Luis Gabriel Melo
October 24, 1960 - September 26, 2007

MELO, LUIS GABRIEL (Professor of Physiology at Queen's University) - passed away after a brief illness and a courageous battle with cancer, at the Kingston General Hospital, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, in his 46th year. Beloved husband for 18 years of Amelia. Loved father of Sofia and Sara. Dear brother of Ruben, Francisco and Daria Maria Melo. Predeceased by his parents Francisco and Leontina Melo, brothers Carlos and Nuno Melo. Remembered by his nieces and nephews.
A special thank you for the tremendous support from friends and family.
Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial Dr. and Taylor Kidd Blvd) on Friday, September 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 12 noon. Rite of Committal with prayers in Resurrection Cemetery at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.
For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to the UHKF Southeastern Ontario Cancer Centre in memory of Luis.

Mrs. Irma Ruth Kelsey (Babcock)
February 17, 1933 - September 26, 2007

Kelsey, Irma Tisdale (nee Babcock) passed away at the Kingston General Hospital with family by her side on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in her 75th year. Survived by daughters Linda Seymour (Brian), Sharon Turcott; son Steven Tisdale (Lee Ann); stepson Kelvin Kelsey (Diane); brother Peter Babcock (Karyn); nieces Katherine Babcock and Melinda Irwin (Bob); Grandchildren Katherine Biber (Oscar), Sherri Whan (Dan), Karey Sherman Tisdale, Jason and Joshua Turcott; Nana to Jessica, Matthew, Taylor-Anne, Nicholas and Lucas; Step-grandchildren Lance Parsons and Cassandra Conquergood (Tim).
Special thanks to Dr. Demetz and the staff in the Cancer Clinic and all the nursing staff at the Kingston General Hospital for the much needed care in this difficult time.
Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial & Taylor Kidd Blvd) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in our Chapel on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. George McKnight officiating.

VANDERLINDEN, Gerharda Everdina
June 11, 1922 - September 27, 2007

passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton, Ont., on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Gerda was 85. She is deeply loved and missed by sisters Nel Bos, Dora Roos, Jopie ten Feld, Martina Korstanje and brother Bart ten Feld. Also, especially missed by Casey and Laurie, Adriaan and Nancy, Robert and Lori, Martin and Celeste, Adrian and Sarah, Jared and Christina, Jennifer and Myles, Jeffrey, Georgia, Elias and Theo. Gerda was predeceased by her loving husband Bob Vanderlinden, and brother in law Bastiaan Korstanje. Gerda was a medical technician and department head at the former IODE Hospital in Windsor. She was also a long-time volunteer at the hospital gift shop. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends who have visited, supported, called and offered kindness to Gerda over the past few months while she was in hospital. We would especially like to thank the staff at Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital in Windsor and at St Peter's, Hamilton for their gentle care. Visitation will be held Monday October 01, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Janisse Bros- Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Avenue Windsor, Ontario.. Cremation will follow with Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cecilia Asselin
July 25, 1919 - September 12, 2007

Asselin, Cecilia Elizabeth (nee Grisdale) entered into rest at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Thursday September 13, 2007 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Lionel Asselin. Dear mother of Janet Foster and her husband Tony, John Asselin and his wife Mariel, Rose Marie Leduc and her husband Joseph, William Asselin and his significant other Adriana Karaboutis, Angela LeMaitre and her husband David, and the late Tony Asselin. Loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters. A funeral service was held in the chapel of the Penetanguishene Funeral Home on Saturday September 15th. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Victoria Harbour. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Mrs. Evelyn Doreen Moreau
March 6, 1921 - September 6, 2007

Moreau, Evelyn (nee Lortie) - Former Georgian Manor nursing employee for 25 years passed away peacefully at the Georgian Manor, Penetanguishene with her family by her side, on Thursday September 6th, 2007 in her 87th year. Evelyn Lortie beloved wife of the late Lionel Moreau.
Loving mother of Marlene (Garry Bryant) Charlebois, Raymond (Linda) Moreau, Kevin (Jane) Moreau, Gary (Debra) Moreau and Karen (Ken) Spence. Predeceased by her son-in-law Jules Charlebois. Cherished grandmother of Rachelle, Denis, Andre, Shane, Carrie-Lynn, Andrea, Katherine, Lee, Scott, Erin, Tyler and Christopher and one great grandson Nicolas. Dear sister of Roch Lortie and predeceased by Bertha Thompson, Lionel Lortie, Stella Elrick and Loretta Lortie. Friends will be received at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Penetanguishene on Sunday September 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, Penetanguishene on Monday September 10th at 11 a.m. Interment St. Ann's Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Georgian Manor Furnishing Fund or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Balagot, Oscar G. passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2007, at the age of 75. Oscar, beloved husband of 50 years of Lourdes. Loving father of Jose (Ruby), Anna (Joey), Louis, Stella (Alan), Cynthia (Paul) and Oscar Jr. Cherished Big Daddy of Carissa, Angelica, Michael, Paolo, Christina, Catherine, Mia and Michelle. Dear brother of Luz and Edita. Visitation will be held at the Scott Funeral Home, 420 Dundas Street East, Mississauga (one block west of Cawthra Rd.) on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 2nd and 3rd, from 5 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 480 Rathburn Rd, Etobicoke, at 10:30 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery (Tomken Rd and Derry Rd). Mrs. Lillian Ann-Marie Moore
May 27, 1933 - September 28, 2007

MOORE, Lillian (nee Rooker) - Unexpectedly yet peacefully after a couragerous battle with cancer on Friday, September 28, 2007 at N.H.S. General Site at the age of 74. Predeceased by her husband Arthur (1996). Loving mother of Christine MacDonald (Keith), Reggie (Mary), the late Richard (2001), Phil (Marie) and Trish Starc (Rick). Cherished nana and grandma to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Joan Warner and brothers Bill Rooker and Ted Rooker and predeceased by many other siblings. Lillian will be also be missed by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Lillian's life will take place on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in the funeral home chapel of PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL (39 Court St., St. Catharines) at 11:30 am. Cremation has taken place with inurnment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens (Hwy #20 Fonthill) following the services at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Roberts, Joseph passed away peacefully on September 24, 2007 at ReachView Village in Uxbridge. Beloved husband and best friend of Helen for 61 years. Devoted father and mentor of Donna and Bob, Gary and Judy. Loving grandfather of Rob and Jessica, Dana, Michael, Joanna and Shane. Great-grandfather of Kenton, Christie, Emily, Robbie, Toni and Rhiannon. Brother and brother-in-law of Marge and the late Barney Roberts, Mary and Steve Anco.Caring Uncle Joe to his many nieces and nephews. Coach to hundreds of young hockey and baseball players. Fine connoisseur of homemade cherry wine.
