Peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the age of 72. Son of the late Bertha and Erle Shaule. Loving father of Scott, Susan Proulx and Mark. Proud grandpa of Erika Hilja Proulx. Husband of Carole. Dear brother of Elroy (Rosemary) and the late Arlo. Calvin will be sadly missed by many other friends and family members. Calvin was a teacher for over 35 years and was well known as the host of the radio talk show “Highway to Heaven”. SLOAN, Joan Mae Elledine (Bilton)

Peacefully, in her 72nd year, Joan passed away on January 23, 2005 at the Blind River District Health Centre after a long battle with cancer. Joan is predeceased by her parents Gordon and Marie Bilton and by her brother Leonard. She will be deeply missed by her husband Carl and her children: Sean of Toronto, Dan (Susan Derby) of Alexandria and Monica (Gerry Hawkins) of Toronto. She will be fondly remembered by her nephews: Stephen, Gordon, and James Bilton. An active member of her church, St. James the Greater, Joan was a member of the Parish Leadership Team. She participated in many parts of the liturgy. Joan was a longstanding member of the Catholic Women's League and had served as local President. Joan was a Registered Nurse and in 2004 proudly celebrated her 50th anniversary as a graduate of the Marymount School of Nursing. She will be missed by her classmates and colleagues. Joan and her family also owned and ran Bilton's camp at Chiblow Lake. She will be remembered by the many friends and guests from over the years for her graciousness and hospitality. Visitation will be held at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River on Wednesday, January 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Blind River. The family would like to thank their many friends for their kindness during this time. A special thanks goes out to the staff of the Blind River District Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, Joan requested that donations be made to the Cancer Society or the Celiac Society.

Rudolph Boyer passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital on Friday January 21, 2005 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Joyce (Miller). Loving father of Debbie (Bob) Botke and Dawna (Harley) Witty. Grandfather of Lynn (Brent) Autore, Leslie (Dennis) Whitfield, Tanya (Scott) Gray, Kia-Lee and Calem Witty. Great grandfather to Robert, Riley, Lauren, Ethan and the late Craig. Brother of David (Marion), Eldridge (Gabrielle), Lloyd, Frona (Morris) and the late Clifford, Mary (late Fred), Eager (late Mae) and Basil. Brother-in-law of Claire (late Peter) Elaine (late Malcolm), and the late Goldie, (late Bud), Tom (Gloria), Ken (Claudette), Eloda (Dave), Wilma (Tony) and Marilyn (late Roger). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. On Sunday January 23, in her 68th year after a brave and determined five year struggle following a stroke and then cancer. Helen is survived by the great love of her life, Robert Frair, and seven children: Gwen Millen (David), Phyllis Millen Haircrow, Sandra Millen, Colleen Millen (Ryan), Earl and Nicki Frair, Rick and Tammy Frair, Laura and Rick Morrison. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Addison Dudeck-Millen, Tessa and Cody Olsen, Chris, Greg and Zach Frair, Kaitlin and Felicia Angulo and dearly loved by sister Doreen Bowers and Ronald, nephews John Bowers (Maretta) and Dan Bowers (Karen), and her aunt and uncle Helen and Fred McMaster. Dear Friend and Sister-in-law to Helen Newman, Edith Larue, the late Mildred Rosenberg and the late Earla Ralph. Predeceased by her parents Laura and Mike Cucic formerly of Masstown, Nova Scotia. She refused to surrender to the vicious attacks her body endured and kept her sense of humour and love of life to the end. It is with great sadness that the family announces the tragic and senseless loss of Sarah Angelina Positano at her residence in Kent, Ohio on Saturday, January 22, 2005; at the age of 22 years. Sarah is survived by her parents Susan and James; her sisters Katrina and Jessica; and her younger brother Anthony. Sarah is the granddaughter of; Helen Denault (late Dalton) and Lillian Positano (late Jim Sr.). She will be greatly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Sarah was in her final year as a Physical Education major at Kent State University. She was also the student manager of the university gymnastics team. Not only was Sarah a talented athlete, who greatly enjoyed the sport of gymnastics, she was also a very beautiful person with a kind and lively spirit. Margareth Hall, nee Wesselius, of Waubaushene, in her 53rd year. Beloved wife of Donald Hall. Dear mother of Ryan Crowe, Shannon Rumsay (Anthony), Kelly Crowe (Lionel Giallard). Precious daughter of John and Margaret Wesselius. Treasured sister of Hans Wesselius (Peggy). Loving Aunt to Gene, John and Annelies Wesselius. Loved step-mother of Randy Hall (Hannah) and Beverley Hall. She will be missed by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law and many friends.
