Mary Regina (MacAdam) Fitzgerald

In loving memory of Mary Regina Fitzgerald (nee MacAdam) in her 84th year, who passed away at her residence at Sudbury, Ont., Monday, Nov. 1, 1999.
Predeceased by her husband, Joseph (Selrite Stores, Whitney Pier) in 1987, and son, Donald Joseph.
Survived by her son, Justice William FitzgeraId (wife Rose Lynn); grandchildren, Leslie, Paul, Frances and Regina; sisters, Rev. Sister Teresa MacAdam CND, Mabou, Rev. Sister Patricia MacAdam CND, Montreal and Mary Green, St. John’s.
Predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Honora MacAdam, sister, Bessie and brothers, Allan, Donald and Hugh.
Also surviving are her sisters, Frances, Halifax, Eileen, New Waterford, Margaret, Sussex, N.B. and Terry, Cornwall, Ont. and her brother, George, Orillia, Ont.
Also predeceased by her sisters, Rev. Agnes MacAdam CND, Constance and Nora. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by her sister-in-law and special friend, Pol Curry, now of Dartmouth.
Regina and Joe had enjoyed retirement years in Mexico after their many happy years in Cape Breton, in Sydney and at Mira. At her request there was no public visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Michael Gerard Anderson

Michael Gerard Anderson, 35, formerly of York Street, Sydney, passed away on Nov. 10, 1999, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, Ont.
Michael is the beloved son of George and Mary (Kennedy) Anderson of Irish Vale.
Michael is survived by his loving partner, Andre Boudreau, formerly of Sydney; sisters, Tara (Peter) Manley, Portage, Linda (Gordon) MacDougall, Westmount; brothers, Greg (Angela), Yarmouth, Allan (Rose), New Victoria, Jackie (Noelle), Irish Vale, Logan (Sherry), Sydney. Michael will be deeply missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, Emanuel and Georgina (King) Anderson and Alex and Annie May (MacNeil) Kennedy.
There will be visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Gillis officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

John McDonald, peacefully at his residence. Johnny (Saucy) McDonald, formerly of New Waterford, N.S. passed away in his 69th year.
Beloved husband of Margaret (nee MacPherson); loving father of Hughie, Darlene (James) McAvoy, Kevin (Linda) McDonald, Florence (Donnie) Moffatt, and Jimmy (Tracy) McDonald. Loving sister of Aggie (Gordie) Desveaux; brother Jimmy McDonald.
Predeceased by his parents Dan Hughie and Catherine Margaret (Hines). Sister Flossie McDonald and brother Richard (Rita) McDonald. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Dylan and Tyler Moffatt, Shelby and Sean McAvoy, Josh, Mark and Kevin McDonald. Loved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Remembered fondly by his brothers and sisters-in-law.
Resting at the Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, Toronto, 1939 Lawrence Ave., East (Between Warden and Pharmacy) from 2-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Shrine (St. Clair Ave. East, east of Victoria Park). Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Donald J. Stewart

Donald J. Stewart passed away peacefully Nov. 8, 1999, at Scarborough General Hospital.
Born in New Aberdeen, he later took up residence in Ontario.
Survived by his loving wife, Mildred (Clarke) Stewart; three sons, Angus, Douglas and Donald (Butch). Family members in Glace Bay are Angus (Bernice), Lolly (Richard Penny) and Pat McIntyre.
Predeceased by parents Daniel and Catherine Stewart; brothers, Douglas, Lloyd; sister Annie.
Donald having served overseas in the Canadian Army for five years was honored with a full military service at Watts Funeral Home on Nov. 11.
Cremation took place and burial will take place a later date in Glace Bay.
M. Joseph Pickup
81, Ontario
Martin Joseph Pickup, 81, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in Beeton, Ont. after a brief illness.
He was born in North Sydney, a son of the late John W. and Eunice (MacPherson) Pickup.
He moved from North Sydney to Port Credit, Ontario in the early 1960s. He was a former member of St. Joseph’s Parish, North Sydney, a veteran of the Second World War serving with Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945, he was a member of Branch No. 19 Royal Canadian Legion, North Sydney.
Surviving are his daughters, Sheila (George Hibbs), St. Anthony, Nlfd., Nancy (Darrel Day), Saline, Michigan, Norma (Ralph), Alliston, Ont.; sons, Thaddie (Sandra), Everett, Ont., Martin, Sydney Mines; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta (MacDonald); brothers, Foch, Dennis, Alexander and William; a sister, Ophie (Rolls).
Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass was celebrated at Simcoe Manor, Beeton, Ontario.
John Reginald Steele MacNeil

After a courageous battle at the Henderson Hospital, Hamilton, Ont. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999.
Predeceased by his parents, John MacNeil (1958) and Effie (Steele) (1994).
Loving husband and best friend of Nancy McKay and her children, Kevin and Murray, all of London, Ont., Don, Melbourne, Ont. and Francine Bayley and her husband, Brad, Cambridge, Ont. Dear Papa of Trisha and Joshua. Dearly beloved brother of Walter MacNeil, Reserve Mines, Helen Cormier and Catherine Bund, both of Brantford, Ont., Maurina O’Brien, Reserve Mines and Mildred Honch, Fullerton, Calif. Godfather to Mark Bund. He will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers, Cyril (1998), Joseph (1990) and John Joseph (infancy).
John was stationed in Germany with the Royal Canadian Regiment and was a 30-year employee of Gates Canada in Brantford.
Funeral service at Beckett Glaves Family Funeral Centre, Brantford, Ont., Friday, Nov. 19, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford.

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wednesday, Nov. 17 1999, in her 72nd year. Loving sister of Frances and her husband Malcolm MacNeil, Rev. Fr. Joseph MacNeil, Colette MacNeil and her husband John Lasruk.
Before retiring, Marie worked for Imperial Oil for over 20 years.
Friends were received at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford, Ont., Friday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly St., Brantford.
