In loving memory of Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Beaton, 53, of 230 Davey St., Ignace, Ont., who passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Center on Monday, July 17, 2000.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John; daughters, Alanna Beaton (Mike), Ignace, Stephanie Nadeau (Sylvain), Atikokan, and grandchildren, T.J. and Chelsey O’Connor and Reyna and Danica Nadeau. Also surviving are her mother, Rachael MacAskill, Nova Scotia; sisters, Kay Buchanan and Mora MacAskill. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
She was predeceased by father, John, brothers, Nelson and Norman, sister, Sadie Auglinuck.
Joan was born in Little River, N.S., moving to Ontario in 1967, first living in Sudbury then Pickle Lake and in 1978 moving to Ignace, Ont.
Cremation has taken place. Joan’s ashes will be taken to Nova Scotia for final disposition.

Vina Collins
61, Fenwick, Ont.
Vina Collins, 61, of Fenwick, Ont., passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Catharines, Ont.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late James and Freda (Burte) Curnew.
She is survived by her husband, George, sons, James and George Jr., daughter, Ruby Moore, grandson, David Moore, brother Ralph (Theresa) Curnew and a sister, Ruby (Walter) Kuta.
She was predeceased by her brother, Burte.
Funeral took place Saturday, July 15, with burial at Fenwick Cemetery.

Dear son of Alice and the late Alexander Morrison. Beloved husband of Carroll. Loving father of Darlene (Guy) Normandeau, Kenneth Jr., Missy (John) Christie, all of St. Catharines, and Rose (Wally) Iudiciani, Alliston. Dearest “Grampy” of Ashley, Nikki, Toni, Danni, Dena, Haley Mae and Dayne Thomas. Brother of Annette (Bill) Smith, Beverley (Ed) Keeling and the late Claude.
Ken Morrison is at the Downtown Chapel of Butler Funeral Home, 33 Duke St., St. Catharines, Ont. (905-684-2334). Service in the chapel of Friday, July 28, at 11 a.m. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m.

Dear son of Dorothy Rooth (Durnford). He is survived by his wife and two sons, eight brothers and two sisters.
He was predeceased by his father, John P. Rooth.

Everett Johnston

Everett Johnston, born at Sydney, N.S., on Nov. 22, 1919, son of the late Donald John and Annie (Morrison) Johnston, passed away at Etobicoke, Ont. on Saturday, May 27, 2000.
He was a veteran having served in the Second World War.
Beloved husband for 54 years of Gwen, dear father of Audrey and her husband, Ray Whittem, Everett and his wife Corinne, and Jay (John). Loving grandfather of three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Beloved brother of Margaret Sedgwick, Pearl Richardson and Donald Johnston.
Predeceased by sisters, Irene Johnston and Helen Morrison.
Funeral service was held at Billingsley Funeral Home, Huntsville, Ont., Tuesday, May 30.
George MacPherson

Suddenly on Sunday, May 28, 2000, in Cincinnati, Ohio, beloved husband and best friend of Pat (nee Boutilier). Loving and supportive father of Greg and Scott; father-in-law of Kristen and Melody. Grandfather of Michaela and Ashley.
George, an independent businessman, was Sr. VP of Marketing of Ethxx Int’l.
He was born in Cape Breton, N.S. and spent parts of his life in Antigonish, Truro and Halifax, N.S., before he and Pat moved to Florida for 12 years. They have resided in Toronto, Ont. since 1977.
Brother of Jeanne, Sandy and his wife, Valerie, Brian and Lynne, Fr. Robie, Barrie and Jennifer and Carole Ann.
George was predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyn, Antigonish, N.S.
George will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. George will also be missed by his very special cousin/golf partner, Gordon and his wife, Judy.
For the record, George parred his final two holes while golfing with Scott in Cincinnati.
A celebration of George’s memory will be held on June 10 at 441 Merton St., Toronto, at the residence of his son, Greg. Family and close friends are asked to attend a ceremony from 11-12. An open reception (casual attire: George wouldn’t have had it any other way) will run from noon until 5 p.m.
