Burton Allister Kilby

KILBY, Burton Allister - In loving memory of Burt Kilby who passed away May 11th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site at the age of 85. Loving husband of Marcella (Sullivan) Kilby, dear father of Terrence (Jane), Gayle Arsenault (Gilles). Loving grandfather of Laurie (Banff, Alberta), Kerrie, Danielle and Matte of Lively. Dear brother of Walter (Edna predeceased) and Preston (Lorraine) of Golden Lake, sister Orlay Barks (Austin predeceased) Ottawa, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend much appreciation and gratitude to Dr. P. Bayly, Lively Medical Clinic and the dedicated nurses, therapists, recreational staff and volunteers at the Laurentian Site. What a wonderful caring group, he had for so many years, as he struggled with Multiple Sclerosis. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (Sudbury Branch) or Children's Wish Foundation. At his request there will be no visitation or service, a private family burial. Arrangements by the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, Regent St. Sudbury.

Allen Gary Macgillivray

MacGILLIVRAY, Allen Gary - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Allen Gary MacGillivray, on Friday, May 8th, 2009, at the age of 50 years. Father of Leslie and Stacy of British Columbia. Much loved brother of Brenda Spencer (Wayne) and Sandra MacGillivray (Dave Larsen). Uncle to Matthew, Kevin and Stephanie Spencer, Jeff, Greg and Cameron Larsen all of Garson. Allen was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Elma MacGillivray, in 1977. Special cousin of Betty Martin, Brian, Wendy and Wayne Gates. Lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins in Nova Scotia. Allen was a kind and gentle soul with a mischievous sense of humour which, mercifully, never changed after his brain injury. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15th, 2009, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Garson, at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the House of Kin, 1889 Regent Street South, Sudbury, if you so desire.

Irene Elizabeth (nee Melnyk) Gravelle

GRAVELLE, Irene Elizabeth (nee Melnyk) - In loving memory of Irene Elizabeth (nee Melnyk) Gravelle, 66 years, who passed away Sunday, May 10th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph Health Center. Beloved wife of Kempton Gravelle of Sudbury. Loving mother of Sean, Richard (wife Gillyan) and Cory all of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Leah and Brendan. Dear daughter of Eugene and Sofia Melnyk both predeceased. Dear sister of Mary (husband Gerald Chamberland) and George both of Sudbury, predeceased by her twin Bohdah “Bob“. Dear aunt of Darren, Jennifer, Jodi, Lisa, Amanda, Kimberly, Owen, Katerina, Kristen and Jacob. Special friend of Anna Ross. Born in Germany, she married Kempton in Sudbury in 1971. Irene worked at Bell in Toronto and at Bamboo Gardens and Golden Griddle in Sudbury. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 5th Floor Special Care Unit at St. Joseph Health Center for their care and kindness. Memorial Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St at Hazel St. Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 at 1 PM Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated. (Friends may gather after 12:30 pm Wednesday)

Dr. Patrick Joseph Farrell

FARRELL, Dr. Patrick Joseph - 1925- 2009. At Sudbury Regional Hospital, Dr. Patrick Joseph Farrell passed away on May 11, 2009 in his 84th year. Born on December 26, 1925 in Port Colborne, son of Maurice Joseph Farrell and Josephine (Bushman). The family moved to Copper Cliff in 1929 where he and his 10 siblings grew up together. He is predeceased by his brother Father Francis, S.J., sisters Rita and Margaret Cainen (Larry deceased). Other family members are Sister Mary C.N.D., Rose Heffernan (Burt deceased), Monsignor Raymond, Bernadette, Dr. Maurice (Ginny) and Maureen. He graduated from Medical School at Queen's University in 1949, interned at St. Michael's, Sunnybrook and Wellesley Hospitals in Toronto. He married Barbara in 1955 and returned to Sudbury in 1956. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology and practiced at the Sudbury General Hospital from 1956 until 2004. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee McDonald) and loving father to Shelagh (Robert Dabous), Jennifer, Joseph (Pamela Montgomery), Martha (Wayne Auchinleck), Norah (Kevin Sugden), Sara (Keith McDonell), and John (Trisha Bernier). Proud grandfather ot Emily (Justin Taylor), John and Elizabeth Dabous, David Gilmour, Ben and Andrew Coulombe and Laura Auchinleck, Charlotte Sugden, Sophie and Julia McDonell, Joseph and Gordon Farrell. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Sawkiw, the staff of Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, the Elizabeth Centre and Sudbury Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 at 10 a.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. Prayers 3 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted by the Sudbury Regional Hospital OBS/GYN Equipment Fund. (Friends may call 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday only).

Jean-Marie Lefebvre

LEFEBVRE, Jean-Marie - Peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Jean-Marie Lefebvre, beloved husband of Lillianne St. Louis and predeceased by his first wife Thérèse Galipeau. He is survived by his son Luc (Christine) and his daughter Carole (René Guitard) and his grandchildren: Émilie Bonneville (Scott), Mathieu Lefebvre, Michèle, Manon and Maxime Guitard. Sadly missed by Lucie (André Forget) and Marc St. Louis (Tracy) and their children. Dear son of the late Omer Lefebvre and Germaine Denis. Survived by his sisters, Janine Quesnel (Henri) from Crysler, Réjeanne Lefebvre from Casselman and his brothers Rev. Denis Lefebvre from Berwick, Réjean Lefebvre (Jeannine) from Cornwall, Rev. Gaetan Lefebvre, csv from Ste-Luce- sur-mer, Québec, Jean-Claude (Louise) from Val-des-Monts, Québec, Germain Lefebvre (Carmen) from Casselman and predeceased by one brother Reynald. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Resting at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, East Branch, 614 First Street East, Cornwall, Ontario (613-933-2841). Visitation Friday, May 8th 2-4 and 7-10 and Saturday, May 9th from 9 to time of Funeral. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Félix de Valois Church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

James Bruce Mckay

McKAY, James Bruce - Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on May 5, 2009 in his 61st year. Beloved son of the late Alice and Bruce McKay. Dear brother of Diana and Joseph McKay. Predeceased by his son Jamie and by a brother David and a sister Barbara. A private graveside service will be held at New Dublin Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with the IRVINE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 4 James St. East, Brockville.

VIAU, Micheline - At the Ottawa General Hospital on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Micheline Viau (nee Boudreault) of Bainsville, formerly of Cornwall; age 67 years. Beloved wife of Leo-Paul Viau. Loving mother of Gaston Viau (Nicole) and Carole Viau both of Cornwall. Dear sister of Louisette Marleau (Gerald) of Bainsville, Marcelle Boudreault of St. Hubert, Quebec, and Guy Boudreault of Cornwall. Predeceased by one brother Donald Boudreault. Dear daughter of the late Gerard Boudreault and the late Gracia Plante. Also survived by three grandchildren Sophie (Trevor Nash), Eric and Michel. Relatives and friends may call at the MUNRO & MORRIS FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 2-5 pm and 7-10 pm and on Wednesday from 9 am until 9:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lancaster on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10 am. Interment will follow in Notre-Dame Cemetery, Cornwall. Margaret L. (née Goulais) Stevens

STEVENS, Margaret L. (née Goulais) - 1955-2009 - The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls, Monday May 11, 2009, at the age of 53 years. Daughter of Levina (née Commanda) Goulais of Jocko Point and of the late Harold Goulais. Loving wife of David Stevens of Garden Village. Dear mother of Penny Bois-Grossiant (Patrick) of North Bay and Noel of Garden Village. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chase and Carver and by her niece Lynda Jawbone and her nephew Kevin Goulais. Also survived by her brother Francis Goulais and by her sister Claire Goulais of North Bay. Predeceased by her brother Gerald Goulais. The family will receive friends at the THÉORET BOURGEOIS FUNERAL HOME, Sturgeon Falls Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. Thursday friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday May 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
