Unexpectedly on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 while surrounded by her family at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Janice will be sadly missed by her loving husband John of over 42 years. Survived by her father, Harry Van Schaik of London, Predeceased by her mother Grace (1981). Mom will always be in the hearts of her adoring children, John (Kim) of Chatham and Kathryn of Mississauga. Cherished grandma of Matthew, Michael (Katherine) and Stacy-Marie. Janice is survived by her sisters Beverley McDonald (Bill) of London and Nancy Bryson of Edmonton and her brothers David (Lorraine) Van Schaik, Paul (Susan) Van Schaik and Rick (Kelly) Van Schaik, all of Kitchener. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Louise (Ken) York of London and Jenny (Maurice) Bibby of Georgetown. Freedman, Maureen Nora (nee McFee) passed away peacefully and pain free, in her sleep at home, on Friday, September 21, 2007 in her 60th year. She was the cherished wife of Nelson Freedman. Beloved mother of Sean (Mary) Henry, Marc (Nancy) Freedman and Jordan (Michelle Murphy) Freedman. Survived by brothers Bill, Tom (Deborah) and Gordon (Carol) McFee, grandchildren Jessica Weaver, Patrick Henry and Sam, Jacob, Elliott and Mackenzie Freedman, Evangeline and Beatrice Freedman and Otis Murphy, nephews Steven and Danny McFee, Matthew and Ryan McFee and niece Catherine McFee. She was predeceased by her mother Eileen, father Garnet and brother Alan McFee. Fondly remembered by her in laws, relatives and friends.
Born June 24, 1948 in Montreal, Maureen graduated from Queen's University with a B.A. in Psychology and St. Lawrence College Dip. Behavioral Science Technology. Maureen had been a longtime employee of Queen's in several departments. She served as a volunteer director of Camp Outlook, Project Another Chance, and the 10+ Group of Joyceville and Milhaven Institutions.
Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins, 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd at Centennial Drive) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Regional House, Amherstview, on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. A family interment will take place in Montreal at a later date.

Heathcote, George Eric - Regretfully, Eric passed away on Saturday September 15th. He leaves behind his dear wife, Muriel of 55 years, his stepdaughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Russel, two grandchildren, Toby (Rob); Steven (Kathie) and three great grandchildren. He also leaves his dear sister, Ruth and dear brother Clifton, and will be fondly remembered by many of his friends and families in Eastern Canada.
The Service of Committal will be held at Hatley Memorial Gardens, 2:00pm, Saturday, September 29th.
Following the service, there will be a gathering at the Heathcote Home. Friends are welcome to attend.

GIRARD, PIERRE - On Friday, September 21st, "CAPTAIN GIRARD", Air Canada Pilot (retired), died peacefully at the age of 62, after a lengthy illness. Pierre began flying at the age of sixteen. His passion for aviation continued throughout his life, first as a bush pilot and many years on a specialized ice patrol plane in the North. His career continued on as a commercial Canadian Airline pilot and then Boeing 767's for Air Canada. When not on duty, he and Sharon flew their own small plane. They sailed in the Bahamas on "Alize" - a 34 foot sailboat he built over a 10 year period. His love of fine food and dining began in Montreal and flourished in France. To his friends and family he was Chef Pierre. He is predeceased by his mother Isabelle Pitre and father Jacques Girard of Montreal. His wife Sharon (nee Knowles) shared his joy of life. Lovingly missed by Sharon, his cousin Richard Klein, Marie- Sophie and Francois Lamothe of Montreal, Edith and Wayne Knowles of British Columbia and many supportive friends and family and his special companion Pepe. Special thanks are extended to Myrna K. Moore and Dr. Lorne Zinman of the ALS clinic at Sunnybrook and Brampton Extendicare. RUNION, Ronald Douglas - In his 73rd year, surrounded by his loving family, Ron passed away Sunday, September 23rd, 2007. Beloved husband of Shirley for 52 years. Loving father of Joanne (Alan Butler), Nancy (Robert Hind), Colleen (Joyce Flannery). Dear Papa to Shantel, Julie, Ajay, and Great-Papa to Cody, Myles, and Kiara. Predeceased by his loving parents Ernie Oscar and Hazel May, and brother Reginald. Survived by his sister-in-law Elieen and sister Edith Dinah Knight. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ron was a long-time employee of DomGlass and a lifetime member of the Leander Boat Club. His passions and joy came from family, golfing, fishing, hunting and painting. A special thanks to the caring staff at St. Joe’s.
