NOREEN ADA CARTWRIGHT (nee McBAIN)
April 24, 1913 - May 4, 2008
Noreen Ada McBain passed away peacefully at the Toronto Grace Hospital, May 4, 2008 at the age of 95 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Les Saules, Quebec beloved daughter to Henry Russell McBain and Florence May Sweet, she spent her early years attending school and working in Quebec City. Sister to Doris Lachapell (d. 2007) of Quebec City. In Montreal she was married to Thomas Albert Cartwright (d. 1982) for 38 years and raised three children, Richard (d. 2001) of Fayetteville North Carolina, Noreen and Kathleen of Toronto. Remembered by her extended family including cousin Harry Quinn of Toronto, Lillian Papp of Montreal and Brian Cyr of Waterloo, Quebec, daughter-in-law Ila of Fayetteville, North Carolina, 6 grandchildren including Jeffrey of Toronto, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many friends including Dorothy Sheppard-Laberge of Laval, Quebec. A career woman, she worked at Canadian Fuel Marketers (Ultramar) for 20 years until her retirement in 1978. Throughout she remained a devoted wife and mother who focused on family and creating a warm and loving home. An exceptional cook, she was renowned for her baking and family holiday celebrations. She also gave freely of her time to friends and family. In 1982 she relocated to Toronto and lived near her beloved Danforth for 15 years. A resident of Hilda's Retirement Residence until 2007. Her faith in Jesus Christ was strong and she was an active member of the Danforth Community Church. The family wishes to thank the Toronto Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Toronto Grace Foundation in memory of Noreen Ada Cartwright would be greatly appreciated. A private family service has been held.

ROBERT GEORGE JAMES (BOB) COUCHMAN
21 February 1937 - 3 May 2008
Suddenly, at Kingston Ontario, Bob Couchman, adventurer, campaigner, poet, friend and family man. Bob was the former Executive Director of Toronto and Whitehorse Family Service Associations, the Donner Foundation and other private philanthropic activities. In a career spanning five decades, he was active in dozens of causes related to social justice, especially in relation to families and young people. Bob had a profound spiritual connection to the wilderness, which took him from a boyhood in East Toronto, via Algonquin Park to the vast beauty of the Yukon and Northern B.C., where his heart truly felt at home. He leaves behind many loved ones - his immediate family and those he made his family during a lifetime of loving and connecting with others. We are Bruce Couchman, Barbara O'Sullivan (nee Couchman), Stephen Couchman, Michael Couchman, Frances O'Sullivan, Matthew Couchman, Ruth O'Sullivan, Samuel Couchman, Catherine Smart-Couchman, Brian O'Sullivan, Jane Couchman, Carolyn Moore, Kyn and Gwynne Barker, Bill Found and each of those who held him dear.
