Passed away in hospital Friday, January 31, 2003, in his 65th year. Survived by sister Marian Bell of Toronto, niece Debbie (Kim) Gordon of Keswick, nephew Stephen (Barb) Rawn of Toronto and their families. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Isabel Aldcorn, sister Helen Young and friend Phyllis West. Cremation has taken place; spring interment Shelburne Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433 5558).

BAPTIE, Ken
Age 59 years. Suddenly on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Beloved husband of Diane (Lambier) Baptie. Dear father of Debbie & John Moore; Susan Miller & Tony Tompkins; Katherine & Scott West. Loving grandfather of Rebecca, Nathan, Tammy, Melanie, Natalee, Christina, Brittaney, Jacob, Charles, Samantha and Matthew. Dear brother of Mary & Peter Vandenburg. Loving nephew of Emily & Ronald Macklin, Harry, Barbara and Marjorie George. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 2-4 & 7-9 pm Monday. Funeral Service in our Chapel 11am Tuesday. Cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Special thanks to all who assisted Ken at The Oshawa Ski Club in Kirby.

Peacefully, at Hastings Manor, Belleville on Friday, January 31st, 2003, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Benedict. Loving mother of Gail Sandra Kelly, Marilyn Dowie (Orville). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Michael Kelly (Karen), Janice Walker (Bob), and by her great- grandchildren Padraig and Caitlin. Resting at The ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711) with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, February 3rd, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. GUILBERT, Normand
Passed way peacefully, with his family by his side, on January 31, 2003. Beloved husband of Debra. Cherished father of Gillian and Christopher. Loving brother of Gaetan (Marilyn), Helene (Donald Heys), Patricia Aube, Gloria McCrea, Rosaire, and Diane (Peter Asprey). Norm had a successful career in the Insurance Industry before establishing his own business as the 'Carpet Guy'. He will be sadly missed by many who knew him. The family extend their appreciation to the staff of Ward 3F at the Oshawa General Hospital. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass at St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church (82 Church St. S., Ajax, ON) on Monday, February 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. HULL, Betty Jane
At South Lake Regional Hospital, Newmarket of Friday, January 31, 2003. Betty, in her 75th year. Beloved mother of Dr. Sharon Null, and partner Robert Jennings of Bradford, Dr. James Hull and wife Grace of Stroud, Jeff Hull and wife Kate of Oshawa, and Kate and husband Bill Rodgers of England. Dear grandmother of Carrie Ricetto and husband Darcy, Chrissy Hull and partner Justin Rodgers, Harvey Rodgers, Dominic Rodgers, Sarah and Jarod Jennings. Sister of Maybelle Peeters and husband Herman of Oshawa. At Betty's request, cremation will take place with a private family service to follow. Donations in memory of Betty to a favourite Charity may be made through McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558).

IRELAND, John S.
Passed away on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Loving husband of the late Norma McLeod. Beloved father to Allan (Darlene), Susan and her husband Joe Andres. Dear grandfather to Alison and Jennifer Andres, Jessica, Sarah and John Ireland. John will be missed by sister-in-law Marion Mcleod, nephew Kim and his wife Reena and their son Paul Hogarth. Predeceased by his parents Vic and Alice, his stepmother Orra and brother George. The family will receive friends at the W.C. Town funeral Chapel from 7 to 9pm Monday. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday February 4, 2003 at 11 am. Interment, Mount Lawn Cemetery. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

SCHROETTER, Susan Lucia
Suddenly on Friday, January 31, 2003. Susan, only 41, was the loving mother to Shawnie and Samantha. She was known as the "coolest" mom in Whitby. She was the beloved wife of Wolfgang, and will be sadly missed by her mother Lucia Hanzal, brother Peter Hanzal, sister-in-law Brenda, and nephew Jamison. Susie will be sadly missed by all her friends and family and will always be in our hearts. The family will receive friends at the W.C. Town funeral Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday. Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 am. Interment, GROVESIDE Cemetery. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Asthma Society, 130 Bridgeland Avenue, Suite 425, Toronto, Ontario, M6A 1Z4.

JAMIESON, Roy Salter
Peacefully, after a short illness, on Friday, January 31, 2003, at the Toronto Grace Hospital, at age 88. Loved son of the late Ernest and Etta Jamieson. Dear brother of the late Elmer Jamieson. Loving uncle of Mary Jamieson of Toronto and Ann and her husband Bob Atkinson of Newmarket and great uncle of Andrew and John Atkinson. Relatives and friends will be received at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905 985-2171) on Tuesday, February 4th from 12 noon - 1 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Roy Jamieson will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Reverend Robert Le Page officiating. Interment Bethel Cemetery, Greenbank in the Spring. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thanks goes to the wonderful nursing staff at Toronto Grace Hospital.

GOLDRICK, Sylvia
At the age of 76, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, January 30th, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Best friend and dearly loved wife of Grant for almost 60 years. Dearest mom of Ronald (predeceased), Glenda and her husband John, Gary and his love Lori. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren Tyler (Jill), Troy (Tara), Arden and Jaime. Thanks to so many dear friends for their support of prayers, kind words, and good wishes during her illness. To the kind and ever supportive nurses in the Cancer Treatment Center, 6F, and palliative care, the family is most grateful. Visitation will be at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel on Sunday February 2, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Service in the chapel on Monday February 3rd, at 11 am. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Peacefully, on Thursday, January 30, 2003, at the Port Perry Villa, at age 77. Beloved mother of Yvonne Walley of Scugog Island. Loving grandmother of Andrea. Wife of the late Fred Lenz of Midland. Sister of Leo Grunewald of Thunder Bay. Daughter of Paula Grunewald in Germany. Brother of Dorothy Szoke of Burlington, John Spears of Woodstock, Mina McMaster of Port Perry, Ivan Spears of Owen Sound, Ronald Spears of Oshawa, May Anderson of Oshawa and predeceased by his sister Edna Ringwood and his brothers Leslie and Allen Spears. Peacefully, on Thursday, January 30, 2003, at home with his family, at age 76. Merrill Van Camp of Blackstock, beloved husband of Jean (nee Harris) and the late Norma (nee Malcolm) 1989. Loved father of Dale Van Camp and his wife Janet of Blackstock, Marie and her husband Robert Attfield of Delta, BC, and Valerie and her husband Ron Linton of Oshawa. Loving grandfather of Jamie, Mark and Scott Attfield, Mary, Michael and David Van Camp, and Emily and Maggie Linton. Cherished stepfather of Grant McLaughlin and his wife Heather, and Neil McLaughlin and his wife Kathy all of Blackstock. Remembered by grandchildren Carla, Abby, Alex, Jessica, and Blake McLaughlin. Dear brother of Keith Van Camp and his wife Wilma and Aileen Van Camp all of Blackstock and he will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Percy and Elva Van Camp. Interment Cartwright Union Cemetery, Blackstock in the Spring. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Blackstock United Church Memorial Fund or the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Port Perry. A community minded person, he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
