BOYER, Rita (Gauvreau) - passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at West Oak Village Long Term Care Facility in Oakville, Ontario with her children by her side. She was in her 87th year. Dearly loved mother of Cécile Leach, Louise Loomis, Raymond (Colline) and Denise (Doug Palmer). Beloved grandmother of Kenneth (Susan) and Steven (Dana) Leach, Dawn, Megan and Melissa Loomis, Justin (Mélanie) and Céleste Boyer. Her great-grandson Tomas will remember her with tenderness. Dear sister of Violette Mantha (late Rodolphe), Beth Mason (Al), Gilberte Gauvreau-Gagné (late Léodor), Reina Bourdeau (late Jean- Louis), Annette Boudier (Bill), Bernard (Lina), Roger (Helen), Ray (late Audrey), and Victor (late Shirley). Predeceased by her parents, Lorenzo Gauvreau and Argentine Landry, four brothers, William, Wilfrid (late Annette), Joseph, Oscar (Gisele-surviving), her sister, Dolores (late Allan Winkler) as well as her two sons-in-law Ted Leach and Joe Loomis. During her life Rita was very involved in her community. For many years she was a member of Les Dames de Ste-Anne with her parish St.- Vincent-de-Paul. She was actively involved with the 'Ladies of the Royal Purple' for 50 years. Rita served as Honoured Royal Lady, Past Honoured Royal Lady and was awarded a Lifetime Membership. While residing at the Golden Age Centre on Worthington Street she also served on the Board. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St.- Vincent-de-Paul, Friday, June 26, at 11:00 a.m. Her final resting place will at All Saints Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery. Predeceased by his brother Howard (Martha) Breen and his sister Doris O'Brien all of Nova Scotia. Bernie was born in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia. Dear son of the late Joseph and Florence (DeCoste) Breen. Bernie was a Royal Canadian Navy Veteran. He served five years in Canada and over seas in the Second World War. Bernie was a Master Mechanic at Domtar Fine Paper in Toronto for over 15 years and at Domtar St. Catharines for over 18 years. Bernie was also a long time parishioner at St. Alfred's Church.
