GODFREY, Henry - The family announces with sorrow his death, Friday December 6th 2013, at his residence at the age of 81 years. Son of late William and Della Godfrey (nee Hewitt). Beloved husband of Patricia Godfrey (nee Cooper) of Azilda. Loving father of Gayle Wilson (Mark) of Moncton, B.C., Henry Junior of Sudbury, Jim of Azilda, and Kelly (Joanne) of Chelmsford. Russell (predeceased in 1987). Dear brother of Viola Cudmore (late Herb) of Porcupine, Rosella “toots” Cooper (Barry) of West Bank, B.C., Norma Compton (late Earl), Josephine Judd (late Lloyd), all of Dowling. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Pansy Rosenberger Matheson (late Jim Rosenberger, Don Matheson), Bill (late Monica), Jim, Margaret Kolbun (late Nick), Rosella Judd-Gordon (late Earl Judd, Austin Gordon) and Walter (Arva of Dowling). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Joseph Godfrey, Taylor Wilson, Mackenzy-Lee Godfrey, Russ Godfrey, Carrie-Lynn Calow, Melanie & Brady Godfrey. Henry enjoyed fishing for years with his fishing buddies Bobby, Joe and the rest of the guys from the camp. He enjoyed going to the River Valley bluegrass festivals with his good friends Oscar and Joe. He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #553 Chelmsford where he served on the executive in various positions, including branch president. Since his illness, he really missed his outings at the Legion with his friends. Henry had a great sense of humour and always tried to make everyone feel special. He had a heart of gold. STOSS, Mrs. Magdalena “Lena” (nee Hehl), formerly of Shedden, passed away at the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, St. Thomas on Sunday, December 8, 2013, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Steve Stoss (2001). Loved mother of Stefan Stoss of Salt Spring Island, BC, and Werner Stoss and his wife Myrna of Shedden. Cherished grandmother of Craig Stoss of Waterloo, and Laura Hofer and her husband Michael of Fergus. Also survived by sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hehl of Strathroy, as well as niece, Ingrid and nephews, Harry, Robert, Peter and their families. Her brothers, Jacob and Christian Hehl predeceased her. Born in Moragy, Hungary, May 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jakob and Susanne (nee Glockner) Hehl. Lena and her husband came to Canada in 1956 and to Shedden in 1966. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas and formerly the Country Circle of the church. Lena was a former member of the Fingal Quilters, and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Peacefully at Trillium Villa Nursing Home on Saturday, November 30, 2013, ROSE ELLEN LINDSAY (nee Eheler), age 95 of Sarnia passed away. Beloved wife of the late Orville Richard Wesley Lindsay (1960).Dear mother of Wilbert Norman Lindsay and his wife Mona of Sarnia and David Graham Lindsay and his wife Donna of British Columbia.Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Darrin, Kevin and Rhonda and great grandmother of Lily and Maia. Rose was a longtime employee of the Sarnia Jail where she worked as a Matron. The family would like to thank the staff at Trillium Villa Nursing Home and Vision Rest Home for the excellent care Mom received. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
