Mildred Brenneman Ropp
Peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2002 at Greenwood Court, Stratford, Mildred Brennaman Ropp, formerly of Milverton. She was born in Brunner 83 years ago, a daughter of the late John & Annie (Ropp) Brunk. She was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where she was a member of the WMSC. Mildred enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting as her hobbies. Beloved wife of the late William J. Brenneman (1980) and the late Nelson Ropp (2002). Loving mother of Ralph and Mildred Brenneman of Wellesley, Floris and Wayne Leis of New Hamburg, John and Ruth Brenneman of Kitchener, Linda Brenneman-Snider and Don of Edmonton, Alberta. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by Nelson s family, Shirley (Lowell), Donald (Martha), Marjorie (Laverne), Wayne (Marie), Karen (Allen), Linda (Malcolm), Larry (Annie), and their families. Dear sister of Norma Leis of Stratford. Also missed by her brother-in-low Lloyd and Eileen Brenneman of St. Catharines and a number of nieces and nephews. Frank Graham
Mr. Francis Thomas Graham, 90, of Spruce Lodge, Stratford and formerly of Woodland Towers and PeopleCare passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 20, 2002. Beloved husband of Velma Elizabeth (Huggins) whom he married in Wroxeter, November 2, 1940. Also survived by a brother-in-law Stewart Higgins and wife Marie, Wroxeter, sister-in-law Minerva Baker, Ottawa and many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Alex J. Graham, by sisters Mary M. Montgomery and her husband Ed, twin sister Elizabeth Borden and her husband Walter and by a brother-in-law Earl Baker. Frank was born in Howick Township, Huron County April 2, 1912 son of the late Adam Alexander Graham and the former Louise Goggin. Frank and his wife Velma farmed on the family farm for many years and later he was employed with R.L. Marshall and Carnation Milk for 26 years in Fordwich and St. Marys before moving to Stratford in 1972. He was a member of St. Stephen s Anglican Church, Stratford, The Loyal Orange Lodge, #313 Harmony, The Royal Black Preceptory #832, Stratford and the Stratford Country Club. Frank enjoyed camping at Wildwood, lawn bowling and was an avid curler. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, December 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Rachael Walker will officiate. Spring interment in Fordwich cemetery. Mr. Mervin Dietz, 80 of Mitchell passed away at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Thursday, February 13, 2003. Beloved husband of Norma (Jackson) Dietz. Dear father of Sharon (Phil) Maier, Kitchener, Sheila Dietz, Wiarton, Janice Dietz, London, Darwin (Nancy) Dietz, Douglas (Sandra) Dietz, all of Dublin, Darrell (Marianne) Dietz, Freelton and Jason (Robyn) Hodges-Rau, Joshua, Abby, Brette and Erica Dietz, Heather and Michael Dietz, Jacob and Zachary Dietz; dear brother of Milton (Wanda) Dietz, Seaforth, dear brother-in-law of Ross (Dorthy) Jackson, Mitchell and Dorthy (Maurice) Carnerie, Stratford. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents John and Frieda (Eisler) Dietz. Mervin was an entrepreneurial farmer in McKillop Township for many years and was a member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church, Brodhagen where he served on the Church Council. He was a Charter member of the Brodhagen Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Mitchell Pioneer and Hobby Association. At Mervin s request, his body has been donated to Medical Science. Mr. Percy Edward Coe, 80, of Port Stanley and formerly of Mitchell passed away at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus on Friday, June 27, 2003. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Agnes (La Pier) Coe (1992). Dear father of Brian Coe and companion Tanya Spencer of Ajax, Barry Coe and life partner Debbie Jackson of Oakville and Kathleen Fraser and companion Richard Morey of Mitchell; loving grandfather of Melissa, Michelle, Heather, Ned, Garrett and Liam; loving great grandfather of Stephanie and Carson; dear brother of Bill Coe of Trenton, Dick Coe and wife Marie and Betty Farr and husband Ron, all of Stratford. Also surviving is a son-in-law Doug Fraser of Mitchell and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Hazel (Davey) Coe, sisters Viola Drane and husband William and Helen Paige and husband Gordon and a sister-in-law Becky Coe. Percy was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and the Port Stanley Royal Canadian Legion. Yvonne O Connor
Yvonne Marie Louise O Connor (nee Seheult) of Diego Martin, Trinidad died October 31, 2001 at her home. She was 93. She was predeceased by her husband Desmond in 1958 and by three sisters and a brother. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Brendan O Connor and wife Dr. Cecile O Connor of Corpus Christy, Texas and formerly of Stratford and Donal O Connor and wife Marg McBride of St. Marys; two daughters, Rosaleen Dunbar of St. Marys and Patricia Murray and husband Colin of Barbados; grandchildren Siobhan and Kathleen O Connor, Riley and Conan O Connor, Erin Dunbar and Sarah and Peter Murray; four sisters and a brother. Burial took place November 6 at the Lapeyrouse cemetery in Port of Spain, Trinidad following a funeral mass at Church of the Nativity. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Reginald (Reg) Carter
Died on Friday, February 8, 2002 at his residence Nithview Home, New Hamburg, after a lengthy illness, Reg Carter, formerly of Baden and Stratford. He was born in Guelph 87 years ago, a son of the late Joshua and Florence (Smith) Carter. Reg was a member of the Missionary Church. He loved baseball and hockey and supported local teams for many years. Dear father of Laverne and his wife Erma Carter of Burlington and Karen and her husband Stan Smith of Newmarket. Sadly missed by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also remembered by brothers Norwood, Gilbert and Philip. Reg was predeceased by his first wife Muriel Young and his second wife Nora Roth as well as sisters Phyllis and Gladys and brother Donald. Mrs. Maria Johanna Van De Wetering, age 73, of 97 Huron Street, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital with family at her side on Friday, April 12, 2002. She is the beloved wife of Martin; loving mother of Leo and wife Sherry, Sebringville, Henry and wife Michelle, Stratford, Paul and wife Vic, Bayfield, David and wife Moira, Halifax, Dinah and husband John Gryszczuk, St. Marys, Mary Ellen and husband Craig Turnbull, Vancouver, Joanne and husband Les Szabo, Vancouver, Tricia and husband Frank Edye, St. Marys and Frances and husband Rob Evans, Stratford. She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters in Holland, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Audrey and Alf Heinbuck, Petra and Bart Ossendryver, Ann and Bill Verakel, Mary and Adrian Van Crey, Leo and Gerta Van De Wetering, Joe and Barb De Wetering, Rita and Karl Van De Wetering, Christine De Wetering, Ellen De Wetering, Barb De Wetering, Gerry Klumper, Bill Reuvers, Antoinette Wakeford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, by three sisters and one brother in Holland and 14 brothersin-law and sisters-in-law. She was a member of St. Joseph s Roman Catholic Church, Stratford and had been a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. She was also a 40 year member of the Catholic Women s League.
