BEGGS, Ross

BEGGS, Ross - Suddenly, at home, on Friday, February 15th, 2008 in his 70th year. Predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Ruby Beggs, of Cameron, Ontario. Ross was the loving husband and best friend of Margaret Ann (n�e Bate) for 42 years. His enthusiasm and generous spirit (as well as his well-honed talent for cooking and hospitality) will be sadly missed by his brothers Robert (Calla) and Orville (Audrey), brother/sisters-in-law Irene Purdy, Claire Bate and Florence (George) Butt, and his many very special nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. To celebrate his life, friends and family are invited to a memorial service and reception on Wednesday, February 27th at 12:00 noon, at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Road (northeast corner of Dixie Road, south of Highway 401), Mississauga. BRENTEL, Luigi

BRENTEL, Luigi (Gino) - passed away peacefully, at the age of 74, on February 16, 2008 in the Palliative Care Unit of Etobicoke General Hospital after a 10 month battle with cancer. Gino was born October 15, 1933 in Feltre, Belluno, Italy and came to Canada in 1957. His passion for his lifelong career as a painter/decorator was experienced by many. He will be missed by his beloved wife and childhood companion, Maria Pia, his daughter Gianna (Dino) and his son Carlo (Monique). He will always be remembered by his five grandchildren for his devoted love for them. Family and friends will be received at the DeMarco Funeral Visitation Centre, 8003 Weston Road, Woodbridge on Monday, February 18 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Woodbridge on Wednesday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m.

BURNHAM, Nancy Isabel (nee Jones) - At Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Ray Burnham. Dear mother of Marie and her husband Peter Forsyth and Betty and her late husband Donald Cowden. Loving grandma of Ronald, James (Kerri), and Kenneth (Beth) Forsyth, Maureen (Paul) Lang, John and Paul Cowden and Nancy (the late Jerry) Clarke. Great-grandma of Shannon, Tanya, Amy and Mary-Ann Lang, Jessica Forsyth and Jake Cowden. Predeceased by sister Ethyl, brothers Arthur, Harold, William and Ross. A visitation will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, 905-852-3073, on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour before. Spring interment Uxbridge cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, Community Care Durham, Uxbridge or Trinity United Church would be appreciated. BUTTIGIEG, Peter

BUTTIGIEG, Peter Paul - Quietly passed away after his long battle with cancer on February 16, 2008 at the age of 68. Will be dearly missed by his wife Rose. Devoted father to Joseph, Diane and Frank Zerafa, and Darlene and Shawn Giordmaina. He was a very loving grandfather to Peter Paul, David, Dylan, Tristan and Ethan. Loving brother-in-law to Carmena Muscat. Family and friends are invited to LYNETT FUNERAL HOME, 3299 Dundas St. W. (one block east of Runnymede Rd.), (416-761-1176). Visitation will take place Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church followed by his interment at Assumption Catholic cemetery.

CHAPMAN, Vernon

CHAPMAN, Vernon Buron - passed away on February 12, 2008, in his 85th year, after a brief illness at his home in Toronto. Vernon was a well respected member of Canada's acting fraternity. He excelled as an actor, director, teacher and in recent years as an author and historian of Canadian theatre. Vernon began his acting career as a teenager and continued to work in stage and screen productions across Canada well into his seventies. He also served on the chair of Canadian Actor's Equity from 1967 to 1970 and in 1974. As a director, he mentored many young and aspiring thespians and was revered by many who worked with him. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his friends and his family: Gary and Judy Chapman and their children Cheri Hicks (husband Bruce) and Shaun Chapman (wife Chantana), Doug and Gail Gray and children Sarah and John, and great-grandnephews Gavin, Brady, Robby and Ben. Cremation has taken place and a memorial "Celebration of Vernon's Life" will take place at Toronto's Performing Arts Lodges (PAL) on Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Donations to "PAL Toronto" at 110 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON M5E 1X9 will be greatly appreciated.

De ADDER, Minnie M. (nee Rhynold) - passed away peacefully at York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in her 80th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Stephen De Adder. Beloved mother of Lou (Gail), Dave (Cecilia), Tim (Debbie, Shannon), Steve (Denise) and Mike (Joy). Proud grandmother of Chris, Kim, Laura, Julie, Stefanie, Matthew, Justin, Melissa, Stephen, Cory, Britney and Jonathon. Great-grandmother of Daniel, Tyler, Devan, Alisha, Scarlett and Madison. Survived by her brothers Edward and Harley and her sister Lottie. Predeceased by her brothers Alfie, Lawson and James and her sister Frances. Daughter of the late Anthony and Ethel (nee Snell). Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. South, Newmarket for visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Beechwood cemetery , 7241 Jane St., Concord.

DUNLOP, Muriel Isabell

MURIEL ISABELL DUNLOP Muriel passed away peacefully, in Toronto, on Friday, February 15, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Remembered for her love, compassion and caring for others, Muriel leaves behind a loving husband and best friend for over 51 years Roy, her daughter Linda Snowden (Rob), her son Garry (Judy) as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon and Danielle Snowden and Hannah Dunlop. Her brother Bob Wilson and sister-in-law Marie from Winnipeg were a source of great strength and support throughout. Born in Winnipeg on August 31, 1933, Muriel and Roy moved to Toronto in 1962. Once settled into the community of Don Mills, Muriel became a very active member of her church - Church of the Ascension - where she held many positions including the ACW, Church choir, Rectors Warden and organizer of Coffee and Conversation for students attending ESL classes. Muriel was also a Director on the Don Mills Foundation. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21 in the CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION, 33 Overland Drive, Don Mills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Muriel to the Church of the Ascension Memorial Fund, 33 Overland Drive, Don Mills, ON M3C 2C3 and to the Princess Margaret Hospital, for Leukemia Research, 610 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5S 2M6.

ENGLER, Henry - passed away peacefully at the Trillum Health Centre on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Frances. Loving father of Helen and her husband Trevor. Devoted Dziadzia of Tyler and Meghan (Andrei). A special thank you to the Coronary Care Unit at Trillium Hospital. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Funeral Home, 436 Roncesvalles Ave. (at Howard Park Ave.), on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Paradise Mausoleum Chapel at Park Lawn cemetery (Prince Edward Dr. and Bloor St. W.). Interment Park Lawn Paradise Mausoleum. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

FRITZ, Anne

FRITZ, Anne - Peacefully at home on February 16, 2008 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Anton (Tony). Loving mother of Bonnie and her husband George Farrugia, Barbara Davis and Aaron Gulko and the late Eugene. Will be fondly remembered by daughter-in-law Elaine Fritz, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, a private family interment will take place at a later date. DUFF, Mary

DUFF, Mary Adele (nee Caughlin) - passed away peacefully Thursday, March 6, 2008 with friends and family by her side. Born to loving parents William and Teresa Caughlin (predeceased), Adele is survived by her sisters Rita and Margie, and brother Leonard. Loving mother to her children Sean and Tara. Adele is also survived by her son-in-law Michael and her precious granddaughter Lauren. Friends and family will be received at the Newbigging Funeral Home, 733 Mount Pleasant Road, Sunday, March 9th, from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anselm's Church, 1 MacNaughton Road on Monday, March 10th at 2 p.m., with a reception at the funeral home to follow. Memorial donations to Life Studios (416-850-0190) will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
