Mr. Braden "Brad" Patrick Thomas Henry
November 19, 1927 - September 28, 2007
Brad passed away unexpectedly on September 28th in his eightieth year with his family by his side. He is survived by Joyce, his wife and best friend for over 55 years, his sons and daughters David (Loree), Paul (Jennie), Brenda (Ron Bell) and his ten precious grandchildren Dean, Natalie, Elenor, Madeleine, Duncan, Julia, Naomi, Joshua, Brittany and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Marie Parr of Collingwood and his brother John (Lyn) of Calgary.
Born in Niagara Falls, Brad spent his formative years growing up in Kincardine, Ontario, pursuing his passions for sports, trumpet and lifelong friendships. He had a successful career in the investment management business in Toronto where he served his clients for over 40 years with fairness, honesty and loyalty.
He often said his best family decision was joining the Devil's Glen Country Club in 1965. Shortly thereafter, he built his family chalet, fondly known as "Brad's Place" that fostered 40 years of great skiing, family fun, and new friendships. As a long time member of Oakville Golf Club, he and Joyce played countless rounds together. He travelled the globe with Joyce and his Kincardine pals playing their annual "Can-Am Closed" golf tournament for 60 consecutive years. He was also a Honorary Member of The Kiwanis Club of Toronto with over 40 years of service.
Brad, Dad, Grandpa your life is a storybook of loyal and unwavering friendships. We will forever miss your smile and the love you bestowed on all of us. You have earned this rest, peace be with you and us. We love you. The family will receive friends at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Tues. Oct. 2nd from 6-8pm. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Brad's life will be held at 1pm Wed. Oct. 3rd 2007. Reception for his friends and family to follow. On September 29, 2007, Peter passed away. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Dolly, children Glynis (Richard) Harbour, Denzil Braganza, Christabel (George) Gannon, grandchildren Sarita and Fiona Harbour and Kasia (Richard) Chichon and great-grandchildren Russell and Blake Culver and kayla and Rebecca Chichon. A special thank you to Dr. Bedell and all of Peter's caregivers on the 3rd Floor at the McCall Wing of the Trillium Health Centre in Etobicoke. Mr. Braganza is resting at Scott Funeral Home 420 Dundas St. E., Mississauga (one block W. of Cawthra Rd.) for visitation on Tuesday October 2, 2007 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday morning October 3, 2007 in Sts. Martha and Mary Church (1870 Burnhamthorpe Rd. East, Mississauga) at 10 o'clock. Burial Mount Peace Cemetery, 3204 Cawthra Rd. McDowall, James ("Jimmy the Butcher") - In the arms of his wife, suddenly passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2007 in his home at the age of 68 years.
Loving husband of Helen. Loving father of Jim (Linda) of Georgetown. Doting grandpa of Ethan and Lauren. Survived by his brother William and sister Connie. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, also sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Mary and Gina. Predeceased by his brothers Johnny, Tommy, Ronny, and his sister Mary. Dear sister of Giuseppe and Giuseppa Piruzza of Windsor and the late Antonino Piruzza of Sicily. Sister-in- law of Marietta Piruzza of Sicily. Anna was a long time member of St. Angela Merici Church. The family would like to thank all the nursing staff of Metropolitan Hospital for all the special care given to Anna during her illness. It is with broken hearts that the family of Edwin Frederick Tyrrell announces the passing of a special man, on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Hamilton General Hospital. He is forever in our hearts and minds and will be missed beyond imagination. Dad / Papa has left us to join for eternity, the love of his life Edna, his wife of 53 years, after a very short separation. He will be missed by his children Deb Richardson, Dorothy Tyrrell, Doug and Lisa Tyrrell and Dawn and Dan Scarrow and his "Darlin's", who are now left to carry on Nanny and Papa’s legacy: Becky and Jeremy, Kate, Sarah and Amy. Never to be forgotten for their close bond by his siblings: Eileen and Bill Van Mol, Bea and Roy Lawrence, Dorothy and the late Harold Tyrrell and Judy and the late Bruce Tyrrell and all his devoted nieces and nephews. Dad lived his life with honesty, integrity, courage and humility until his last breath. He and Mom leave behind a legacy of perseverance and determination, even in the face of adversity. We draw upon their courage and unconditional love to hold us safe and keep us strong.
