July 11, 1928 – September 8, 2008 - passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8th, 2008 at the Great Northern Nursing Centre surrounded by his loving family and friends. Fede will be greatly missed by Meris his devoted wife of 51 years. Father of John (Linda Fera) and Emma (Leonardo Aquilino). Proud and loving nonno to Brittany and Daniel Zambusi, and Michael, Lisa and Mark Aquilino. Brother of the late Arvasio (Bertilla). Dear uncle to Andrea Zambusi and Olga Fischer. Heartfelt thanks to all of Fede’s loving friends and relatives for their much-appreciated visits and to the Great Northern Nursing Centre Staff for their exceptional support. Honouring Fede’s wishes, visitation will be held at O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (corner of St. James and Cathcart Sts.) on Thursday, September 11th, 2008 from 9 – 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church on Thursday, September 11th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ron Ambeault officiating. Followed by entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Donations to Great Northern Nursing Centre Residents Council would be appreciated by the family.

Saturday September 6, 2008 - Peacefully passing to her spirit journey, Aunt Jean’s family and friends surrounded her with love as she moved on. Her 88th birthday was celebrated on September 5th. She was known as Aunt Jean by all who met her and everyone whose life she touched. She was a good friend to all. She was a respected Elder of the Anishnabek Nation. Her father, the late Richard Pine, was a respected statesman. Her mother, the late Ida Wigwas taught Aunt Jean to be fiercely independent. Aunt Jean was predeceased by two husbands, the late Alvin Sebastion and the late Larry Norman. Her brothers and sisters includ the late John (Smitty) Pine and Lillian, Beulah Abtossway, Sheila Pine, Helen (Billy) Swenson and Don, the late Lucille Taylor, Jake Pine and Mary, Blanche Pine and Cameron, Richard Pine and Rhonda. She is lovingly remembered by countless nieces and nephews throughout many generations. Aunt Jean’s love wisdom and knowledge was shared with the her "kids" she helped raise including the late Calvin Corbiere, Doug Pine, Bonnie Harrington (Pine), Tanya Bomberry (Pine), Zack Pine. She was a loving Auntie to innumerable children. While in her 70's she continued to chase 5 year old Brett and the 3 year old twins Greg and Marlys, up and down stairs. Aunt Jean was close friends with many people, including the late Rose Nolan, Ethyl Dellaire, Pat Darnay, Ali Darnay, Angela Neveau, Corella Corbiere, Eunice (McGraw) McMahon, Victoria Syrette, Rosalie Goos, Joanie Hnakuik, the late Nancy Syrette, and Marcel Ladouceur. Aunt Jean celebrated life every day. In the last few years she acted as her nephew Joe’s conscience and kept him in line. In return, she especially enjoyed his cooking and most of all put up with his corn soup endeavours. Aunt Jean found humour in every situation. Friends may visit at the Garden River Community centre from 1 pm to 9 pm Tuesday September 9th. In respecting Aunt Jean’s wishes she will be cremated and there will not be any grave side services. Funeral services will take place at 10 am Wednesday September 10th, at the Community Centre. A feast will follow at the Community Centre Please bring any food donations to the Community Centre for the visitation on Tuesday and for the feast after the funeral.

Peacefully at the General Hospital with her son by her side on Sunday, September 7, 2008 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Frees. Loving mother of Chuck Frees (Linda). Proud Nana of Sheldon (Marnie), Todd (Wendy), Chris (Candy) and Greg. Cherished great grandmother of Brittany, Brandon and Madison. Martha is predeceased by her sisters Lillian Marshall, Ada Hill (late Jack), Annie Marshall, Mabel Brown (late Harve) and Mary McAuley (late Raymond) and by her brother Dave Marshall (Martha). Martha will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Martha worked for many years at Bell Canada and became affectionately known as "Ma Bell" by her colleagues. Martha continued her active membership alongside her fellow Pioneer Retirees. She also remained active at the Senior Drop In Centre alongside her Bridge friends. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, September 11, 2008 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating. A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Bellingham United Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Bellingham United Church.

(November 15, 1921 - September 6, 2008) - At the FJ Davey Home. A World War II Veteran, he is survived by his wife of 61 years Jean (Smail), son Jim (Chris) and daughter Judy Liut (Larry), grandson Jim Jr. (Tiffanee), granddaughter Sarah Liut, and great grandsons Tanner and Ty. Friends will remember him as head custodian at the Sault Technical & Commercial Highschool/Lakeway where he worked for over 30 years. Harry will also be remembered in the Sault community as a loyal union member, as a founding member of the Soo Pee Wee Arena and the Sault Credit Union. Hockey fans will remember Harry as the trainer and equipment manager for the 1964-65 NOHA Midget Champions (Avery Stadiums). Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday September 10 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 would be appreciated.

Dear brother of Grace Morrison (late Owen) of Orillia, Mable Dunn (late Reg) of BC, June Ainsworth (late George) and Ollie Smith (Charlie) both of Orillia, Stella Shaule (late Stan) of BC and the late Stan (Lois) of Washago. Dear brother-in-law of Gerald Desmond and Bill Desmond both of Sault Ste. Marie and the late Adelaide Boyer, Raymond Desmond, Eddie Desmond, Raya Daigle and Elizabeth Corbiere. Loving mother of David (Anne), Robert (Patricia), Debbie Budge (Don), Melanie Rogers (Jack), Michael (Leslie), Beverly Gagliardi (Anthony), Elizabeth Holkko (friend Michael Pajuluoma) and Harold. Grandma to 16 and great grandma to 7. Molly will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends especially Norman and Adele Shulman. It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Roberts announces her death on September 5, 2008. Jean is the wife of Arnold Roberts for 61 years and the daughter of the late Helen and Hector Boston. She will be missed by her children Wayne, Wanda Mitchell (Mike), Brent (Jennifer), Brenda Strachan (late Ronald) and Penny King (Marvyn). Her grandchildren have been a big part of her life and they will miss her desperately. Craig King (Michelle), Elsie, Lorrie Sawchyn (Trevor), Thomas, Bradley King (Ashley), Jason Strachan, Justin Strachan (Elaina), Matthew Strachan (Brandy) and Shawn. Great gram to Cassandra, Tyson, Kaylee, Ashton, Lilliana, Aidyn, Mackenzie, Taylor, Austin, Brayden and Josh.
