RUA, Adalina
At Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, Adelina (nee Serra) at 85 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Pasquale Rua. Dear mother of Domenico Rua (predeceased) and his wife Gina, Rosina Naccarato and her husband Antonio, Frank Rua, Franca Rua, Paul Rua and John Rua and his companion Cathie. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael Naccarato and his wife Erica, Dino Naccarato and his wife Marcie and Josie Naccarato and by her great-grandchildren Julianna and Eric. Adelina will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the People Parish on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Prayers will be held at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

TAPSCOTT, Norman James
Died on Wednesday, December 20th, 2006 at the Rouge Valley Health System, Ajax-Pickering Site, in his 97th year. Norman, husband of the late Betty and the late Jean. Father of Afra and her husband Dan Marinus. Stepfather of Ian and Jane Walker. Survived by his grandchildren Kendrick Tapscott, Justin Hart and his sister Muriel Reid.

WILLIAMS, James
30 Years Parts & Service General Motors Corporation Retired 1972. Member Masonic Cedar Lodge #270, Oshawa.
Peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, at the age of 93. James, beloved husband of the late Anne Jeanne Sajac (1992). Loved father of Edward James (Ted) Williams, and James Anthony (Jim) Williams and his wife Helen. Loved Grandfather of Robert (Vivi), Ronald (Doreen), Scott, Robin (Rob), Cheryl (Frank), and Tiffani (Joe), and great-grandfather of Marie, Justin, Ashley, Ryan, Laura, Brayden, Tyler, Kylie, Kristyn, and Hailey. Dear brother of Alice. Friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Friday, December 22nd from 6-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, December 23rd at 12:30 p.m.. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby. Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

ANDERSON, Douglas
1916 - 2006
Passed away peacefully on December 19, 2006 with family by his side after a short illness, in his 91st year, at the Lakeridge Hospital in Port Perry. Cherished husband of Agnes (nee Redick) of Whitby. Beloved father to George of Toronto, Susan Stensson and Nancy Tucker (Neil) of Whitby. Much loved 'Pampa' to Aimee (Jason), Jennifer, Kelly, Kristy, Katey, Lisa (Gabi), and Michael (Lisa) and greatly missed by great-grandchildren Abbigail, Andie, Charlotte, Jack and Jacob. Douglas served as a Canadian Army Captain with the 17th Hussars in World War II and went on to become President of Reckitt and Coleman Canada Limited, a company for which he worked for over 50 years. The family is very thankful to Dr. Tuck and the nursing and administrative staff at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Port Perry, for the exceptional care and kindness they showed during this difficult time. Funeral Services will be held at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Saturday, December 23 at 2 p.m. There will be a brief visitation period, commencing at 1 p.m. prior to the ceremony. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BRADFORD, Albert Walter

At Hillsdale Estates on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Albert, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Velma, late Jean and late Alice Bradford. Dear stepfather of Donna Finney and husband Al of Trent River and Helen Jean White and husband Russ of Oshawa. Dear brother of the late Violet Cooke, Gladys Finney and Lil Baker. Fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Relatives and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic Lodge Service Thursday at 7:00 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with interment in Oshawa Union Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Albert to a favourite Charity would be appreciated.

COLLINS, Jackie Ellen
Suddenly, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at her home in Oshawa, at age 45. Jackie Collins, loved mother of Andrew. Loving daughter of Breda and the late Kevin Collins (1998) of Port Perry. Loved sister of Kevin Collins and his wife Ingrid, Michael Collins and his wife Felicia, Sheila Collins, and Patricia and her husband Peter Petric. Loving aunt of Theresa, Sarah, Norah, Kevin, Lianna, Drake, Brandon, Thomas, Olivia, Bridget and Felicia. Jackie will also be sadly missed by her aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Family of Jackie Collins will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171), on Friday, December 22nd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 17955 Leslie Street (between Davis Drive and Green Lane) in Newmarket on Saturday, December 23rd at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby. FRANSSEN, Maria Elizabeth
In her 101 year. Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Manor on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Predeceased by her husband Leonard Joseph Franssen. Born in Holland in February 23, 1906. Immigrated to Canada in August of 1952. Was a resident of Port Perry for many years before making Oshawa her home. She will be sadly missed by her children, Tiny Smeets, Lisha Colbear (Art) Martin (Joe) Franssen (Ruth), Emma predeceased, Jan Franssen (Sylvia), John Franssen (Martha predeceased), AnnaMarie Gillard (Ray), Jack Franssen (Sandra) and her many Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Great-great-grandchildren and her Nieces, Nephews (Holland) and Friends. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa. Friends will be received on Thursday, December 21st, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Prayers will be held at the 7-9pm Viewing. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 3800 Courtice Rd. Courtice, Ont. December 22nd at 11:00am. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Taunton Rd. E. Suddenly, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Dawn, in her 19th year. Beloved daughter of Arthur and Ramona Lent. Dear sister of Ronnie, Nichole, Hope and Jade. Loving granddaughter of Rita Bull and husband Robert of Thornbury, ON, Ronald Francis and wife Carol of Kitchener, the late Donna Lent and late husband Arthur, Deborah Puffer and husband Mike Hayes of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by many family and friends. Passed away with her family by her side at Fairview Lodge in Whitby on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in her 87th year. Alma Metheral (nee St. John) wife of the late Peter Metheral. Loving mother of Shirley Ross (Gary) and Donna Sandison. Cherished grandmother of Ken Ross (Charlene), Sharon Ross, Christine Sterling (Bruce) and Jason Sandison (Nicole). Proud great-grandmother of Allan, Jonathon, James, Lauren, Chelsey, Jessica, Brittany, Kaylynn and Lachlan. Daughter of the late Joe and Laura St. John. Sister of Kathleen Mullan and predeceased by her brother Harold St. John. Alma will be sadly missed by her faithful dog Molly. Memorial donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated. BEASLEY, John
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness on Monday, December 18, 2006 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 70. John, beloved husband of Esme. Loving father of Nicolette, Craig and Melanie. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Emma Beasley. Will be missed by his brothers and sisters in South Africa, Australia and London, England. John will be dearly missed by his grandson Thomas. DARKER, Carol Ann (nee Dowden)
At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, December 18th, 2006 after a brief illness, in her 62nd year. She is survived by her husband John and was the beloved daughter of Betty Dowden and the late Don. Her bright smile and generous soul will be sadly missed by her children, David Kosurko (Maria), Michael Kosurko (Jackie) Ann Kosurko (Tim) and stepdaughter Melissa Darker. Grandmother of Connor and Cameron Kosurko and Lydia Jane Etherington. Carol also leaves her brothers Barry and Thomas Dowden (Jocelyn), sisters Donna Loch, Judy Dowden and Heather wife of Donald Dowden Jr. (deceased). Aunt of Karen, Kristen, Rachel, Barbara, Cassandra, Alana and Gregory. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West ( 905-721-1234) for visitation on Thursday, December 21, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday Dec. 23rd from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service in the Chapel at 11:00. o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations made to local children's charities in Carol's honor would be appreciated.
