James (Jimmie) Campbell

James T. (Jimmie) Campbell, 63, of Tyndall Ave., Toronto, Ont., died suddenly at home.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Archie and Violet (Burns) Campbell. Until his early retirement several years ago, he was employed for many years with Canada Packers Ltd. in Sydney and in Toronto after moving there in 1965.
He is survived by sisters, Cathy (Roman) Fedurko, Toronto, Dolores (John) Campbell, Sydney; brothers Donnie (Blanch) Campbell, Coxheath, Barry and Pat, British Columbia.
Jimmie was the much-loved uncle of Andrew Fedurko and Brian Dalton, Toronto, Karl, Blain, Jimmy, Leo and Michael Campbell, Sydney; Susan Campbell Rodriquez, Quebec, Mary Campbell, Prague, Flora Campbell, Dartmouth, Archie Campbell, Ottawa; Barry, Michelle and Brent Campbell, British Columbia.
Also surviving are a number of grand nephews and nieces, as well as aunts and uncles and numerous cousins in Ontario and Cape Breton.
Jimmie will be remembered as a kind and caring man who went to work at an early age following the death of his father and remained devoted to his widowed mother and all members of his extended family, as well as numerous friends and fellow workers.
Following a memorial gathering for a wide circle of friends and acquaintances in Toronto, the funeral will take place in Sydney at a date to be announced.

Ann Opitz, died suddenly at home, Monday, April 24, 2000.
Born in Louisbourg, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Jessie (MacCormick) MacLeod.
Surviving are a daughter, Karla Granton, Trenton; two grandchildren, Jessie and Dawn; brothers, John, Toronto, Harvey, Catalone; sister, Mary, Norfolk, Va.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert and three brothers, Austin, Malcolm and Donald.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Trenton, Ont.

Everett Roy Ryan Jr., 54, of Toronto and Sydney, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Toronto.
He is survived by daughters, Kathy, Donna and Victoria, along with sons, Robert, Adam, and Markus, and sisters, Elaine and Lynette in Toronto and brother, Danny, Sydney.
He was predeceased by parents, Everett and Mary (Larick) Ryan and a brother, Albert.
Private services were held in Toronto.
Mary Louise (Skeete) Walker

Mary Louise (Skeete) Walker passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Toronto, Ont., where she resided over the past number of years.
Born in Donkin, Cape Breton, in 1917 and was the daughter of the late Preston and Olive Skeete, beloved sister of Lemuel Skeete (Sydney), Beatrice Terry (Dartmouth), and was predeceased by her brothers, Rueben and Reginald, and a sister, Inez.
Mary was the beloved mother of daughter, Lesine and son, Mebourne, Toronto, and a son, Mervin, Calgary. Mary was a loving grandmother of Lisa, Michael, Tracy, and Joshu, and a devoted great-grandmother to Justine, Jamal, and Kenneth, and a cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
While living in Nova Scotia, Mary was a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Church and CGIT. After moving to Toronto, Mary studied classical music. She shared her gift of music as a loyal member of the Grant A.M.E. Senior/Richard Allen Choir.
A memorial celebrating Mary’s life was held April 29, with Melbourne Walker Jr., Mervin Walker, Michael Scott, and Kenneth Alexander as pall bearers, and Bobby Riley, Jack Riley, and Lemuel Skeete as honourary pall bearers. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Joseph Edward Aucoin

Joseph Edward Aucoin passed away Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Welland County General Hospital.
Born in Reserve Mines, N.S., he was the son of the late John Joseph and Marie Louise (Poirier) Aucoin.
He worked at Canada Forge as a heat treater until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Jolivet); three daughters, Jodi Marie, Tricia Lynn and Lisa Elizabeth Fancy (Ron); two brothers, George (Myrna), John (Dale), Welland, Ont.; three sisters, Margaret MacNeil (Leo), Sydney, N.S., Josephine Pake (Gord), Chatham, Ont., Patricia Frier (Bill), Chatham, Ont.
Visitation was held at Cudney Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at the Cudney Chapel with Rev. Mel Stevens of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church officiating.
Cremation followed with burial at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland, Ont.

Friends will be received at the M.D. Smith Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St., N., Woodstock, Sunday, May 7, 2000 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Monday, at 10 a.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Grounds, Brantford.
Contributions to the Osteoporosis Society would be appreciated by the family.
