Catherine (Kay) Perktin, 69, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Toronto East General, Ontario.
Kay was a member of St. Dunstan’s Parish, Toronto.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Hugh A. and Flora (MacEachern) Jobes of Boularderie.
She is survived by her son, Jon (Patti) and grandchildren, John and Erin.
She was predeceased by her son, George and by a brother, John and a sister, Mary Sarah.
She is also survived by a sister, Margaret (Joseph) O’Rielly, Sydney, a brother, George (Ida) Jobes, Sydney and a sister, Anne (Leo) Ryan, Boularderie.
Visitation was in the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, Danforth-Main, Toronto with funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Giffen-Mack Danforth Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held in St. Joachim Church, Boularderie at a later date.
Kay will be sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Beloved husband of Margaret Hill of Roseneath. Dear father of Matt, Rod and Tammy, all of Nova Scotia and Dale and Roxanne, both of Ontario. Dear brother of Matt, Bernard, Robert, Anthony, Bernardine, Carmel and Caroline, all of Calgary, Alta. and Patricia, Nova Scotia. Also missed by nine grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, Jack Roach and Florence Johnston as well as brothers and sisters, Mary, Teresa, Joseph and Earl.
Visitation was held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg, Sunday, Feb. 13. Memorial mass will be held in New Waterford, Cape Breton, N.S. at a later date. In memoriam donations may be made to Covenant House, 20 Gerard St. E, Toronto, Ont. MSB 2P3.

Etta David passed away in Toronto on Monday, Feb. 21, 2000.
Beloved daughter of the late Beinush and Fanny Lipkus of Glace Bay, devoted wife of the late Goodman David, Sydney and Toronto, devoted mother of Dr. Morton David (wife Barbara), Richmond, B.C. and Helene Medjuck (husband Harold), Thornhill, Ont., proud grandmother of Mark and Laurie David, Richmond, B.C. and Akiva, Alexander, Chaya Blima and Yehoshua Medjuck, Thornhill.
Etta was born in Glace Bay, N.S. and made her home in Sydney for over 45 years, during which she was an active participant in the Jewish community. At the same time, she also managed her late father's business, Lipkus Paint and Wallpaper, on Brookside Street in Glace Bay.
She is survived by sisters, Shirley King, Montreal, Lil Karrell, Edmonton, Ida Fleishnick, Florida and brothers, Iddle Lipkus, Montreal and Reuben Lipkus, Vancouver.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Goodman, her sisters, Rebecca Jacobson, Halifax and Montreal, Sarah Fefferman, Toronto and brothers, Nathan Lipkus, Montreal and Ben Lipkus, Glace Bay.
Her memory will always be a blessing.

Peacefully at her residence in London, Ont., on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, Rosemarie (Warcop), dear wife of 32 years to David Head, in her 54th year.
Loving mother of Melissa and Denise Head, both of London. Dear daughter of Beatrice and the late Vincent Warcop of Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia. Survived by her brothers Vince Warcop and his wife Helen of Mississauga, Tommy Warcop and his wife Paula of Nova Scotia, Robert Warcop of Reserve Mines, N.S., and her sisters Joan Mitchell of Vancouver, B.C., Mary Misfud and her husband Paul of Orangeville and Anne Haayema and her husband Tony of Alymer, Ont. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. George’s Church,, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.
Cremation with interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Prayers Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.

Lila Lillian Murrin

Lila Lillian Murrin, 60, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Brampton, Ont.
Born Lila Ludlow, in Glace Bay, she graduated from Morrison Glace Bay High School. She worked many years with the Domco Glass Company until her retirement. Lila’s positive attitude and loving personality were admired by all who knew her. She loved to laugh, to dance and enjoyed the friendship of many.
Lila is survived by mother, Etta Ludlow, Glace Bay; son, Earl; two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Erik Sahlberg), Lynne (Mrs. Patterson); three grandchildren, all residing in Ontario; two sisters, Shirley Petrie, Glace Bay and Theresa Grey, Ontario; aunt, Edith Petrie, Sydney.
Lila was predeceased by her brother, Archie Ludlow, father, John Ludlow.
The service will be held in Brampton, Ont., Saturday, Jan. 8. Family flowers only.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to palliative care.

Jacqualine Kennedy, daughter of Mrs. Phyllis Peach, Port Morien and the late Ray Kennedy, Louisbourg, passed away very suddenly at her home in Ottawa on Monday, Jan. 3, 2000.
Jackie is survived by her mother, Phyllis, long time companion and best friend, Ed Achenkampf; step-da Millage Peach; sisters, Tracey Byrne, Port Morien, Norma D. Peach, Whitehorse, Yukon and Terri Peach, Dominion. Special niece Samantha Byrne; nephews Steven and Harold Peach and Jarrett Byrne. Her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Verena Drake, North Sydney, many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as step-grandparents Joe and Joyce Peach, Port Morien.
Jackie was predeceased by her father, Ray, infant brother, Steven, maternal grandfather, Levi Drake, North Sydney, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kennedy, Louisbourg.
Jackie will be sadly missed for the laughter she always brought to people.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Ottawa with interment of ashes to be held at a later date in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery, Louisbourg.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
