John Dyer, Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999 at the age of 35.
Born in Sydney, John was a son of George and Elizabeth (MacEachern). He was a teacher at the Neil Squire Foundation in Ottawa.
John will be sadly missed by his parents; his brother, George, Sydney; his sisters, Linda and Susan, Sydney and Evelyn (Marc) Robert, Ottawa; his foster brother, David MacDonald, Sydney; and many relatives and numerous friends.
A private family viewing will be held Sunday, Dec. 12 from 7-9 p.m. under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Sydney Pentecostal Church with Pastor Terrence Carew officiating.

Beloved husband of the late Verna (Bunny).
Loving father of Peter (Butch) and his wife Diane. Grandfather of two and great-grandfather of three.
Son of the late John Bisson Sr. and Sarah Mclnnis.
Survived by sisters, Florence, Cecelia, Evangeline and brothers, Wilfred, Joe and Bernie.
Predeceased by sisters, Theresa, Molly, Maggie and Katie and brothers, Johnny and Ernest.

Patricia (Trisha) Petrie, suddenly, surrounded by her family on Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the Henderson Hospital in Hamilton, at the age of 59.
Beloved wife for 39 years of Bill. Much loved mother of Margo, Dean and his wife Tina and Karen and her husband Edward Bikinas. Doting grandmother of Kyle, Mallory, Laura, Aaron, Julia and Nicole. Loving daughter of Stephen and the late Bridget Andreyck. Dear sister of Bill, Basil, Jeannie, Stephen and Donna.
The family is devastated by the passing of Trisha. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. East, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Prayers will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, Monday at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment will be held at a later date in Glace Bay, N.S. passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Toronto, on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, Eric Spencer in his 77th year, (formerly of Dominion, Cape Breton, N.S.).
He was a retired employee of Dominion Coal company; wounded veteran of the Cape Breton Highlanders, served overseas in the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 210.
Survived by his wife, Marie (McNeil); three sons, Eric (Linda), Dominion, Wayne (Gail) and Dale, both of Toronto; four daughters, Diane Seymour, Donalda (Wayne) Borden, Patricia Rideout, Jeannie McNeil; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his brother, Wilfred, Vancouver.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary (Boutilier) Spencer, three brothers, Lawrence, Freeman and George, five sisters, Charlotte Lynk, Lorna MacDonald, Mary Jane Saccary, Cora Young and Melissa Spencer.
Resting at the Newediuk Funeral Home, Kipling Chapel, 2104 Kipling Ave., Toronto, (416) 745-7555 from Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday leaving the funeral home 9:30 a.m. to St. Gregory’s Church, 122 Rathburn Rd. (at Kipling) for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Gerald (Mick) MacMullin

Gerald (Mick) MacMullin passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, peacefully at home after a brief illness.
He was employed as a firefighter with the Richmond Hill Fire Department until his recent retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane and daughters, Cindie and Carol, both of Chestermere, Alta. and a son, Gerald, Maple Ridge, B.C. and four grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Roddie MacMullin, Glace Bay and George (Tiny) MacMullin, Windsor, Ont.; sisters, Muriel Ryan, Passchendale, Vera Caume and Moxie Oliver, Reserve Mines, Theresa Howard, Detroit and Eileen Podhy, Windsor, Ont.
He was previously deceased by his parents, George and Louise MacMullin and brothers, Cyril, Phonse, George (Bub) and sisters, Lucella Mackie and Kay Bryden.
Visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 16 and cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Cape Breton at a later date.
