Frances Pearl Bressette
Peacefully with her family by her side at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland, on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at the age of 69. Pearl Bressette of Victoria Harbour, beloved wife of David Bressette. Loving mother of Christine Sallows (Ross), Elizabeth Bressette (Rob) and Pauline Bressette (Edward). Loved by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Robert Byers (Nancy) of Alberta and John Byers (Patsy) of Victoria Harbour. Predeceased by brothers Marvin Byers and Grant Byers. Special friend of Tina & John Dixon and family of Port Severn. Pearl will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning, September 4, 2009, at 11 o`clock. Interment to follow at Victoria Harbour Union cemetery. If desired, memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Huronia District Hospital Ladies Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.

Coral Mary Johnston
Left us peacefully on Saturday December 19, 2009 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket in her 79th year. Loving wife of Donald Miller Johnston, and the late Herlof Eigel Christensen. Beloved mother of Susan of Barrie, Mark (Ruth) of North Bay, and Patricia-Ann (Darin) of Stratford. Devoted grandmother of Sara and Jacob. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Calvary Baptist Church, 598 King Street Midland, on Saturday afternoon, January 2, 2010 from 1 o’clock until time of Memorial Service at 2 o’clock with a reception to follow. Donations to Calvary Baptist Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Midland Public Library would be kindly appreciated by the family.

Donald Rice
Peacefully at the Villa Care Centre, Midland, on Saturday December 26, 2009 in his 81st year. Donald, beloved husband of Audrey (nee Atkinson). Loving father of Brent Rice of Burlington, the late Anne Widdess, the late Scott Rice and father-in-law of Tammy Rice and Kevin Widdess. Cherished grandfather of Kyle, Shelby and Riley. Survived by his sisters Jean English, Gwen Hawn and Barbara Blauel. Predeceased by sister Helen Burns and brothers Bill, Bob and Jack. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Wednesday afternoon, December 30th from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 o’clock, followed by cremation. If desired, Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

John Henry Burrage
Peacefully at the Huronia District Hospital on Tuesday January 12, 2009 in his 82nd year. John, beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Gillings). Loving father of John (Janine) of Victoria Harbour and the late Jill Garrett. Cherished grandfather of John (Alainna), James (Amanda-Jean), Graham (Terri), Kim (Dennis), Mark, Allan Garrett (Shelley, Christopher Garrett (Joanne) and great grandfather of Emily, Danielle, Eden, Abby, Portia, Anthony, Mia and Alora. Dear brother of Brenda, Eric and Irene all of England.
Cremation will be followed by the family receiving friends at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Saturday afternoon January 16th from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service at 1 o’clock. If desired, memorial donation to the Friends of Algonquin Park, the Midland OSPCA or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Memorial Tree will be planted by the J. H. Lynn Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes.

Raymond "Ray" Douglas Gauthier
passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland, on Friday February 5, 2010 with his family by his side. Ray Gauthier, born and raised in Penetanguishene, beloved companion for over 23 years of Vonna McKee; loving father of Tanya Gauthier (Tim Copeland) and Lori Gauthier (George Nagel) both of Barrie. Dear grandfather of Zachary and Benjamin Copeland. Survived by his sister Anita Cote of Midland and his brother Ken (Ann) Gauthier of Penetanguishene. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Roberta Gauthier. A private family cremation service has taken place. Memorial donations in Ray’s memory to a local food bank, the Salvation Army, or the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 68 Penetanguishene would be appreciated by the family.

Marion Louise Hicks (Nee Turner)
passed away peacefully at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Monday, February 7, 2011, in her 92nd year. Marion (nee Turner), beloved wife of the late Barney Foster Hicks. Loving mother of William “Bill” George, Brenda (Harvey) Cleaveley, Judi (Eldon) McIntyre, Brian (Jenny) Hicks, Marlene (Alan) Jones and Michael Hicks. Marion will also be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister in Nova Scotia, Phyllis Whynot. In keeping with Marion’s wishes there will be no service at this time. Cremation has taken place. If desired memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Mercie Ball (Nee Graveston)

At the Trillium Manor, Orillia, on Sunday February 6, 2011, in her 96th year. Mercie Ball was born in Severn Bridge on July 5, 1915, daughter of Thomas & Beatrice (nee Reaman) Graveston. Beloved wife of the late Edward Ball. Dearly loved mother of Christina Galindo (Rafael) of Ottawa and Jody Waugh (John) of Orillia. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Benita Rivera (Mike Nicholson), Angie Galindo (Fred Rouleau), Glenn Waugh (Beth Worden) and William Waugh, and her great grandchildren Tristan and Kaelan Rivera. Dear sister-in-law of Shirley Graveston of Orillia and Evelyne Gravestone of Gravenhurst. Predeceased by brothers Reaman, William, Stanley, Russell and Walter. Mercie graduated from the OSMH school of nursing in 1938. She had a steadfast love for her family and a great determination to see every project through to completion. Her hobbies included sewing, repairing and dressing antique dolls and gardening. She enjoyed the music of Bing Crosby. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Thursday afternoon, February 10, 2011 from 1 o’clock until time of funeral service at 2 o’clock. Interment St. Andrew’s St. James’ cemetery , Orillia. Donations in Mercie’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Friday February 4, 2011, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Wiltrude for 56 years. Loving father of Renald (Ron) and companion Lelia of London. Loved grandfather of Erin, Stephen and his wife Miho. Dear brother of Bernd Haertel & wife Renate of Germany. Uncle of Thomas, Gabi & husband Michael and their children Selina & Vanessa. Private family services were held. Cremation has taken place. At the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday February 1, 2011, in his 74th year. Bob Kent of Orillia, partner of Gwen Morrison of Orillia. Loving father of David Kent (Joanne) of Orillia, Donna Kent of Whitby and Kenneth Kent of Toronto.. Will be missed by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Survived by his brother Edward Kent (Lois) and predeceased by his sisters Margaret & Evelyn. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. passed away peacefully on Friday January 28, 2011 at Georgian Bay General Hospital in her 68th year. Carole, loving wife to John, will be sadly missed by her children Kirsten (Bill) Scott, Gary (Colleen), Michelle (Chris Lant), and Scott. Loving Daughter of the late Lincoln and Iris Jones. Carole’s memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Laura, Emily, Rachel, Jade, Adam, and Kapri, by her brother Howard, her sisters Sandra (Richard) Clennett and Beverly (Bob) DeVillers, and by her many nieces and nephews and close friends. Doris Elizabeth Renowden
passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Friday January 28, 2011 in her 80th year. Doris will be sadly missed by her daughters Anita (Brian) Mitchell, and Joy Montieul, by her grandchildren Jason, Sean, Jason, Lisa, and Paul, and by her 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Saturday February 5, 2011 at 1 o’clock.
