March 1, 1923 - June 25, 2013 (age 90)

Marcia was born to Charles Dufferin Roblin and Sophia May (Murdoch) on March 1, 1923 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Marcia was predeceased by her brother, former Manitoba Premier Duff (Mary) Roblin and her sister Cynthia (Stanley) Brown. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband Bryce Cousens (RAF – ret.), OBE and her beloved son, John Rhys Sale. She is survived by her adored daughter Andrea Sale, her brother Rod (Genevieve) Roblin and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Marcia was a gifted designer who studied at the University of Manitoba. She married John Sale of Windsor, Ontario shortly after WWII and devoted herself to her new family. Marcia and John and their family were transferred to Brussels, Belgium. Unfortunately the marriage didn’t last. While living in Brussels, she met and married the love of her life – Bryce Cousens, a prominent English businessman. When he retired they moved to England. Bryce passed away from a long illness in 1976. Marcia stayed in England for a few more years, and then decided to return to Canada. She travelled across the country, reacquainting herself with family and friends she hadn’t seen in twenty years. Eventually she and her daughter Andrea bought a house together and settled in Barrie, Ontario.
Her great passions were her children, her husband Bryce, English literature and European art and history.
Marcia will always be remembered for her intelligence, her spirit and her dignity. Service and interment will be held in Winnipeg at the end of August. The date will be posted later.
