JOHNSON, Elizabeth "Anne"
In her 73rd year after a courageous battle with cancer and with her family at her side, it is with sadness that Anne passed away on May 14, 2005. Beloved wife of 32 years to Sidney Johnson and mother of John & Paul (deceased) Huffman. Anne was formerly of Scugog Island and lived in Yellowknife N.W.T. for the past 35 years of her life. Service was held in Yellowknife and her ashes will be buried at Mount Lawn Cemetery, 2000 Dundas St. E., Whitby, Ontario, on June 20th, 2005 at 12 p.m. Immediately following, a reception will be held at Scugog Island First Nation Administration Building, 22521 Island Road, Port Perry, Ontario.

BECKSTED, Elizabeth 'Grace'
Quietly, on Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Extendicare residence in Oshawa. Gracie was in her 98th year, and she was born in Sharbot Lake, Ontario, where she grew up. A longtime resident of Kingston, she had many friends not only socially, but also in various work places. Gracie married Morley (predeceased) on May 21, 1960 and resided in Oshawa until her death. There were no children. She was predeceased by two brothers, Hector and Reginald, sister Edna and parents Elizabeth (nee Gracie) and Robert McVeigh. She will be dearly missed by the Becksteds and McVeighs and their families, as well as friends. Relatives and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E. Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at CHRIST MEMORIAL ANGLICAN CHURCH, 81 Hillcroft St. (at Mary St. N.), Oshawa, followed by cremation. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Morrisburg, Ontario, at a later date.
BELL, Gloria Edith (nee Hipgrave)
It is with a great sense of loss that her family announces Gloria's death after a difficult, but courageous battle with metastatic melanoma, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville on Sunday, May 8, 2005. Predeceased by her cherished husband Reuben Fraser Bell. She will be greatly missed by daughter Barbara and her husband Dan and son James and his wife Rosanne. She was a loving grandmother to Brian and his wife Kelly, Angela, Nathan, Erica, Cory and great-grandson Caleb. Passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday May 8, 2005, after a year-long illness with stomach cancer, at age 61. Beloved husband and best friend of Patricia (Pat) Boyd (nee Wiggins). Loving father of Stephanie (Tito) and Katie (Joe). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Akasha and Kaia. Also left to mourn are his mother Gladys Comber, sisters Margaret Ellis and her husband Don of Bowmanville and Joanne Byrom and her husband Eric of Oshawa, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews. In his 54th year, Brad passed away peacefullly, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family at The Cottage Hospital in Uxbridge on May 8, 2005. Brad was the dearly cherished son of June and the late Ben Jackson. He was the very much loved brother to Leigh and her husband Friedemann Huettner, Gail and her husband Frank Scheepers and Shelley and her husband Rick Hart. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Kirsten (Geoff), Matthew (Leah), Amanda, Daniel, Corey, Bradley, Breanna and Blaire. Brad was the dear nephew of Stan and his wife Carol, and the loved cousin of Sharon, Sandra, Steven, and their families. Brad's life was also deeply enriched by the love of a very special lady, Julie Jenkins and her family. He will be with us always. BLIGHT, Everett (Bud)
Bud passed away peacefully in his 82nd year on March 7th, 2005 at his home in Wilmot Creek, east of Bowmanville. He was born & raised in Whitby. After serving in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945 Bud joined the Toronto Police Force rising to the rank of Staff Inspector from which he retired in 1983. Bud was an active member of the Police Credit Union from 1956 to 1981, the last 11 years as a Director. Bud was an avid golfer & he & Laura spent many happy days golfing in Florida & in Durham with their many friends. Bud is survived by his loving wife Laura (nee Pascoe) Daughter Pat & her husband Ron Cox of Simcoe, Ontario, son Scott of St. Petersburg, Florida, grandchildren Don, Kim, Nick, Jenny, great-grandchildren Chelsey, Justin, Chloe & his brother Don of Bowmanville. He was predeceased by sister Helen & his parents Mae & Theodore Blight. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 14th, 2005 at 1 pm at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville.
