FELKAI, Julius
Saturday, January 29, 2005
In loving memory of Julius Felkai, 61 years, of Toronto, Goulais River, Heron Bay, Copper Cliff, Lively, Tillsonburg, and Budapest, who passed away Monday, January 24th, 2005 at 11:55 pm. He was a wonderful man-generous beyond measure, with a compassionate heart. He reached out to strangers and readily helped many that crossed his path. He valued and loved children and was patient. His unique, witty, offbeat sense of humour has given his family memories that will be remembered for generations. He was born in 1943 Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to Tillsonburg, Ontario at the age of 13 years old. He attended Ryerson College and obtained a Civil Engineering degree. His work (construction sub-contracting business) took him throughout Northern Ontario including North Bay, Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie, Marathon, Hemlo, Manitouwadge, and Thunder Bay. His surviving family, who will cherish his memory, miss him deeply. He was a loving father to Sally-expectant mother (partner Troy Hansen), Todd, Stephanie, Thomas (partner Julia Wood), Susan (fiancee Brant Levert) and grand-daughter Ruby. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, by his mother, Magda Steiner, and by his siblings Frank and Maggie. He has been welcomed into God's house by the saving grace of Jesus and is at peace after many years of discomfort from diabetes, high blood pressure and the long-term effects of a vehicle accident. He was treated in the hospital after falling on ice on January 14, 2005 and ten days later suffered cardiac arrest from septic shock. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 78 Clifton Road (NW corner of Mount Pleasant and St. Clair Avenue). Visitation hours will be held at Ogden Funeral Home, 646 St. Clair Avenue West on Friday, January 28th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
