ROGERS, Linda (nee Wetherup) -

In her 65th year, Linda peacefully passed away on Sunday June 20, 2010 with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother to Gord (Marie) and Carol (Chris) Gadsden. Dear sister to Susan (Jerry) Hughes. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Devon, Ryan, Chris and Scotty. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Garnet & Helen Wetherup and Sid.

Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Thursday June 24th, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday June 25th, 2010 at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior.

If desired, Memorial Donations made to ALS Society or Enfield United Church would be appreciated.

STANIC, Carlo -

Died peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 87th year with his loving family around him.

Beloved husband of Angela Stanic of 61 years, loving father of Lidia (Stan), Irma, Rosemary (Brian), Mary Ann (Dave) and Carla (Bill), predeceased by his son John and sister Ernesta. Loving Poppa of Tyler, Brandon, Benjamin and Stephen. Dear brother to sisters Emma (Natale) of Peterborough and Romana (Srecko) of Scarborough. Carlo will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be missed by his many balinca friends at Holiday Gardens.

Special thanks to the staff of 9G for their compassionate care and support (especially Barbara Ann and Keisha).

Visitation will be held at the BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd N on Tuesday, June 22 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church on 91 Ribblesdale Dr, Whitby on Wednesday, June 23 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Taunton Rd. Whitby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be may be made to Palliative Care Lakeridge Health or the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre.

CHURCH, Walter (Moe) --

The family of Walter (Moe) Church announces with sadness his passing on Saturday, June 19th, 2010.

Beloved husband of Joan. Loving father of Doug, Dale and Dawn. Inspired by his loving grandchildren, sister Audrey and her husband Ross, and his best friend, little pup Jodie.

Moe was a life long resident of Whitby and will be missed by his many friends and band mates from the Whitby Brass Band. Rest peacefully, Moe.

Friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (N. of Hwy 2) on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 1 - 2 p.m.

Funeral Service in the Mount Lawn Chapel on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. Cremation.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

COMERFORD, Thomas (Tom) Andrew

August 31, 1923 - June 19, 2010 Peacefully at Oshawa Lakeridge Health Centre on Saturday, June 19, 2010.

Predeceased by his loving wife Carmela Alaggia and his brother Patrick Comerford. Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Visitation 12-2 p.m. at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME (Dignity), 847 King St. W., Oshawa.

Funeral Mass will follow afterward at 2:30 p.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, 194 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa. Refreshments will follow in the church hall after mass.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Beloved wife of Conrad for 54 years. Loving mother to Craig (Kirsten), Doug (Paulette) and David. Cherished grandmother to Gavin, Brian, Tori, Kyra and Kade. She will be missed by her brothers Bruce and Ferris and her sisters Lois, Lil and Carol.

Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Thursday June 24th from 12-2 p.m. Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation.

SALWAY, Morton Rowe “Monte” -

Peacefully, in his 85th year, Monte Salway passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Saturday, June 19, after a week-long struggle with pneumonia.

Monte will be sadly missed by wife Margaret, children Shirley, Karen, Janice, David and Craig, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Monte was the youngest child of Eva Mary Rowe Salway and Alfred Edward Salway, and was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.

A WW II veteran, he was the proud owner of Monte Salway Plastering and Monte’s Magic.

There was a private, family celebration of his life.

Passed away at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Friday, June 18th 2010 at the age of 78.

Predeceased by her husbands Ted Nelson and Ian Castel. Loving mother of Cathy Bruce and Craig Nelson. Dear sister of George Gillard (Bella), Paul Gillard (Vera), Patricia Cleland (Bert) and Michael Gillard (Jo-Ann). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeff Hargreaves and David Bruce.

Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, June 21st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be held at HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH (91 Ribblesdale Dr., Whitby) on Tuesday, June 22nd at 10:30 A.M. Cremation to follow.

Brother of Les (Doreen) Pacey, Gordon Pacey, Harold (Marion) Pacey and the late Thomas Foster, Amy Watson, Dorothy Post, Charlie Pacey and Elsie Storey. Brother in-law- law of Marion Pacey. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Apsley Cemetery at a later date.

WWII Veteran, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, PPG (Duplate) Retired – Peacefully on Friday June 18, 2010 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 86th year.

Paul has “Gone Fishing” with his late wife Margaret Grant (nee LaLonde), December 2, 2000.

Paul will be missed by his daughter Linda (Bruce) Johnston, Hampton, and his sons Jim (Kim) Grant, Hampton, Robert (Brenda) Grant, Minden. Loved grandfather of Derrick (Karen) Johnston, Hampton, Jamie (Dawn) Johnston, Elizabethville, Jamie Grant, Vancouver, Kailey Grant, Hampton, Robert Lee, Cory and Crystal Grant all of Minden, and his great grandchildren Cody and Blair Johnston, Elizabethville, and Kaylyn Margaret Grant, Hampton. Paul will be remembered by his 2 sisters Margie (Frank) Diskey, Oshawa, and Rose Dale, Oshawa. Paul is predeceased by his sisters Kay Kolynko, Anne Pihan, Teany Boyer, Mary Mothersill and Bea Smegal, and his brothers Phil Glowaski, Michael Glowaski, Peter Glowaski and Tom Grant.

Family and friends may visit at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Monday June 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Funeral Service in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22nd at 1pm. Interment Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa.

Memorial donations to the RS McLaughlin Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.
