Chin, Leslie S. (Jeff) - It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jeff on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the age of 67. Husband of the late Elma Chin. Beloved father of Darren (Aleida), Diane (Peter Chung) and Michelle. Proud grandpa of Alicia and Alexandar. Loving brother of Ellen, Milton, Mandison, Pearline, Enid and Raymond. Jeff is predeceased by his siblings Mavis, Winston, Benjamin and Doris. Jeff was well loved by his family and friends for his warm, outgoing personality.
Family and friends will be received from 5-9 pm on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME, MARKHAM CHAPEL, (northeast corner of 16th Ave & Hwy 404) . There will be an evening service at 6 pm, followed by a reception from 7-9 pm. The funeral service is being held at 10 am on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Unionville Alliance Church, 4898 16th Ave, 905-477-1104. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A lunch reception after the burial will be at China Buffet King, 9737 Yonge St. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Tsung Tsin Association.

SCAMMELL, Jack Edward Charles passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a battle with emphysema on Saturday, September 29th, 2007 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Joan of 54 years. Dear father of Susan Willits and Laurie (Rick) Kent. Cherished "Pa" to grandchildren Jason and Ryan Boyle, Jordan and Kortney Kent, and Lindsey (Dwayne) Desjardins. Predeceased by his brother Allan. A funeral service will be held at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE (21 Garrard Road, Whitby,) at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 4th, 2007 with visitation two hours prior to the service. Donations to the new Durham Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated.

FRANCESCO MASTROMARCO passed away peacefully on September 29, 2007. Survived by his beloved wife Giulia of 67 years, and loving children Graziella (Joe), Matteo (Franca), Giovanni (Linda), Cecilia (the late Domenico), Michele (Dawn) and Giuliana (Roberto). Greatly missed by his 20 granchildren and 21 great-granchildren. GEORGE CLAYTON MAKINS passed away suddenly in North York General Hospital on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Faye Makins (nee Moor) of 46 years. Loving father of George A. (Pat), and Karen Poole (Curtis). Grandfather of Matthew and Jordan, and his beloved cat "Chico". Brother of the late Cecil Makins, Ruby (the late Ralph) Metcalfe, Florence (the late Russell) Mannell, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great- nieces, and cousins. Brother-in-law of Marilyn Thoburn (nee Moor). Nephew of the late Aunt Phoebe Clayton who raised him from the age of 3 years. Loyal friend of many. Words cannot express the kind of man George Makins was. He was kind, gentle, and caring. He was patient and understanding. He was loyal and loving. He was a leader, a listener, a giver. His heart was endless. He was an exceptional, outstanding Husband, Father, Grandfather, and above all else, a Friend to all. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and a "Celebration" of George's life will be held at The Bob Rumball Centre For The Deaf, 2395 Bayview Avenue, North York on Saturday, October 6th at 9:00 a.m., service at 10:00 a.m. and reception to follow. Private family inurnment. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Bob Rumball Foundation For The Deaf, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.

SERGIO EDUARDO RE - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Sergio on October 2, 2007 at the age of 77. Best friend and loving husband to Nives for 52 years. He will be sadly missed by his children Diana and Rick Basciano, Danny and Tammy Re, Karen and Mark Gaggi and Sandra and Paul Morra. Adored Papa of Anthony (Ivana), Karyn (Nicholas), Jennie, Michelle, Cheryl, Daniel, Justine, Michael and Richard. Loving brother to the late Elvio. Fondly remembered by many friends and relatives. Sergio enjoyed the company of friends at dinner dances. His wit, wisdom and loving guidance will be missed along with his ability to fix anything. His spirit will live on in all of us who loved him.
