Peter MacDonald
36, Ontario
Mr. Peter MacDonald, 36, a resident of Thunder Bay, Ont., died on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000.
Born in Sydney, N.S., Peter moved to Thunder Bay with his family in 1969.
He attended St. Vincent’s, St. Patrick’s and Northwood high schools. He returned with his family to reside in Sydney from 1978 until 1986 when he returned to Thunder Bay. He worked as a short order cook in various restaurants and he also did volunteer work for a homeless shelter.
Peter is survived by his mother, Ellen MacDonald, Sydney; daughter, Jessica; brother, Alex MacDonald, British Columbia; sisters, Suzanne MacDonald, Thunder Bay; Kathy Kelly, Winnipeg. He is also survived by a number of other relatives.
He was predeceased by his father, John MacDonald.
A memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 25, in the Blake Funeral Chapel, Thunder Bay. Interment has taken place in Sydney.
If friends so desire, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Peter MacDonald in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
Annual dedication service is scheduled for Sunday, June 24, 2001.

Marguerite D. MacLellan
74, Ottawa, Ont.
Marguerite D. MacLellan, R.N., 74, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at the Ottawa General Hospital.
Born in Sydney, July 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Robert S. MacLellan, QC, and Sadie (Ferguson) MacLellan.
She graduated from Holy Angles Convent and St. Martha’s Hospital in 1947. After graduation, she was employed as a stewardess for Trans Canada Airlines for eight years. She was on staff at Sydney City Hospital for several years, and also at the Jewish General in Montreal. She worked as a private duty nurse in Toronto, retiring due to ill health. She was a resident of Pleasant Rest Nursing Home, Hawkesbury, Ont., for 10 years.
She is survived by her brother, Bob, QC (Margaret), Ottawa; sisters, Catherine, Moira MacCormack, Sydney, Marjorie Chiasson, Halifax; 11 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a nephew, Robert D. MacCormack in 1973.
Cremation has taken place. Remains to be interred at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks, at a later date.
Charitable donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.

John Charles (J.C.) MacQueen
Ottawa, Ont.
John Charles (J.C.) MacQueen, a former resident of Sydney, N.S., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus.
John MacQueen at the age of 85, beloved husband of Peggy (Margaret Ellis). Much loved father of Shirley and Barbara Whalen (Len). Cherished grandfather of Rob, John, Shane, Tim and Alex and great-grandfather of Jena, Faith and Mary. Brother of Florence MacLeod, Natick, Mass.
Predeceased by Evertt, Isabelle and Teresa.
Friends may call at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd. at Albion Road, Ottawa, today (Wednesday) from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Gloucester Presbyterian Church (Pike Street at Lorry Greenberg Drive) Interment Capital Memorial Gardens.
Special thanks to the staff at Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre and the Emergency Room and 6th floor staff at the General Hospital.
Donations to your local Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.

73, London, Ont.
Angeline (McInnis) Dunlop, 73, died peacefully at her home in London, Ont., after a brave fight with cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000.
Born in Florence, she resided in Whitney Pier before moving to London, Ont. in 1969.
Beloved wife of Harry Lewis Dunlop; dear mother of Wayne (Brenda), Thamesford, Ont., Sylvia Johnston (Bill), Kingston, Ont., Harriette Boutilier (Floyd), Bras d’Or, Bill (Jane), London, Ont.; loving grandmother of Harry, Roderick, Blair, Jeanette, Floyd, Nadine, Harriette, Jamie, Sanford, Julia, Du-Wayne, Paula, Jimmy, Paula, Christina, Shawn, Raymond, Deborah, Julianna, BJ and Jennifer; great-grandmother of Ashley, Joshua, Samantha, Justin, Krystal, Jessie, Jordan, Bryson, Joe, Beth, Catherine, Mary, Alexander, Laura, Russell, Emma, Stephen and Boden.
She is survived by sisters, Emma Will, Brantford, Ont., Mary Cartwright, Truro, N.S. and Annette Oslund of Kimberley, B.C.; one sister-in-law, Vonnie MacInnis, George’s River, N.S.; brothers, Bill, Bras d’Or, N.S., Roderick (Kay), Duncan (Yvonne) and Thomas (Mae), all of George’s River, N.S., Hughie (Ann) and Farrell (Frances), both of London, Ont. and aunts, Angeline (Jean) MacIntyre (Godmother), George’s River, N.S. and Sybil Maxwell, Berwick, N.S. and an uncle, Everett Capstick, Florence, N.S. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially close friend, Allison and good neighbours, Ron and Joey.
Angeline was predeceased by an infant daughter and son, Harry Lewis, parents, Roderick Francis and Mary Florence (Hosking), grandson W. Stephen Johnston, brothers, John Charles and Elmer James, sisters, Mary Viola Dunlop and Mary Frances Johnston.
Friends will be received Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Evans Chapel, Furtney Funeral Homes, 648 Hamilton Rd., London, Ont. (519) 451-9350. A service will be held in Evans Chapel with Rev. Terry Hastings officiating on Oct. 6, 2000 at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow. A funeral service will be held in St. James Presbyterian Church, Big Bras d’Or, N.S. with burial in the church cemetery (date and time to be announced).
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, London Palliative Care or a charity of your choice.

Jeff Forrest
21, Thorold, Ont.
Jeff Forrest, 21, a resident of Thorold, Ont., and formerly of 32 Pierce St., North Sydney, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, in Hamilton, Ont., after a tragic accident on Sept. 28, 2000.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of Brian and Jeannette Forrest of North Sydney and Mary and Tom Walsh of Thorold, Ont.
Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Vincent; one sister, Tracey (Robert MacMullin); two stepbrothers, Matthew and Russell Dowling; also by paternal grandparents, Raymond and Theresa Forrest; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Clifford. He will be sadly missed by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, with burial to follow in Lakeside Cemetery, both in Thorold, Ont.

Mary (nee MacMullin) Allan, RN
78, Kingston, Ont.
Mary (nee MacMillan) Allan, 78, of Kingston, Ont., formerly of Reserve Mines, N.S., passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2000.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Anne (Johnston) MacMillan.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Allan, infant sons, John and Micheal, as well as brothers, John and Andrew MacMillan.
Survived by sons, David, Charles, Donald and Robert; daughters, Anne Marie Newcombe, Mary Gerolomi, Miriam Conway and Naomi Morin, all of Kingston, Ont.; brother, Donald (Piper) MacMillan, Coxheath and a sister, Anne Boyce, Dartmouth.
In memory of Mary, donations may be made to St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital, Kingston, Ont.

Herbert (Herb) Belonzo, at Scarborough Hospital General Division on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000.
Beloved husband of Helen. Loving son of Mary Belonzo (nee Colton) and the late Joseph Belonzo. Brother of John (Gloria), Annie, Brenda (Billie) and the late Maurice and George (Mick) Belonzo. Uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-great-uncle to one niece.
Cremation has been held. A memorial service was held on Oct. 7, 2000 at Pine Hills Cemetery.
Donations in memory made to the Palliative Care Unit of Scarborough Hospital General Division would be appreciated.
