passed away at his residence in Elliot Lake Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in his 80th year. Survived by his 2 brothers Elmer of Sarnia and Jack (wife Florida) of Blind River. He is the son of the late Bill and Anne Gordon of Blind River. Ellwood will be remembered by his many nephews and nieces. Ellwood grew up in Blind River but has resided in Elliot Lake for the last 33 years. Resting at the Calvary Gospel Church in Blind River from 1 p.m. with service to be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jack DeVrie officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. (Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home, Blind River).

passed away at the General Hospital on Saturday, September 4th, 2004 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Anne. Predeceased by his brother George and sisters Olga Hupponen, Ilta Nieminen and Aurora Groondahl and Silja Rajala of Finland. Dear Uncle of Eino Hupponen (Sylvia) and the late Helen Barbeau (late Gerry), Richard Nieminen (Nelda), Betty Ann Henderson, and nieces and nephews in Finland. Sadly missed by his great nieces and nephews. Grandmother of Eric, Doug, Dwayne and Beverley Stone, Martin and Jeffrey White, David, Chris and Thomas Beaudette, Susanne Allman and Leslie Hallman. Great grandmother of 15. Dear sister of Marie Stone-Nokes (Jim), Gordon Rowat (Marion), Neil Rowat (Edna) and the late Percy Rowat, Bob Rowat and Minerva Rains. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. of St. Cloud, FI and Batchawana Bay, Ontario, Canada, formerly of Davison, age 81 passed away Friday, September 10, 2004 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Fr. George Puraidam, M.S.F.S. celebrant. Burial in Mt. Loretto Catholic Cemetery, Lapeer. Mrs. Goyette will lie in state at Allen Funeral Home 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, where the family will receive visitors 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 p.m. Monday and 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Foundation. Patricia was born January 26, 1923 in Traverse City, MI, daughter of the late Mary (Paffhausen) and Charles May. Patricia May married Paul Goyette in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1999. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Cloud, FI. Patricia enjoyed china painting and classical music. She is survived by her children Steve (Nancy McAnsh) Goyette, John (Debbie) Goyette, Mary Goss, Chris (Jeanette) Goyette, Nancy Goyette, Jeanie Sturgeon; 9 grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth (Larry) Cloutier, Gretchen (Roy) Speer and sister-in-law Juanita May. She was preceded in death by sons Bart and Bill Goyette and 6 siblings.

Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Saturday, September 11, 2004, Mr. Randy L. Hodgson of London. Beloved husband of Catherine (Donley) Hodgson and son of T.E. “Husky” Hodgson of Sault Ste. Marie and the late Annie Hodgson. Dear brother of Barry Hodgson and his wife Kathy Douglas of Guelph. Murray Hodgson of Detroit and Katherine Haverstock and her husband David of Hammonds Plains, N.S. Also survived by his niece, Brittany, his nephews Matthew, Ken and Ben as well as his brother-in-law Charles Donley and his wife Dorothy and their children Charles John and Laura. Randy was a chartered financial planner in London and area for over 30 years and also owned and bred Standardbred Horses. Randy was an avid sportsman as a member of the Junior “B” Greyhounds hockey team in Sault Ste. Marie and as a tennis player in London. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the service will be conducted on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Randy are asked to consider the Parkwood Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit or the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Centre.

passed away at the Blind River District Health Centre on Monday September 13, 2004 at the age of 71. Dorne was a long time resident of Blind River and dear friend of Agnes Onasenko. Dear father of Karl Middaugh (Phyllis) of Whitefish Falls, Blossom Niemi of Edmonton, Debra Kagesheongai (Chris) of Birch Island and Perry Middaugh of St. Charles. Dear grandfather of James Sarah, Karleena, Ky, Michael, Danny, Bradley, Amanda, Chris and Lexie. Survived by seven great grandchildren. Dear brother of 3 brothers and 4 sisters. At the family’s request there will be no service. Donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home, Blind River.
