passed away peacefully at Tendercare Nursing Home on Friday, August 27, 2004 at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Annie Pearl Smith Laird. Cherished father of Neil (Shirley) of St. Catharines, Sandra Wilson (Frank), Charles, Carolyn Buckley and Arden (Rose) all of Sault Ste. Marie. Special grandfather and great grandfather to many. Also survived by his brother, Jack (Doreen) of Port Lambton, Ontario, and sisters, Irene Coulson (Joseph) and Margaret Gillian (Fred) both of Sault Ste. Marie and predeceased by his sister, Jean Hicklin. Todd retired from Algoma Steel in 1973. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Monday, August 30, 2004 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 11 am. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Survived by his children; Clinton, Cheryl, Angela, Kathy, Vanessa and Derek. Friends may visit at the Northwood Funeral Home on Saturday August 28, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral and committal service in the Chapel at 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would appreciated by the family.

Cherished grandson of; Roland and Shirley Beaudry, Marty and Rolly Beaudry, Kieth Montijo and Chick and Ilene Goertzen. Joshua will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Survived by his wife Lorraine; father of Leigh (the late Helen), Gary (Judy), Lynn (Ken) O’Halloran and Gaye (Blake) Askak, Stepfather of Lori, Mickey (Jackie), Ron (Janice) Stolar, Debi (Ian) McKay, Pam Trowbridge and Cory Stolar. Proud “Papa” to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leopold is brother of Charlie, Frank, Vera, Sylvia and Ivy. Predeceased by his wife Shirley. A family service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Spanish on Saturday, August 28, 2004. Memorial contributions can be made to the Legion Branch 576 or the Canadian Cancer Society. Born 1923 in Dublin, Ireland, died suddenly on Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Credit Valley Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Walton). Proud and loving father of Ann (Doucet), Leslie (Kevin Thompson) and Heather (Chris Vickers). Loving grandfather of Andrew, Jennifer, Katelyn and Alyssa. Much loved companion of Erma and loved by the entire Stewart family. A friend to many, he will be remembered for his energy, enthusiasm and willingness to lend a hand. Retired employee of Dominion Stores Ltd., Ontario Produce and known as Santa in Scarborough for many years. Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Visitation, Chapel and Reception Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario on Wednesday September 1 from 2 to 9 p.m. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Thursday, September 2 at 1 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be welcomed. A heartfelt thanks to Kim at Credit Valley Hospital for her kindness and compassion.

Richmond Hill Ontario. Garry passed away suddenly at home on August 29, 2004. He was the devoted husband of the late Judy (Watt) and was pre-deceased by his parents Lucinda and Orville Weir and a brother James. He is survived by his brother Gordon (Shirley) and his sister Joyce Sharpe. Gary will be fondly remembered by many close family members and friends and will be especially missed by Karen, Linda and David Bickell. In keeping with Gary’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family service will be held at Sand Lake, Kearney, Ontario at a later date. Remembrance donations may be made to York Central Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Father of Betty Lou Tanner (Roy), Joseph Aikens, Frederica McBride (Craig), Rosemarie Chamberlin, Wilfred Aikens (Gloria), Adele Hawdon (Gerald), the late Julie Aikens, the late Joan Aikens, John Aikens, Jamie Lee Aikens, Shairl Acquin, Blake Aikens (Janet) and Lesa Guenette (Tim). Grandfather of 32 and great grandfather of many. Son of the late Joesph and Adelia Aikens. Brother of the late Tommy Aikens, the late Joseph Aikens and the late Azilda Herberts. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Barton and Kiteley Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Thursday, September 2, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated from St. Jerome's Catholic Church on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 10 a.m. Rev. Dear father of Fred of Toronto, stepfather of Peter Otto (Christa) and their children Kathrin and Christin of Germany and Toomas Rebane of Windsor. Also loved by Janis' children, Stephen Sarlo (Barbara Jean) of Sault Ste. Marie, Susan Lee (Gitae) of Morden, Manitoba, and Esther Sarlo of Vancouver, and grandchildren April and Dustin Sarlo. Predeceased by his brother Henry and his parents Friedrich Rudolph and Lisbeth. Friends may call at the Zion Lutheran Church, 189 Upton Road, on Thursday, September 2nd, 2004 from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm. The Most Reverend Udo Petersoo officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 2 pm. Special thanks to the doctors who have been providing extraordinary care for all Arno's health needs for a long time: Dr. Maloney, Dr. Fratesi, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Berry. Also, we appreciate the tender mercies of the doctors who were in the emergency department: Dr. Farah, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Morrison. We are grateful to the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit for taking such good care of Arno and for all their kindness to our family. Thank you to the homecare nurses from the Access Centre who came for such a long time. Memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund and The Arno Ambel Memorial Voice Scholarship would be appreciated by the family.
