Beloved wife of more than 50 years to husband Keith. Adored mother of Rosalie (Medeiros), Austin and his wife Pamela and Jeoffrey. Cherished grandmother of Jarrett, Kyle, Jacob and Benjamin. Coleman, Lenora Helen (Earley). It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Coleman of Barrie, Ontario in her 94th year on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Predeceased by her husband Spurgeon (Spinx) and her much loved son Max. Momma to Brenton (Rollande) of Callander, ON, Joe (Carol) of Hampton, NS, Barbara Friedl of Hamilton, ON, Betty Mason (Harvey) of Kirkland Lake, ON, Phillip (Gail) of Barrie, ON, Debra (Drew) Johnston of Barrie, ON. Nannie will be greatly missed by her 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. As well she leaves behind many family and friends from coast to coast, especially her dear sister-in-law, Cora Green of Nictaux, NS. She never ceased to marvel at the birth of a baby, “aren’t they just a miracle”, she would say. She loved all animals with a particular fondness for cats. Lee was born October 9, 1919 in the small fishing village of Margaretsville, Nova Scotia, she is the last direct descendant of the first lighthouse keeper, William Early. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lee’s life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 9:00am in the chapel of Grove Park Home, Barrie, ON for family and close friends. Interment at Barrie Union Cemetery, Barrie, ON. The family would like to thank all the staff on “maple” at Grove Park Home for their friendship, compassion and care given to Lee. On Sunday October 20, 2013 Rosaline was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. Loving wife for 50 years of Elmer Carlson of Blind River. Dear mom of Vandra (Alan) of North Bay, Erik (Angela) and Inalyn (Neil) both of Blind River. Precious Nanny of Tyler, Brittney, Hannah, Olivia, Aileigh, Luke and Claire and proud Great-Nanny of Amelia, Jaden, Tayven and Grant. Daughter of The Reverend William and Myrtle Helmer (predeceased) and sister of Bryan Helmer (Joanne), Wayne Helmer (Barbara) and the late Bill Helmer (Debbie). Rosaline will be lovingly missed by her many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Carlson family. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rosaline taught school in the Blind River area for over thirty years and will be fondly remembered by her many students and colleagues. Rosaline was very firm in her faith and selflessly gave of her time and energy to the church. Ella Ruth Birmingham (nee Bint) passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the age of 83. Ella is survived by her loving children Robert Birmingham of London, Clare (Sonia) Birmingham of St. Thomas, and Debbie (Don) Miller of St. Thomas; by her grandchildren Kelly (Mike) Czekurlon and their daughter Avery of British Columbia, Jamie Birmingham of London, Greg (Nicole) Birmingham and their son Logan of St. Thomas, Julie Birmingham of London, Brittany Miller and Branden Miller both of St. Thomas; and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Clare Birmingham, her son Larry Birmingham, her brothers John and Earle Bint; and by her sisters Agnes O’Hearn and Audrey Wolfenden. Ella was most proud of her family and their accomplishments. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening, crafts, and playing euchre and cribbage.
