of 64 years, dear mother of the late Eric (Susan) Sault St. Marie, Clare (Cindy) Oshawa, and Ray (Pauline) Uxbridge. Proud Grandma and Great Grandma of 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Howard (Eulah) Shier. Visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.. A Funeral Service was held at the Trinity United Church (20 First Avenue Uxbridge) on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 2:00 pm. with visitation one hour prior. Interment St. John cemetery , Sunderland. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, Uxbridge Community Care or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Perry, Laurine

With deep sadness Laurine Perry passed away at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Laurine leaves behind her loving husband Rev. Arthur Perry and her loving sister Grace Thompson (Tom deceased). Devoted mother of Don (Evelyn), Marie McElrea (Jack deceased), Carol Rose-Kudelka (John), Ralph (Joyce) predeceased by loving daughter Lucinda and her two sons Adam and Christopher. Devoted grandmother to Dale (Sharilyn-Lyn) Sandra Jefferies (Rus), Donna Vandershaaf (Dave), Robert Armstrong (Lorranie), John Armstrong, Brian Armstrong (Laurie), Rosanne Rose (Tony Lau), Deanna Rose (Kevin Barrington), Barklee Perry (Julie). Survived by 18 great grandchildren. The family received guests for visitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service was held at the Uxbridge Free Methodist Church (81 Reach Street) on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one-hour prior. In lieu of flowers donations to the MS Society would be appreciated.

Collingwood, Eileen Emily

On Saturday, January 6, 2007 at West Shore Retirement Village, Port Perry, in her 89th year. Eileen beloved wife of the late Frederick. Dear mother of Bram and his wife Wendy and Milton and his wife Margaret. Loving grandchildren Alyce, Kevin, Lindsay (predeceased) and Lee. At Eileen’s request there will be no memorial service.

West, Ethel Lavina nee: Kendry

Peacefully, one day before her 85th birthday. On Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Victoria Manor, Lindsay. Ethel, beloved wife of the late Harry (1976). Dear mother of Jean and Dave Clarke, Joan and Randy Clarke and Judy and Bruce Graham. Grandmother to Sheila Clarke, Ryan (Kate) Clarke, Ken (Amanda) Clarke, Sara (Kalon) Fowler, Raymond (Shannon) Potter, Sabrina (Rob) Locock, Samantha (Rob) Nicholls, Pamela (Dave) Babin, Tim Clarke, Jayce (Cassie) Clarke and Katelyn Clarke. Great grandmother to Megan, Hailey, Ethan, Emily Potter, Reilly and Addison Fowler, Nathan Clarke, Damien and Lannon Babin. Survived by her brother Jack Kendry of Sratford and her sister Muriel Dale of Oakville. Rested at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South , Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, January 5, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral service was held in the chapel on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. In Ethel’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

Sandison, Donna Marie

passed away with dignity and with her loving children by her side on Thursday, September 13th, 2007 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay in her 63rd year. Donna Sandison (nee Metheral) will be greatly missed by her family and friends especially by her loving children Christine and her husband Bruce Sterling and Jason and his wife Nicole Sandison. Loving gramma of Lauren, Chelsey, Jessica, Lachlan and new grandchild to arrive in December of this year. Dear sister of Shirley Ross and predeceased by her parents Peter and Alma Metheral. Donna has left a legacy of knitted blankets to her loved ones that will keep them warm with her memory in years to come. Family and friends may call at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry (905)-985-7331 on Thursday September 20, 2007 from 12 noon to 2p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donna will be held in the chapel on Thursday September 20, 2007 at 2 p.m.. Memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay would be appreciated..

Cotterill, Brian Douglas

passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital, in his 56th year. Brian was proud of his part as drummer of Abraham’s Children, a popular rock band from 1971 – 1976. He successfully was self-employed for 30 years in the Garden Centre business in Agincourt and then in Uxbridge. Son of the late Ron and the late Rita Cotterill. He’ll be so missed by his wife and soul-mate Ginny, his daughter Lindsay (Jason) Doherty and brother Bill (Karen) in Vancouver, sister Sharon (Bill) Cotterill-Cook. Adoringly known as Poppa, by his grandson Sam. He’ll also be missed by his dog Buttercup. At Brian’s request there will be no services held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Fund.

Hanson, Phyllis Kathleen

Peacefully with family by her side at home on Friday, September 7, 2007. Phyllis Kathleen Hanson passed away in her 78th year. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Roy Hanson, missed by daughter Cherry, son-in-law Doug, sister Steph, brother Terry, and will be remembered by grandson Zachary. Faithfully cared for by Tracy, Kim and Isabelle with deepest thanks from the family. A Memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society.
