Mr. Emilio Castellan
November 28, 1919 - November 2, 2007

CASTELLAN, Emilio passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2007 while surrounded by his family at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 87. Loving husband of the late Ilde Castellan (nee Martin). Dear loving father of Lou (Gabriella), John (Janet), Regina Ruberto (John), Tina Pisano (Nick). Beloved Zio of Luciano Castellan. Cherished Nonno of Tasha Sampson (Trevor), Shawn (Heather), Tyler, Crystal Castellan, J.J. (Jaclyn), Kristina Ruberto, Tony (Claudia), Joe (Kristal), Sabrina Pisano. He will be missed by his great grandchildren Natalie and Lauren, Justin and Emma, Madison. Special Nonno to Joseph, Thomas, David, Veronica, Jamie and Jonathan. Predeceased by his siblings Primo, Giovanni, Bruno, Gino, Carlo and Rosina. Will also be missed by his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family. Emilio was one of the founding members of Club Roma and will be sadly missed by his friends and fellow members. Friends will be received at the PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL (39 Court Street, St. Catharines) on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m., Vigil Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church (169 St. Paul Cres., Catharines) on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Mrs. Donna Marie Mayhew
September 11, 1941 - November 3, 2007

MAYHEW, Donna Marie at her residence on Saturday, November 03, 2007 in her 67th year. Daughter of Doreen Sears and the late Donald Sears. Beloved wife of Lawrence Mayhew. Loving mother of Angela Blair (Garry) of Belleville, Thomas Mayhew (Wendy) of Belleville and Larry Mayhew of Abbotsford, B.C. Loved by her grandchildren Donald, Katlynn and Nicole. Also loved by her great granddaughter Brooklyn. Dear sister of Linda Clark of Regina, SK, Sandra Briscoe of Mallorytown, Karen Chapman of Kingston, and Debby Steele of Westport. Family and friends are invited to call at the BURKE FUNERAL HOME 150 Church St., Belleville on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, November 07, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Mrs. Diane Elizabeth Karas
June 3, 1961 - November 2, 2007

KARAS, Diana Elizabeth (nee Zechner) - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diana Karas. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at Lakeridge Health on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the age of 46 after a courageous battle against Hodgkins Lymphoma. Beloved wife and partner of Chris Karas and loving mother of Courtney and Shannon Karas of Whitby. Cherished daughter of Frank and Bertha Zechner of Unionville. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Frank and Charlene Zechner and John and Lynn Zechner of Toronto, and devoted aunt to Wayne, Stuart, Scott, Jamie, Katie and Jack. Diana’s joyous spirit and love of life made her a treasured part of the lives of many friends and family members. Funeral service will be held at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, (21 Garrard Rd., Whitby on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.

Mr. Emil Nosko
July 18, 1932 - November 1, 2007

NOSKO, Emil John passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Loving partner of Gloria Nosko. Devoted father of Mike Nosko (Tracy), Linda Nosko, Judy (Bryon Jewell). Son of Anna Lacjak. Proud grandfather of Brad, Angie, Jocelyn (Amin), Sarah, Justin, Stacey, Monica, Mark, and Tyler. Great-Grandfather of Andrew and Abigail. Dear brother of Annie, Palacka, and Ed Nosko. Visitation will be held at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 4-7 pm and from 1:30-2:30 on Monday with funeral service to follow at 2:30 in the chapel. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society if so desired.

Mrs. Joan Slater
February 5, 1923 - October 31, 2007

SLATER, Joan passed away peacefully at Fosterbrooke Long Term Care, Newcastle, on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in her 85th year. Long time member of Centennial United Church, CAW Women's Auxiliary and Pinecrest Golf Club (Peterborough). Joan spent her working career at Duplate and General Printers. Joan was born in Crediton, Devon, England. Predeceased by her parents Esmond (Samuel) and Margenia, sisters Winnie, Marjory, Eileen, Gwen, and brothers Claud and Billy. Survived by her sister Iris. Joan was a devoted and loving wife of Charles (deceased 2004) for 60 years. Loving mother of Dorothy Mattingley (Bob) and David (Marianne). Cherished grandma of Christopher (Melanie), Matthew (Kathy), Zachary (Lisa), Jennifer (Scot), Lisa, Karen and great-grandma of Austin and Evan. Good friend of Nick Hraynik, Faith Place, Oshawa. Visitation at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby (905-665-0600) from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Memorial Service will be on Monday, November 5, 2007, at 11 am in the chapel with interment to follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated.
