Richard "Dick" Gay
Peacefully at home on Saturday March 6, 2010, in his 81st year. Dick Gay of Midland, beloved husband of Zetta Gay. Loving father of David & wife Linda of British Columbia, Linda & husband Larry Atkinson of Waverly, Roy & wife Donna of Barrie. Loved grandfather of Eva & husband Cory and great grandfather of Sierra. At Dick’s request there will be no visiting or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains will take place at St. Mark’s Anglican cemetery , Midland, in the spring. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Friday April 9, 2010 in his 74th year. Chuck of Orillia Beloved husband of Wilma (nee Neilson). Loved father of Tamara Moore, Nicola Moore and step-father of Catherine Menard, Floyd Mathers and John Mathers. Cherished step-grandfather of Troy Mathers; Melissa, Lia, Jenna and Catherine Bylow; Kristine and Sarah Mathers; Steven, Carling, Ian and John Jr. Mathers and step-great grandfather of 5. Dear brother of Dr. Doug Moore (Gisele) of P.E.I., Bobby Bullen (Debbie) of Ottawa, Margaret (Peggy) Mark of Huntsville and brother-in-law of Jim and Joanne Nelson and their daughter Julie, Doreen Colborne, Linda and John Vezina and Helen DeWinter. Uncle of Heather (Mark) Abens of Huntsville and Jennifer Delyea and her daughter Ashley of B.C. Chuck will also be missed by other nieces, nephews, family and friends. John Lambert St. Germaine
Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Saturday April 10, 2010 in his 63rd year. John beloved father of Adam and Jeremy. Dear son of the late Barney and Mamie St. Germaine and brother of Lottie Newman, Cecilia, George and Joe St. Germaine and the late Dalton and Jim St. Germaine. John will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday afternoon, April 14th at 1 o’clock, followed by cremation. Edna "Babe" May Curran (Nee Wilkinson)
Entered into rest at Fenelon Court Long Term Care Centre, Fenelon Falls, on Tuesday March 30, 2010, in her 94th year. Babe was the beloved wife of the late Bill Curran (1990). Predeceased by her parents Roger & Mae Wilkinson, her brothers Stanley, Samuel, George & Roger and sister Marjorie. Babe will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Cathy Wilkinson, Diana Nichols, Betty Kirkaldy, Marlene Cole, Barbara St. Denis and nephews Gord and Don Wilkinson, her great nieces Diana & Leslie Kirkaldy, Patricia Nichols and great nephew David Nichols. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Anne Wilkinson. Babe will be missed by all her friends and many other relatives.. Babe was and avid golfer and enjoyed curling. A private family interment will be held at St. Andrew’s St. James’ cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family. Rev. William "Frank" Franklyn Edney
Passed peacefully at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill on Sunday March 7, 2010 in his 94th year. Frank, loving husband to Dorothy, will be sadly missed by his children Martha (Joseph) Dyson of Midland, Susan Edney of Calgary, Christine (Dennis) Phillips of Richmond Hill, and Terri (Eric) Rossiter of Orillia. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Adrienne, Dawn, Amy, Holly, and Brendan, and by his great-grandchildren Parker, Keegan, Layla, Aislin, Maximus, and Kristian. Frank started his ministry at St. Columbia in Scarborough, and served as Anglican Priest at the Church of the Good Shepard in Stayner, St. Philips in Unionville, St. Davids, St. Athanasius, and St. James in Orillia, St. Paul’s in Midhurst, and Wycliffe in Elmvale. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church Thornhill on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 2 o’clock. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Couchiching Jubilee House and would be appreciated by the family. Robert ""Max - Mr. Thunder Beach"" Maxwell Drummond Craig
Peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Sunday, March 7, 2010, in his 96th year. Max Craig, beloved husband of Eva Craig (nee Bell). Loving dad of Robert (Bob) Craig of Key Largo, Florida and Barbara Craig of Miami, Florida. Predeceased by his brother Austin Craig. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday Morning, March 13, 2010, at 11 o’clock. Spring interment, Wyevale cemetery , Wyevale. Nancy Lillian Stinson (Nee Edwards)
passed away after a lengthy battle with Cancer, with her loving husband Norman Stinson and her family by her side, Nancy has gone to be with her Lord. Predeceased by her parents Cecil Edwards and Helen Vandusen, her mother-in-law of Elizabeth Snache, and her first husband Murray Roy Snache (1956 – 1979). Loving mother of six children; Lillian Snache, Gerry Snache, Charles “Ben” (Anita) Snache, Stephen Snache (predeceased), Edward (Jodi) Snache, and Maureen (Ralph) King all of Rama. Sister-in-law to Geraldine (Chester) Stiles, and aunt to their children Byron, Barry, Barton, Becky, Bonnie (predeceased), and Bernie (predeceased); Lewis (Velma Graham) Snache, Richard (Winona) Snache, and aunt to their children Richard Snache Jr., David Snake, Timothy Snache, Scott Snache, and Craig Snache; Myrna (Walter) Watson, and aunt to their children Linda Ledrew, Laurie Watson, Sandra Campbell and Karen Watson-Hart. Nancy’s sister Helen (Charles) Shinners was a pride and joy to her and she thought of her as a daughter. Step mother of Timothy Stinson, Curtis Stinson, Laurel Kensit, Sherry Stinson, Christopher Stinson, Deanne Stinson, and Ruth Fournier. Nancy has ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and extended children in Rhea Snache, and Ernie Sandy. Nancy was a dear friend to Garnet Shilling (predeceased), Murdoch Commanda (predeceased), Nora Sawyer, and Jim & Pauline Mackie. Sister of Gerald Edwards (predeceased), John Edwards of Sutton, and George Snache of Georgina Island. Sister-in-law of Sharon (Walter) Henry, Wendy (Larry) Cooke, Frances (Leif) Jensen all of Orillia, Helen Nault (Bob Allan) of Bowmanville, and Dave (Alma) Stinson of Rama. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Rama Full Gospel Church (6066 Child Road, Rama) on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM A funeral service will be celebrated at Rama Community Hall (5950 Rama Road) on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 1 o’clock. Internment at a later date, Rama cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family if desired.

Hilda "Ruth" Ruth Dean (Nee Short)
Passed peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday February 24, 2010 in her 79th year. Ruth, predeceased by husband Edward, will be greatly missed by her children Gregory (June) Dean, Gloria James, April (Bill) Oliver, Rodney (Sherry) Dean, Daniel (Lori) Dean, Suszanne Mawson, and Carrie Bloom. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Gary, Barry, Whitney, Matthew, Maddison, Stacey, Christopher, Amanda, Rachel, Mitchell, Grayson, Morgan, Clayton, and Cory, and by her great grandchildren Justyce, and Mikhail. Fondly remembered by her brothers George, Ralph, Arnold, Albert, Jim, and Charles Short, and by her sisters Hazel Cuddy, Phyllis Dillman, and Mary Frank, and by extended family in Windsor. Ruth is predeceased by her brother Clayton Short, and sister Ellen Leeder. The family will Receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Mildred "Millie" Elizabeth Jane Laughlin (Nee Woods)
passed away peacefully at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Monday February 22, 2010 in her 97th year. Millie, predeceased by her husband Melvin, will be sadly missed by her sons Ted Laughlin and Dalton (Chris) Howell, and by her daughters Phyllis (Terry) Jackson and Marlene (Ralph) Guliano. Mildred’s memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Andy, Lori, Bonnie, Linda, Thomas, Terry, Brandon, Rafael, and Angelo, by her great grand-children Michael, Selina, Travis, Takoda, Tianna, Joey, David, and Lia, by her brother Lloyd Woods, and by her daughter-in-law Jenna Schick. Millie is predeceased by her brothers Bill and Tom, and by her sisters Emma and Margaret. The family will Receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Harry Taylor
(WWII Veteran)
At the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday February 18, 2010, at the age of 86. Harry Taylor of Orillia, beloved husband of the late Helen Taylor. Loving father of David & wife Pat of New Brunswick, Beryle predeceased, Don & wife Geri of Alberta, Donna & husband Randy Klein and Wendy Taylor all of Orillia. Harry will be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by his brothers Bruce, Lloyd, Mel and Wes. Predeceased by his sister Vi. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Robert "Bob" William Armstrong
passed away suddenly at home on February 15, 2010. Robert Armstrong, of Orillia, formerly of Hespeler, in his 56th year; beloved step-dad to Marj (Joe) Meiers of Cambridge, Tracy (Jim) Wolfe also of Cambridge, Terry (Tammy) Zieman of Edmonton AB, and Andy (Angela) Cameron of Rimbey, AB. Loving papa to Jeremy, Jessica, and Ben Meiers; Nicole and Lauren Kells; Becky and Bryce Zieman; and Amanda Cameron. Dear brother of Wendy Armstrong of Waterloo. Predeceased by his parents Marcella and Lorne Armstrong. Bob will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends, and co-workers. It has been Bob’s wish to have his body donated for science; there will be a memorial gathering held on March 6, 2010 at Ernie’s Roadhouse (7 Queen Street West, Cambridge) from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Robert was a long standing resident of Hespeler, and owner/operator of Beehive Taxi, has spent over 30 years as a truck driver, and is part of the Million Mile Club with Jackson Transport, Orillia.
