Mr. William Ghaney
September 20, 2007

Ghaney, William passed away peacefully at Huronia District Hospital (Midland) on September 20, 2007 at the age of 59.
William, beloved husband of Pauline (nee Hayes). Dearest father of Staci Lea and her husband Geoff Rae and grandfather to Chloe. Son of the late Elizabeth and William. Brother of Thomas, Herbert (Beth), Bridget, Mary, Anne (Felix), Elizabeth (Eugene), Pauline (James) and the late Samuel. Son in law of Gertrude Hayes. Uncle of the late Bradley Park. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and fellow cottagers of Christian Island. Mr. Ghaney is resting at Scott Funeral Home, Mississauga Chapel, 420 Dundas St. East (one block west of Cawthra Rd.) for visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 5 - 9pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday morning September 24, 2007 in Holy Angels Church (502 Talbot St., St. Thomas, Ontario) at 10am. Burial Holy Angels Cemetery St. Thomas, Ontario. Kindly please consider a donation to the Spina Bifida Association.

Mrs. Karen Marie Stephens
December 5, 1951 - September 19, 2007

After a courageous battle with cancer, Karen passed away, with family by her side, at Peel Memorial Hospital on September 19, 2007 at the age of 55. Dearly beloved wife of Blair for 34 years. Loving mother of Scott (Alyssa), David (Tanya), Blair and Anne Marie. Nana to Diamond, Jeffrey and Leia. Daughter of Anna Burke and niece of Georgie Gallant and Margaret MacLeod. Karen will be sadly missed by her three brothers and sister, extended family and many friends. Family and friends will be received at the SCOTT FUNERAL HOME "Brampton Chapel, " 289 Main St. N., Brampton on Sunday, September 23 from 2 - 4 p.m. for a celebration of Karen's life. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Sydney, Nova Scotia on Saturday, September 29 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Mr. Chandra Konanur
December 24, 1942 - September 20, 2007

Chandra passed away peacefully from complications due to Leukemia on Thursday, September 20, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends. Chandra was a loving husband to Uma, and a doting and proud father to Shalini and Sheila. He is survived by his dear brother and sisters Nagaraj, Jayalakshmi, Saroja and their families. Chandra had a genuine appreciation for all that life had to offer and brought joy and happiness to all he met. He lived everyday to its fullest and will always be remembered for his gentle smile and big heart. He will be deeply missed by all of those he touched, but his light will continue to shine as he watches over us from above.
“Love is stronger than death even though it can't stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love. It can't take away our memories either. In the end, love is stronger than death.”
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007 at HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham, Ontario (northeast corner of 16th Ave & Hwy 404) . Service to commence at 10:30 a.m. with viewing and reception to follow at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, and encourages people to sign up for the bone marrow registry through Canadian Blood Services.

Mrs. Giuseppina Vario
February 5, 1931 - September 21, 2007

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppina. Devoted wife of the late Giuseppe (1925-1993). Much loved mother of John, Anne and her husband Michael Shearer, and the late Gasper (1957-1971). Cherished Nonna of Melissa and Leanna Shearer. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews both in Canada and in Italy. Family and friends will call at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME - Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court (NE corner of 16th Ave. and Hwy. 404,) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, September 24, a 10:00 a.m. at St. Justin Martyr Parish, 3898 Highway 7 East, Unionville. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery, 305 Erskine Avenue, Toronto.
If desired, donations may be made to the Neuromuscular Clinic at Sunnybrook and Women's Health Sciences Centre.

Mrs. Helen Angeline Thomas
April 10, 1918 - September 20, 2007

THOMAS, Helen Angeline, a resident of Chatham passed peacefully Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Riverview Gardens in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Thomas (1983). Mother of Frances Fairley (Arthur) of Hamilton, James Thomas (Brenda) of Chatham John Thomas of Chatham and Gail Unsworth (Larry) of Tupperville. Grandmother of seven. Mrs. Thomas came to Chatham from Saskatchewan in 1948 and has been a member of Evangel Community Church since that time. Together with her husband Robert owned and operated "The Guest House" on Thames Street in Chatham. The family will receive visitors Sunday September 23, 2007 from 1-4 pm at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Ave., Chatham . A service of celebration will take place Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10:00 am at Evangel Community Church (76 Sandy's St., Chatham). Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Gideons or the Alzheimer Society.

Mr. Roland "Smitty" Smith
September 21, 2007

passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on September 21, 2007 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Flora for 52 years. Cherished father of Rollinda Papineau (Bob Laframboise) and Doye de Lauw. Proud grandfather of Sabrina, Maxx and Owen. Loving son of the late Julia and Cecil. Dear brother of Shirley Alm and the late Albert (2007) and wife Helen of St. John's, also survived by sister-in-law Helen McQuarrie. Smitty served in the RCNA 1951-1957. A former employee of Electrozad Supply of Windsor, and resident of Wildwood Golf Resort (McGregor). Member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 594. Visitation will be on Sunday September 23, 2007 from 3-5 and 7-9pm at Morris Sutton Funeral Home, 68 Giles Blvd East (519-254-8633). A chapel service will be held on Monday September 24, 2007 at 2:30pm. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Autism Society of Windsor.

Mrs. Helen T. Robinson (nee Deneau)
June 22, 1915 - September 20, 2007

ROBINSON, Helen T. (nee Deneau) passed away peacefully at home. Wife of the late Ronald Robinson (1975). Loving mother of Ronald (1996) & wife Patricia, Gail & husband Gino Gardin. Dear grandmother to Colleen & husband Jim Reimneitz, Ronald Robinson & wife Cyndi, Greg & wife Karen Gardin, Glenn & wife Colleen Gardin, Guy & wife Andrea Gardin. Great grandmother to Danny, Matthew, Paul, Scott, Alison, Ian, Nicolas and Elyse. Beloved sister to Veronica Bratt & the late Veril, Beatrice Gibb & the late Frank, George Deneau & wife Yolanda, James Deneau & wife Virginia. Predeceased by her brothers Thomas (1990) and Richard (1969) and baby sister Betty Jean (1928). Sister-in-law of Irene Deneau and Wilfred Robinson. Aunt Lala will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
In kindness, memorial donations may be made to St. John The Baptist Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated.
Visiting at the JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg on Monday Sept. 24th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Everyone is requested to meet directly at St. John the Baptist Church, 225 Brock Street, Amherstburg for Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007.Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
A tree will be planted in memory of Helen in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held in September, 2008. All are welcome.

Harry WEATHERUP passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge on Wednesday September 19, 2007 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of the late Anna. Loving father to Barbara and her husband Gord Kane and Ron and his fiancé Vynette. Much loved grandfather to Rod, Kelly, Angela, Ronald, Brian and their families. Proud great grandfather to 12. Dear brother to Ivy and her husband George Loveless and the late Verna Pound. Harry will be sadly missed by relatives and friends and all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village (Ajax) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday September 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff of Fairview Lodge Nursing Home, Whitby for all their care.
