Proud grandfather of Richard and Bradley Cain, Terri Johnson, Christine Thibodeau, Louise Needham, Donna, Michael, Mark, Tobias, Myra, Michelle, Nicole and Christopher Cain. Great grandfather of 14. Donnie will be sadly missed by Diane and John Ricketson. Brother of Elsie Rivard and Annabelle Harten. Donnie is predeceased by his brothers Alex, Edgar, Gordon, Lloyd and Douglas and sisters Marjorie and Rita. Special friend of Ron and Shirley Shortt. Loving mother of Lodella Cazabon, Lucilla Del Col-Adler (Brendan) all of Calgary and Marisa Del Col-Leonard (Terry) of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished nonna of Eric and Patrick Cazabon of Calgary and Miranda and Alexa Leonard of Sault Ste. Marie. Lovingly remembered by her sisters Guiseppina Migotto (Claudio) of Toronto and Severina Gregoris (Pio) of Italy and numerous nieces and nephews both in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by sister Angelina Borean (Livio) and brother Mario Bertolo (late Carla) of Italy. Sister-in-law of many in Italy. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass on Thursday, September 2, 2004 (time to be announced later) at St. Veronica's Church. Marie, Mary Jane Jolin (Norman), Viviane White (Ron), Paul (Dolly) all of Blind River, Leo (Sandra) of Schreiber, Diane Fyfe (Tom) of Hamilton, Lorraine Beemer (Brent) of Iron Bridge and the late Richard (Carla). Dear grandmother of 44, great grandmother of 49 and great great grandmother of 5. Predeceased by her parents Mederick and Valerie Laforge and numerous brothers and sisters. Also survived by nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. from the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River with the funeral mass on Tuesday August 31st, 2004 at 10 a.m. from St. James Parish. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Blind River. Memorial contributions to the Blind River District Health Centre or the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

He will be fondly remembered by his cousins; Adrienne Harris, Jennifer Tennant (Marc) and Rebecca Glasure. Derek will be sadly missed by some special friends who were fortunate to truly know him. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (742 Third Line East) on Saturday September 4, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Those wishing to do so may make a donation to the Watchtower Society in Derek's memory.
