WILKINSON, Maria Grace (nee Benedetti)
March 7, 1948 - August 24, 2007
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Maria Wilkinson announces her passing at Credit Valley Hospital on Friday, August 24th 2007 in her 59th year. Beloved wife of Bruce for 38 years; loving and devoted mother of Michael and his wife Lesley, and Natalie and her husband Shaun; adored Nana of Lauren and Brendan; dear sister of the late Bruno Benedetti and his wife Dianne, and caring aunt of David (Mina) and Lisa (Moe). Special thanks to the Wickett, Jaikaran, LeBlanc and Amirault families as well as Anna Gallina and all of our friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
It has been a long and arduous journey for Maria since being diagnosed with ovarian cancer 4 ½ years ago. We are all so proud of her valiant fight but the time has come for her to rest, and finally be at peace.
Our family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors (especially Dr. Fine, Dr. Besik, Dr. Digges, and Dr. Sauls) and nurses on the oncology and palliative care units as well as the great team from the oncology clinic. The care they have provided to our mother, and our family has been nothing short of amazing, and we have benefited immensely from their brilliant minds and compassionate hearts.
Maria is now resting at Glen Oaks Reception Centre, 3164 Ninth Line (at Dundas), Oakville. Visitation will take place from 1pm until 2pm on Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 with service and burial from 2pm until 3pm and reception immediately following.
If desired, remembrances may be made in Maria’s honour to the Palliative Care Unit at Credit Valley Hospital.
