Deborah Louise Downer (Nee Lagree)
With sadness the family announces the passing of Debbie Downer on Thursday May 2, 2013 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie in her 56th year. Beloved wife Jim Downer of Waubaushene. Dear mother of Stephanie and her husband Lloyd Dion of Midland. Loving nana to Cameron and Bailey. Cherished daughter of Rosemary Lagree and the late Raymond. Sister to Colleen and her husband Bob Wellington, Susan and her husband Claude Labelle both of Sudbury, Donna and her husband Richard Maurice of Lafontaine, and Brian Lagree of St. Catharines. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday May 11th 2013 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Carson Funeral Homes - J.H. Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland. (705) 526-6551. Private interment at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Martin Leonard Deschamps
passed away on Friday April 12, 2013 at home with his family by his side after a brief illness. Martin Deschamps, of Midland, in his 59th year; beloved husband of Maureen Deschamps (nee Smart). Loving father of Marc (Carole), Lisa (Will), and Patricia-Lynn (Jamie). Dear papere of Adam, Cody, Jessica, Chelsea and Travis. Martin will be sadly missed by his brother and sisters also by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Leonard Stephen
passed away peacefully on April 12, 2013 at Hillcrest Village in Midland, Ontario in his 92nd year. Leonard, loving husband to Doris, will be sadly missed by his sons Paul (Sue) and Brian, and by his daughters Deborah and Patricia (Peter), and by his grandchildren Michelle, Matt, Amy, Christopher, Victor, Christine, Gregory, Caylea, and Brett. A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 1 o’clock. Victor McCallum
passed away peacefully on Sunday April 7, 2013 at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Penetanguishene, in his 93rd year. Victor McCallum, of Midland, beloved husband of the late Beatrice Phinney. Loving father of Marlene Malott of Midland and the late Diane McCallum and the late Melvin McCallum. Dear grandfather of Dean (Paula), Jason, Darren, and Scott (Lisa); great grandfather of Jaden, Madeleine, Sebastian, and Malcolm. Survived by his son-in-law Dale Malott and daughter-in-law Evelyn McCallum, brother Wayne McCallum, and sisters Grace McLaughlin, Clara Johnson, and Gail McCallum. Predeceased by his brothers John, Hugh, and Douglas; and sisters Janet and Mary. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Wednesday April 10, 2013 from 11:00 until the time of funeral service celebrated in the chapel at 1 o’clock. Barry George McMurdy
passed away peacefully on Sunday June 23, 2013 at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia in his 76th year. Barry McMurdy, of Severnbridge; loving father of Nelson (Patricia) of Washago, and John (Patti) of Sebright. Dear grandfather of Morgan, John, and Tim; and Tyler, Brett, and Nicole; great grandfather to Bailey. Dear companion of Gerry Weiss of Orillia and her family. Survived by his sister Diane (Bert) Lee, and brothers Donny (Denise), and Brian (Cheryl); and by his cousin Ken (Linda) Coulson. A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at 11 o’clock at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595. Doreen Marie Hogan
Peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Penetanguishene, on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at the age of 85. Doreen Hogan, beloved wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) Hogan. Loving mother of John Hogan, David Hogan (Elaine), Laurie-Ann Lewington (Mark). Loved grandmother of John Hogan (Jennifer), Joanna Hogan, Scott Hogan (Jennifer) Michelle Yoksimovich (Steve) and Breanna Lewington. Cherished great grandmother of Alicia, Emma, Ryker, Nash, Hailey and Hanna. Survived by her daughter-in-laws. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Church of the Guardian Angels on Saturday June 22, 2013, at 10 o’clock. Interment , Pine Hills cemetery , Scarborough. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Parish Prayers will be held in the Doolittle Chapel on Friday evening at 7:30 P.M.

David Bruce Payne
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we say good bye to David Payne after his courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2013 in his 57th year. Dave was the beloved husband of Susan Payne (nee Moran) who has been lovingly by his side every moment. Dave so loved and cherished his daughters Courtney and Alli and adored his grandchildren Bryce, Kale and Emery. David Bruce Payne was the son of Marion & Kenneth Payne both predeceased. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Randy, Rudy, Rod and their families. His wonderful sense of humour and crazy ass dancing will be missed by all that knew him. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate David’s life will be held in the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Friday morning June 7, 2013, at 11 o’clock. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Theresia Marie Bakker (Nee Kruiper)
passed away suddenly at the King Place, Midland, on Sunday May 5, 2013 in her 88th year. Theresia Bakker, of Midland, beloved wife of the late Bill Bakker. Loving mother of John and his wife Gail of Midland, Johanne and her husband Brent Coates of Ottawa, Brian and his wife Dawn of Barrie, and Dianne Columbia of London. Lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers Herman, Edward, Ton, and Joe; and sisters Cornelia, Johanna, Rie, and Femia; all of Holland. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Wednesday from 7 – 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 9, 2013 at 10 o’clock at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Midland; interment to follow at St. Margaret’s cemetery. Memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family if desired. Parish Prayers will be said in the chapel on Wednesday evening.

Catherine Jean Richardson (Nee Clark)
passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Sara Vista nursing Home, Elmvale, with her family by her side. Catherine Richardson, of Midland, in her 92nd year; loving mother of John and his wife Jane of Richmond BC, and Daniel and his wife Grayce of St. David’s. Loving grandmother of Kim, John (Karen), Scott (Jacquie), Mark, and Brad; great grandmother of Samantha, Alexandria, Jordyn, and Matthew. Survived by her brother Jim Clark; predeceased by her brother William Clark. Family and friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Thursday May 9, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Anglican-Lutheran Church, 307 Third Street Midland, on Friday May 10, 2013 at 11 o’clock. Memorial donations to St. Mark’s Anglican-Lutheran Church or the Serenata Choir would be appreciated by the family if desired.

Julia "Julie" Anne Hannon
passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Penetanguishene on Thursday April 25, 2013 in her 58th year. Julie Hannon, of Midland; loving wife to Paul, will be sadly missed by her children Matthew and his wife Angela, Jennifer and her husband Wayne Donnelly, and Amy and her fiancée Jeffrey Lowe. Julie’s memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Curtis, Ashlyn, Justin, and Aleea, as well as by her mother Wilma Tamblyn, and by her sisters Joy Barton and Jane Rehbeli and their families. Julie was an avid boater out of Bayport Yacht Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lindsay, on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow at Eden cemetery. Memorial donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family if desired.

Elizabeth Kidd Wilson (Nee Burns)
passed away peacefully on Saturday November 3, 2012 at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland in her 77th year. Elizabeth Wilson, of Midland, beloved wife of Henry Wilson. Loving mother of Marion Buttler of Burlington, and Ian and his wife Sophia Wilson of Thornhill. Dear grandmother of Melanie and her husband Mike, Jennifer, Kristopher, and Matthew, and Mackenzie; great grandmother of Joseph. Survived by her sisters Marion (Franek) Gryzbowski and Anna (John) Aitken both of Scotland. Private family arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family if desired.

Lois Jean Hughes
Passed suddenly on Friday November 2, 2012 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in her 78th year. Lois will be sadly missed by her husband Nick Vecchiarelli, by her daughter Kimberly and son Richard (Donna), by her grandchildren Lindsay, Mark, Courtney, and Amanda, and by her great grandson Jacob. A memorial service will be held at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 1 o’clock. If desired memorial donations may be made to The Chance 2 Dance and would be appreciated by the family. “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”

Kathleen Alma Milligan
Passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 with her loving husband John at her side. Kathleen, who was in her 62nd year, will be sadly missed by her husband John, brother Glen (Gillian), nephew Ryan and niece Meghan, sister-in-law Kathy (Navarro) and niece Summer Sims, brother-in-law Mark (Susan) as well as her special cousin Linda Sommer (Stan) and many loving friends. The family will receive friends at St. Paul’s United Church (62 Peter St. N, at the corner of Peter St. and Coldwater Rd.) on Wednesday, November 7 from 1 pm until the time of a Celebration of Life Memorial at 2 o’clock. Refreshments will follow the service. All activities will take place in the banquet hall of the church. If desired, memorial donations may be made to any organization involved in the care of animals, a special interest of Kathleen’s, or to any alternate charity.
