HIDALGO, Pedro Ubaldo

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in his 67th year.

Beloved husband of Soledad for 40 years. Loving father of Mary Jane Du and her husband Vu, Jocelyn Eslava and her husband Alex, Mary Cris Nelson and her husband Kyle and Jherick Hidalgo and his wife Catherine. Will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Calvin, Christopher, Lester, Leanne, Ainna, Cailen, Camille and JC. Survived by his sisters Shirley Leyte and Gina Roque and brother Aby Hidalgo.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1100 Mary Street North (at Beatrice Street East), Oshawa on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation.

Donations in memory of Pedro to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by his family.

PORTER, Verna E. -

(retired 40 plus year employee of Raybestos Canada Inc.). – peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry, in her 86th year.

Verna, beloved daughter of the late William Norman and Gladys Porter. Sister to the late Gerald and W. Murray. Sister in law of Mildred (Millie) Porter of Oshawa and the late Jean Porter of Peterborough. Aunt of Sandra, Frank, and the late Donna; Brian, Brenda, Douglas and Catherine.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Fallis Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Verna to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated and can be made through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 1-877-987-3964, with whom arrangements have been entrusted.

Passed away peacefully in his 72nd year on June 16, 2010 with his family by his side.

Loving and caring husband of 51 years to Rita, father to Mitchell (Debbie) and Vickie (Bill). Papa to Alexander and Natalie. Brother to Vern Sabourin (Anna) and best friend James Fitzgerald (Edna).

Cremation has taken place.

A private family memorial will be held.

FUEG, Henry -

Peacefully at Oshawa Lakeridge Health Centre on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in his 80th year.

Henry was the beloved husband of Eva and devoted father of Susan and step-father of Heidi, Martin, Barbara and Connie. Cherished grandfather of Chelsea, Courtney, Lindsay, Erika, Jordan, Andrew, Michael, Amanda, Manuel and Eva-Maria; and great- grandfather of Kayden and Kenan. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Service on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 1 p.m. Cremation.

GILPIN, Kenneth James -

(February 8, 1922 – June 15, 2010) - Ken died peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming in Peterborough surrounded by family.

Cherished husband of Margaret (nee Clark) for 24 years. Predeceased by first wife Eleanor (nee McWhirter). Dearly loved dad, father-in-law and stepdad of Stephen (Mary Jane Fenton), Janice (Gary O’Neill), Karen, Valerie (John Tittel), Ian Clark (Jan Chandler) and Christine Clark.

Adoring and much loved grampa of Stroud Gilpin (Laura Vanderaa) and Parker Gilpin; Jason O’Neill (Sabrina Robinson) and Marissa O’Neill (Jamey Rivet); Shawn Gilpin (Jaimie Davey); Michael, Kristen and Emily Tittel and Kelleigh and Katrian Clark. Proud great grampa of Eleanor and Logan Gilpin. Loving brother of Bob (the late Ruth) and Jim (Marie). Predeceased by siblings Murray (the late Charlotte) and Edyth Upton (Art).

Ken was a long time employee of the Kendall Company.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Ken on Sunday, June 27th from 1-4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 111 Hunt Street, Ajax, Ontario.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated.

The family would also like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming for the excellent care that Ken received over the past two-plus years.

HEADS, John -

After a valiant battle with cancer, John passed away in hospital in Ajax on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to all those who supported him.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11 a.m.

If desired, a donation to Pickering Village United Church or a cancer charity would be appreciated.

KUEHL, Robert C. “Bob” -

Peacefully on Tuesday June 15, 2010 after his struggle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 71st year.

Bob, beloved husband of Petra for 44 years. Loving father of Dale. He will be missed by his sisters Marilyn and her husband Al Arsenault of Bowmanville, Mona and her husband Winston Wills of Killaloe, his brother Kenny and his wife Marilyn of Killaloe, and his sister in law Margaret of Killaloe. He is predeceased by his brother Edwin.

Friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday June 18th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Prayers at 7pm.

Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude’s Church (King St. east of Wilson Rd) on Saturday, June 19th at 11am.

Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby.

Unexpectedly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, June 14th, 2010 at 62 years of age.

Dear daughter of Doris and the late Daniel Bell. Devoted mother of Laura Belfry and her husband Warren. Loving grandmother of Spencer. Linda will be sadly missed by Cyril and Linda Edwards, Werner Menzel, Terri Dehoop and her many friends.

(July 23, 1991 – June 14, 2010) – Corey fell into a coma following a motor vehicle accident in the early hours of June 14.

Life support was discontinued and he passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, June 14. Corey leaves behind his mother, Kelly Jobe, his father Edward Grentz, grandparents Gloria Jobe, Ross Jobe, and Linda Crawley; aunt Kim Jobe, uncle Ross Jobe Jr., cousin MacKenzie and her mother Angela Lent; aunt Carrol, cousins Brian, Little Ed, Little Carrol, Patty, Katie, Owen; uncle Mike, Nancy, cousins Lorie, Tammy, Mikey and Pooh; aunt Joyce, cousins Tamara and Ashley, as well as extended family “Aunt” Angie, LeeAnne, Kanaco, “Uncle” Steve, “cousins” Kayla, T.J., Brandon, Tanner, Tygo and Shoma.

Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle (just north of 401 at the lights) on Wednesday, June 16, from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, June 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough.

(Retired 47 year employee of General Motors of Canada; Devoted member of Christ Memorial Anglican Church; Past President of Sydenham Kiwanis; Chairman of the Board of Cornerstone; Veteran of WWII RCAF; Founding member of Squadron #436 Burma Campaign)

Jim died peacefully at Taunton Mills on Monday, June 14, 2010 with his loving wife Esther by his side. He was in his 88th year.

Proud father of Dr. Robert Howard and his wife Dr. Brenda McDowell, John Howard and his wife Elizabeth Woodcock, and Katherine and her husband Gregory O’Regan. Devoted Papa to Ryan, Tyler, Kyle, Lisa, Jaimie and John. Survived by his brother John and his wife Doreen Howard, and predeceased by his brother Arthur and his wife Betty Howard.

Relatives and friends may call at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

A service will be held at Christ Memorial Anglican Church, 81 Hillcroft Street (at Mary Street North), on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Special thanks to Dr. Giroux and the staff of St. Michael’s Hospital for their many years of dedicated care; and more recently, to the entire staff of the Village of Taunton Mills for their compassion and support.
