Passed peacefully at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia after a brief illness on Monday June 17, 2013 in his 84th year. John is predeceased by his wife Jeanne, and will be sadly missed by his son John and wife Karen, and by his grandson John Matthew. John graduated from St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto) and retired from the family business (Canada Electric Casting Company). John was a sports enthusiast throughout his life, playing hockey, lacrosse, baseball and golf. He became a dedicated coach and member of the executive of CYO Hockey, and was a long-time member of the Couchiching Golf and Country Club. passed away peacefully on Friday June 7, 2013 at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Penetanguishene, with her family by her side. Joyce Stacey, of Victoria Harbour; survived by her loving husband Jim Carpenter. Loving mother of Wanda, Peter, Randy, Velvet, Barbara, and Jerry; dear grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren all who she loved and lived for so much. Survived by her sisters Joan, June, Shirley, and Marlene; and brother Dean. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Margaret Stacey, daughter Laurie, brothers Ed, Don, Tom, Harold, Clarence, and Larry. Her passion for life and love for her grandchildren kept her going. She was always there to help when anyone was down and out; never walking away when she could do good. It is with great sorrow that the Munro family announces the death of our beloved Joyce. She leaves a family who will greatly miss her and cherish her memory. Dearly loved wife of John C.C. Munro for sixty-four years (and the late Norman Fitton, Pilot Officer, deceased 1944). Her children Heather (Gordon Gauthier), and Bruce (Sheila), forever Nana to her grandchildren Sarah E. Gauthier of Wellington, New Zealand, Michelle Gauthier of Cornwall, Courtney Munro (Rob Calvert), Jordan Munro (Melissa), and Ashley (Kevin Haire). Her grandchildren were her treasures and her delight. Loving great Nana Joyce to her great granddaughter Maeve Gauthier, and great grandsons Jack Munro and Ethan Calvert. Beloved sister of Amy Stone, Kingston; predeceased by her brother Alfred Craske, and her sister Elizabeth Riggall both of England. Beloved aunt of Elizabeth Hewitt, Ruth Sorsby, and Paul Craske of England; Robert (Heather), Michael, and Jeffery Stone of Kingston. She was intelligent, sometimes formidable, leavened always by a wonderful warmth and sense of humour, and she was to the end stoic and dignified. Joyce spent her final years in Midland near John, who fought for her comfort and dignity until her last day. She lived every day with grace and purpose. She was loyal, supportive and patient, a role model for all.
