At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday August 10, 2005 in his 71st year. Frank, loved former husband of Aileen Taylor and dear companion of Evelyn Stinson. Loving father of Frank Shetler and Carol Shetler. Brother of Marie Manning, John Shetler and the late Paul, Jim and Sam. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation in his memory would be appreciated.

SANTORO, Josephine
August 30, 1932 to August 9, 2005. After a courageous battle with Leukemia, Josephine (Maria) Santoro (nee Toto) passed away at the Oshawa General Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in her 73rd year surrounded by her family. Loving wife of the late Luigi Santoro. Devoted mother of Michael and his wife Pamela, Marina, Matt and his wife Brenda, Joe and fiancee Leah. Daughter of the late Matteo and Frances Toto. Dear sister of Rosa Rinaldi and Pasquale Toto. Predeceased by her brother Giuseppe Toto. Nonna will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Matthew, Scott, Eric and Ryan and her special grandogs Otis, Stryder and Chester. Josephine will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Rosa Letorre and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 905 Giffard St., Whitby, Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Research Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.

CURTIS, John James
(July 9, 1921 - August 8, 2005) Peacefully, entered into rest on Monday, August 8, 2005, at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital at 84 years old. John, beloved husband of Alice Ann Curtis (neeShoemaker) recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Dear father of Paul, Patricia (Robert Delong), Elizabeth (James Holland), and Joseph (Mary Ann). Will be sadly missed by thirteen grandchildren. Funeral Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (70 Toronto St. N., Uxbridge) on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In John's memory, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society.

Peacefully on Monday August 8, 2005 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 80. Rusty, beloved husband for 50 years of the late Martha Gagnon (nee Eckstein). Dear brother of Don Gagnon (Mary). Dear brother-in-law of Elaine Tomniuk (Joe), Mark Ask, Ilda Townsend (Gordon), Lydia DeMille, Anton Eckstein (Lillian), Reynold Eckstein (Rosemary), and Adolph Eckstein (Marie). Passed away quietly in his sleep at Community Nursing Home, Pickering on August 7, 2005 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris for over 60 years. Cherished father of Peter and his wife Sandy, and Jo-Ann and her husband Mike Dudar. Proud grandfather of Karrie, Kelly, Kathy; Jennifer and her husband Peter Wilson, Lesley Dudar and her fiance Derek Edwards; and great granddaughter Charlotte Wilson. Dear brother of Willard and his wife Eloise, Marg and her husband Norm, Betty and her husband Gene, Dorothy and her late husband George and brother-in-law of Violet and her husband Cec King. Following Victor's wishes, cremation has occurred. A private family gathering to be held at a later date. Father of Gerard Jr. (Zamara) and Troy (Cheryl), and the late Lissa. Close companion of Shane and Derek McInroy. Grandfather of Justin LeBlanc. Dearly loved brother of Jeannine, John, Eddy, Margie and the late Mageline, Alma and Raymond. Predeceased by his parents Priscille and Joseph and his stepfather Jeffrey. Gerry will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. HART, Barbara
It is with a heavy heart but a positive spirit that the Hart family confirms the passing of the very brave Barbara Mary Hart. Barb endured a long and nasty battle with Multiple Sclerosis and it was just this past Sunday [August 7, 2005} that the disease finally took more of her than she had left. Barb will forever be remembered for her amazing spirit and humanity. She saw the best in everyone and was an appreciative audience for someone trying to be funny. Barb had an incredible skill for never taking herself seriously and yet forgiving those who did. She loved her family ferociously and in particular admired her three older sisters Donna, Nancy, and Susan for the happy and successful lives they led. A very special thanks and acknowledgement to Marg Hart, Barb's guardian angel these past several years. Barb will be permanently in the souls of not only her three sisters and Marg, but also brothers-in-law Barry, Kevin, Doug, and Ed; step sister Karen, step brother Dale; sister-in-law Jenny; nieces Kaitlyn, Emily, Laura, Grace, and Stephanie; nephews Ryan, Clarke, Graham, Brent, Ethan and David. Barb was predeceased by her mother Elenor Hart in 1972 and father Donald Hart in 1999. Friends may attend a memorial visiting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711) on Saturday August 13th from 2pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the MS Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
