Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 16, 2012 at the Beaver and Bulldog, 195 1st Street, Collingwood On, from 2-4pm. Cherished mother of Mary Normandin, Bill Irwin and his wife Kathleen, Alleen Wilcox and her husband Kent, Bruce Irwin and his wife Deb and Sally Teakle. Dear grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Sister of Dave Fletcher and his wife Mary Ann, Fred Fletcher and his wife Doreen and Ted Fletcher. Sister-in-law of June Rae. Predeceased by her son Jim (1964). A private graveside service will take place. BUCHNER (nee VROOMAN) - MILDRED BERNICE - passed away on May 18, 2009 peacefully at Trillium Villa Nursing Home. Predeceased by husband (Harold Sr.), her parents Ruth and Charles Vrooman and siblings Alma, Samuel, Virgil, Irene, Andrew, and Nelson. Survived by siblings Bertha of Owego, NY, Blanche (Jack) Owego, NY and Shorty (Clara) Clearwater FL, sisters in law Mildred Vrooman (Rockwell NC) and Frances Vrooman (Owego, NY). Survived by her children Harold Jr. (Deborah), William (Judy), Cathy Jennings (David) and Dale (Patti-deceased) along with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was born in Roseburg, Michigan in 1916 and later moved to New York State with her siblings where she worked on the family farm. From there she worked in various places and during WWII she was employed in North Carolina on the Air Base for 3 years and returned to Port Huron after the War to seek employment. She was married in Niagara Falls, where she then moved to Sarnia where her 4 children were born and raised. She was a passionate Stamp Collector and a long time member of the Sarnia Stamp Club. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Trillium Villa and Dr. Gamble for their wonderful care she had received for the past 2 years. They are truly a special group of people. There will be no visitation. A family graveside service will be performed at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Mildred will be sadly missed by all those in her family and her many friends she met on her journey in life. We were all truly blessed for having known her. Suddenly at London Health Science Centre - University Campus on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, SUZANNE ELAINE (BARRY) WELTER, age 53, of Sarnia, lost her battle with cancer. Loving wife of R. David Welter and dear mother of Shannon Lewis of Sarnia and Jennifer Pauch and her husband Jeff of West Toluca Lake, California. Step-mother of Robert Welter and his wife Karen and Todd Welter. Loving grandmother of Morgan Smith, Robbie and Paula Welter. Suzanne will be sadly missed by her mother Eileen Barry of Sarnia and her siblings Ken Barry and his wife Jane, Maureen Weiler and her husband Gary, Robert Barry and his wife Margaret, John Barry and his wife Jan, Donna Laur and her husband Bob, Joann Coady and Michael Barry and his wife Susan. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Shawn, Katie, Jeff, Chris, Jon, Matthew, Andrea, Stephen, Ken, Keven, Kristin, Kevin, Justin, Trevor, Megan, James, Patrick, Tyler, Laura, Robin and Travis as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Pre-deceased by her father Cecil Barry and a brother Kevin, Suzanne was a lifelong Sarnia area resident. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Suzanne’s life will take place in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, May 26th. at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, LORRAINE (BOUCHER) KAZANECKI, age 60, of Sarnia, passed away. Dear sister of Rheal, Yvonne, Raymond, Estelle, Susie and Annette. She was predeceased by her parents Jeanine and Romuald Boucher. Lorraine had worked at Moore and Dow Credit Unions and retired from Lambton Financial in 2008. A private viewing will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME prior to cremation. A reception will follow at the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 8th. HUININK – Bernard Hendrik, 85, of Woodstock, passed away quietly in his own home on Saturday, January 24, 2009. He is survived by six children: Henrietta Hielema of Kitchener-Waterloo, Leida Gerrits (Henry) of Clinton, Shirley Vos (John) of Sarasota, FL, Henry Huinink of Hamilton, Esther Huinink of Guelph and Jim Huinink (Shirley) of Kitchener-Waterloo. Dear brother of Mina Roseboom, Sien Tibben, Bernarda De Jonge and Lies Van de Graaf and brother-in-law of Henny Huinink. Predeceased by brothers Gerhard and Hendrik, sisters Hanna Tibben and Dien Vander Kamp and his first wife, Hilje. Devoted, beloved grandfather of Brenda, Gregg, Jennifer, Tim, Crystle, Eric, Marsha, Laura, David, Chantal, Brandon, Tess and Cicely; great-grandfather of Geoffrey, Melissa, Noah, Joel, Joshua, Jacqueline, Aly, Cassie and Emma. He also loved and was loved by numerous nephews and nieces in both Canada and the Netherlands. Bernard was born June 16, 1923, in Winterswijk, the Netherlands. During World War II, he risked his life in the Dutch resistance. He immigrated to Canada in June, 1950. He became a respected leader in the construction and real estate industry in Oxford County, having built over 100 homes in Woodstock and area, as BH Construction and owner of Floral Properties. After leaving construction, he was the first employee at Uvalux and stayed there until his retirement at 70. He volunteered at Telecare Woodstock for over 20 years. Throughout his life, Bernard loved to explore new horizons in business, learning and travel. He lived a full life and gave prodigiously. His unique character combined curious adventurousness, stubborn honesty and a score of other admirable traits and he will be dearly missed by all those who loved him. Friends and family will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Lansdowne Ave, Woodstock, on Thursday January 29, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Loerts officiating. At Trillium Villa on Monday, May 11, 2009, MARGARET EMILY (MURRAY) WARNING, age 89, of Sarnia, beloved wife of the late Charles William Warning. Dear mother of C. William Warning and his wife Kathie of Maine Island, BC, Elizabeth Craig and her husband Terry of Saskatoon, SK, Jennifer Prowse and her husband Terry of Victoria, BC, Margaret Demuth and her husband Mike of Arnprior, Christopher Warning of Sarnia, John Warning and his wife Kim of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, and Georgina Ehman and her husband David of Ottawa. Dear sister of Gordon Murray of Toronto and Walter Murray and his wife Helen of Orillia. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A lifelong Sarnia area resident, Mrs. Warning was a member of St. Paul's United Church. She was pre-deceased by three sisters Helen, Mildred and Florence and three brothers Scott, Alexander and George Murray. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, May 14th. at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. At Bluewater Health - Norman Site on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, JOAN MARIE (VOSBOURGH) NICHOLS, age 76, of Sarnia, beloved wife of Roy Allan Nichols. Dear mother of Brian Nichols and his wife Sandy of Sarnia and Kevin Nichols and his wife Sheila of Corunna. Loving grandmother of Jody, Lisa, Tara, Jessica, Craig and Sarah. Also survived by four great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law Jamie Nichols. Predeceased by a son Wayne, Mrs. Nichols was born at Petrolia, and had resided in Sarnia for the past 57 years. She was a member of Dunlop United Church. Cremation has taken place. A graveside interment of ashes will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Friday, May 8th at 11:00 am. with Rev.
