HALONEN, John

HALONEN, John W. (P. Eng.) - passed away suddenly on July 9th, 2007. Beloved husband for 54 years, and best friend for 56 years, of Sheila Halonen. He is survived also by his loving children Jim and Karen, Greg and Donna, Sue and Mike, Chris, Becky and David, and Cindy, and nine grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his cats, Calli and Tess. Born on September 16th, 1933. married in January 1953. Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1958. John was an avid amateur musician for over 60 years, playing trombone with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra for 35 years. A private funeral service will be held in Georgetown on July 12th, 2007. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

HAWKSWORTH, William (Bill) "Skip"

WILLIAM (BILL) "SKIP" HAWKSWORTH Peacefully on July 9, 2007 after a short illness at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga. Loving husband and best friend of Lynne. Loving father of Jason, Craig (Laura) and Kyla. Proud GrandDad of Alexa and Ethan, brother of Jo Stewart, dear brother-in-law and uncle. Former President of Freeway Washer Ltd. Special thanks to friends and family, nurses and staff on 4D and ICU for all their support. A very special thanks to loved family son Dan Sheehan. Bill is resting at the funeral home of Skinner & Middlebrook Ltd., 128 Lakeshore Rd. E. (1 block west of Hurontario St.), Mississauga (parking off Ann St.) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at First United Church, 151 Lakeshore Rd. W., Mississauga on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 12 Noon. Cremation to follow.

ILLEK, John - passed away suddenly at home on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the age of 68. Beloved husband and best friend of Ida. Cherished father of Maria and John Jr. Proud grandfather of Adam and Stefan. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke, (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Dixie cemetery , Mississauga. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

INGRAM, Helen Mary - Peacefully at York Central Hospital Extendicare on Tuesday, July 9, 2007. Beloved mother of Pamela and Jane, and grandmother of Kate. Sister of Dorothy, Ruth, Shirley, Raymond, and the late Don, Thomas, and Joyce. A funeral service will be held at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie Drive) on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. LEHMAN, Dr.

LEHMAN, Dr. Ronald Paul - Born September 3, 1947, passed away on July 9, 2007 after a long and courageous fight. Paul, loving husband of Catherine Elizabeth, and proud father of four boys, Matthew Paul, Kristofer Ronald, Jared Wesley and Jordan Brandford of Uxbridge, is now dancing in heaven with his Lord and Saviour upon whom he waited. He is soaring with wings as eagles, running and not growing weary, walking and not fainting. Paul is united with his father, Harold Stanley Lehman, and leaves behind his devoted mother Marjory Afton Lehman of Agincourt, and caring brother Stanley Raymond Lehman and his wife Patricia May of Port Sydney, and mother-in-law Catherine Stewart. Paul was a dentist in Uxbridge from 1971 to 2000 and resided in Huntsville from 2001. Paul was blessed in countless ways and with many friends. Thank you from the family with our deepest appreciation to all the health care professionals in the Huntsville community who assisted in Paul's care with dedication, concern and professional expertise. Visitation will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Uxbridge Baptist Church. Interment Foster Memorial cemetery. Memorial donations in loving memory of Dr. Paul can be made to the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Huntsville Memorial Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital (Movement Disorders Clinic) or Uxbridge Baptist Church. MEDEIROS, Manuel (Manny) - Peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Toronto East General Hospital. Active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Loving husband of Sarah. Dear father to Jim and step-father to Michelle. Vavo to Jimmy and Skyla. Great-grandfather to James and Nolan. He will be sadly missed by his sister Eugenia and brother Jose of Portugal as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. LESTER LEONARD MENARY Born in Markdale, resided in Mississauga. passed away peacefully at Mississauga Trillium Hospital on July 8, 2007 after 84 full and healthy years, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Mavis Elizabeth Bishop. Loving father of Paul and Bruce. Caring grandfather of BettyAnn, Kimberly, Rebecca, Peter, Gabrielle and Katharine. Invaluable partner to June Taylor. The family would like to thank his caregiver Lynn, whose compassion and good humour allowed Len the comfort and humour he so deserved. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of ST. JAMES THE LESS cemetery , Toronto, 635 Parliament Street (at Bloor Street East) on Thursday, July 12 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

MENEZES, Joseph - Formerly from Saddar, Karachi, Pakistan, retired from Grindlays Bank, passed away on July 9, 2007 in Australia at 84 years. Father of Esther D'Souza, Lucas, Bosco, Victor and Hyacinth Menezes, father-in-law of Allen D'Souza, Anna, Ollie, Veronica and Christine Menezes, grandfather of Christine, Ryan, Wendy, Janice, Joeanne, Leonie, Victoria, Vince, Stefanie and Crystal.

BUTTERFIELD, Frank James

Peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, June 29th, 2007. Dearly loved husband of Vicki and father of Susannah. Survived by his big brother Jack (Winnie) and baby sister Meg (Cliff). Uncle Jimmy was loved by many nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Ponoka, Alberta on February 14th, 1936. He gave up his career in communications in 1981 to take on the role he most loved - Computer Guru Extraordinaire to a host of geeks and non-geeks drawn to the world of Commodore Computers. A private funeral has taken place and a celebration of Jim's life will be announced later in the summer. If you wish, you may remember Jim with a donation to your favourite charity. A heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff on 15B at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital, surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 31st, 2007, at the age of 81. Predeceased by her beloved husband Stefo. Devoted mother of Chrisoula (Tom Pavlidis), and Evangelie. Loving grandmother of Mark Pavlidis (Lenche), and Stefanie. Sister of Chrisanthi (Pando Sfirkas) and Michalis Vergas (Sofia). Sister-in-law of Vena Nedelku and Frosa (Ilo) Vassos. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road (between Eglinton and St. Clair Aves. E.) on Saturday from 5-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Clement of Ohrid Church (76 Overlea Blvd.). Interment Pine Hills cemetery. Thank you to Dr. Kevin Workentin, the nurses, and staff of the G5 Palliative Care Unit for their special care and support. Forever in our hearts.

Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on February 3, 2007 at Mount Sinai Hospital. Retired employee of Zurich Insurance. Loving husband of Olga. Beloved father of Clinton and his wife Bernadine. Cherished "Pappa" to Justin and Aidan. Dear brother of Alzira. Predeceased by Cajetan, Olga, Ida and Cynthia. Will be sadly missed by family and friends. Family and friends will be received at Highland Funeral Home Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court (north east corner of 404 and 16th Avenue) from 3-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday February 6, 2007. Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy's Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In memory of Innocent, donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

ALCOTT, Ernest "Ernie" -

Unexpectedly, but peacefully at the Wellington Terrace, Fergus on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007, in his 94th year, formerly of Port Colborne and Georgetown. Devoted husband of Edith for the past 71 years. Beloved father of Barbara and her husband Bob Yowart of Fergus and Bob and his wife Anja of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of David (Janet), Bradley (Leslie), Jeff and Susie and great-grandfather of Jesse, Alicia, Dylan and Bradley. Ernie was a WW II Veteran, and a long time member and served as a Sunday School Superintendant for the United Church of Canada and long time member and Past President of the Lions Club. Ernie will be remembered for his wonderful personality and his great sense of humour and will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. "May he rest in peace." Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment Greenwood cemetery , Georgetown. Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 at Extendicare Halton Hills. Vi, in her 92nd year, wife of the late William "Bill" Allen. Loving mother of Rod of Georgetown. Dear sister of Olive Conkey of Toronto and predeceased by her brother Raymond Jackson. Special thanks to Rhonda, Dianne and Shirley for their loving care. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Saturday, October 13th, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. Interment Hillcrest cemetery , Norval. In memory contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated.

DURHAM, Christopher

It is with deep sadness, that Chris' family announce his death. He died September 2, 2007, in Perth Australia where he was teaching at Carey Baptist College on a teacher's exchange. He is survived by his much loved wife Jennifer (nee Young), and his two lovely daughters Emily (8) and Sydney(6), his parents Duncan and Elaine Durham, brothers Rob (Jenn) and David, his in-laws Bob and Joyce Young and his brothers-in-law Kevin (Kerstin) and Brian. He will be greatly missed by his nephew James and nieces Brittany, Madeleine, Noelle of Toronto and Natasha of Ottawa, Nana Jan of Thornhill, and many aunts, uncles and friends. A memorial service for Chris has been held in Perth by his colleagues, students and friends. A second memorial service will be held at Markville Secondary School at McCowan Rd. and Carlton Ave. in Unionville, on September 26 at 6 p.m. Chris' family will meet with his friends and relatives in the library at the school from 5-6 p.m. and also after the memorial service. A trust fund has been established in the names of Emily and Sydney Durham. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to this fund, if so desired.
