Fredrick George “Fred” Sampson passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital at the age of 60. Fred is survived by his loving wife Barb Sampson (nee Seymour); his son Darrell (Michelle) Sampson and their children Carter and Kennedy all of St. Thomas; his mother Virginia Sampson of London; by his sisters Kathleen (Harold) Lake of Edmonton, Sharon (Rollie) Martens of Kelowna, B.C.; his brothers Richard Sampson of Kelowna, B.C. and Robert (Bonnie) Sampson of London; sister Debbie (Dave) Young of Port Bruce; sisters-in-law Janie Sampson of London and Kathy (Jerry) Pawitch of Strathroy; and by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his father Harry Sampson and his brother Charles Sampson. Fred’s passion for architecture lead him to begin his career as a draftsman. Eventually he wanted to become more hands-on with his projects, which inspired him to start his own framing company. As the years passed, he transitioned into the role of superintendent for several construction companies. Fred also enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren Carter and Kennedy. Yvonne Elaine Povelofskie of R.R. #1 Desboro, passed away peacefully at her home, with family by her side, on Friday, September 6, 2013 in her 81st year.
Born in Chesley on September 12, 1932, daughter of the late William Austin and Lucinda Muir. She was predeceased by her husband Lyle in 2006. Cherished mother of Randy of R.R. #1 Desboro, Susan (Charles) Gateman of Shallow Lake, William (Jacqueline) of Williams Lake, B.C., Braun (Pamela) of Williams Lake, B.C., Tim (Anita) of Listowel, Joy of R.R. #1 Desboro, and Janet (David) Condinho of Fordwich. Yvonne will be sadly missed by 17 grandchildren: Dennis (Renee), Amanda (Jody), Joel (Heather), Valerie (Steve), Jasmin (Kelly), Daina (Ryan), Fawn (Keith), Robin, William (Danielle), Tyler, Calista (Ron), Jasmin (Lindsey), Nicole (Graham), Amelia (Miles), Vanessa, Mariah, and Savannah. Lovingly remembered by 8 great-grandchildren: Emily, Travis, Penelope, Austin, Jake, Kona, Kayden, and Faith. Dear sister of Doris Batty of Harriston. The family of David George Carter (1950-2015) sadly announce that Dave passed away at Grace General Hospital, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on May 16th, 2015.
He was pre-deceased by his father Herbert, his mother Dorothy and his sister Shirley. He left behind his beloved sister Cheryl (Peter), his life partner Diane, their two daughters Jasmine (Thomas) and Annie (Daniel), three beautiful grand-daughters Zoë-Ann, Nikita, Lilly, one nephew, several nieces, and many friends. He was born and raised in Montreal, but he also spent parts of his life in Eastern Townships, and on Vancouver Island.His family will remember him as a free spirit who enjoyed using his many creative talents playing piano and guitar, traveling, carpentry, gardening and cooking.
His memorial will take place at Riverside Cemetery on September fifth, and a celebration of life will be held at the Royal Legion in Sutton afterward.

Loving husband for 58 years to the late Waltraut (nee Martens) Husak (2011). Dearly loved father of John Husak (Janice) of Port Stanley, and the late Helga Jacques (1999) (Mike of BC). Cherished grandfather of Jim, Jason, Amanda and Andrea. Loved great grandfather of Christopher, Quinton, Sydney, and Brianna. Also fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Christa Lindemann (Walter), and his nephew Walter Lindemann (Colleen), all of London. John was born on August 25, 1924, in the Ukraine. He was a retired carpenter, having worked in the St. Thomas area. John was a member of Holy Angels’ Roman Catholic Church, St. Thomas. There will be no public visitation. PELL – David William Pell passed away, surrounded by his family, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in his 77th year. Dave is survived by his loving wife Sharon; his children John Pell of Shedden, Wesley (Kim) Pell of Ft. Saskatchewan, and Marc (Foti) Pell of Montreal; by his grandchildren Patrick (Lydia) Pell, Sarah (Brent) Hotke, Marie (Kevin) Braga all of St. Thomas, Christine Pell (Adam) of London, Ashley Neill (Chris), Mandy (Chris) Brown, Jennifer King all of St. Thomas, and Derek and Trevor Pell of Ft. Saskatchewan; by his thirteen great grandchildren; by his sisters Joyce (Jack) Prothero of British Columbia, Virginia (Ormond) Steele of Nevada, Sylvia (Jim) Brady of Long Point, Jan (Chuck) Stamas of Tillsonburg; his brothers Fred (Kylene) Pell of Alabama and George (Katherine) Pell of British Columbia; by his sisters-in-law Patricia (Doug) Ough of St. Thomas, Shirley (Sam) Vary, Dora Simmons both of Wheatley; by his brother-in-law Robert Fleming of St. Thomas; and by his many nieces and nephews. He was an elder and treasurer at Fingal Knox Presbyterian church for 33 years and he loved a good game of cards, especially euchre.
